A Chattooga County woman was killed in a single vehicle accident on Friday afternoon in Chattooga County. The Georgia State Patrol released the following statement:
On January 19th, 2023, Agents with the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force and the Walker County Sheriff Office SWAT Team executed two search warrants at 373 Rogers Road and 797 Lail Road in Chickamauga. Agents located a pill press, over two pounds of powder Fentanyl, over 1,000 suspected Fentanyl pills, three pounds of Marijuana, and a large amount of U.S. currency. In connection with these locations, the Hamilton County Narcotics Division and Hamilton County SWAT Team executed a search warrant at 5314 Dupont Street in East Ridge, Tennessee. Agents located a trafficking amount of Fentanyl and a firearm. Tennessee Agents arrested George Albert Watkins III “Tre”. Watkins will be charged with Trafficking Fentanyl and Possession of Marijuana with intent to Distribute in Georgia.

The City of Summerville has posted a public notice about the 2023 General Municipal Election that will be held on November 7, 2023. The election will be for three city-council seats. First responders were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Highways 9 and 35 just after 10:00 Wednesday morning, involving a 2008 Jeep and a 2020 Dodge. The wreck was reportedly head-on, leading to one driver being entrapped.
