The City of Summerville has posted a public notice about the 2023 General Municipal Election that will be held on November 7, 2023. The election will be for three city-council seats. The candidate qualifying period will be held at Summerville City Hall on August 21-25 from 8:30 AM until 5 PM and on Friday, August 25th from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM. First responders were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Highways 9 and 35 just after 10:00 Wednesday morning, involving a 2008 Jeep and a 2020 Dodge. The wreck was reportedly head-on, leading to one driver being entrapped.
