Summerville Police responded to a domestic incident last Saturday at a residence on Third Avenue. According to a police report released this week, when an officer arrived on the scene he found several females arguing. The officer knew that one of the females did not live at the residence anymore and quickly identified her as the one the others were arguing with. The officer told Summer Villejo to leave the residence and not to come back. The officer issued a criminal trespass warning not to return to the address and registered the warning with Chattooga 911. The officer then advised the owner of the residence to go to magistrate court and get a good behavior warrant against Villejo.
October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) sponsors this event to promote the adoption of dogs from local shelters.
Summerville Main Street, Michael Lee Stancil, and Private Label Artists are proud to present country hit recording artist Craig Campbell and local Hometown Favorite Michael Lee in Downtown Summerville to perform a free acoustic show for all ages. The concert will be held on the East Washington Street Streetscape from 9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to the Chattooga County Agriculture Center Covered Arena, located at 33 Middle School Rd, Summerville, GA.
The Chattooga County Young Farmers will be holding their regular monthly meeting coming up next week. The meeting will take place on Thursday, October 7th at 7 PM at the Chattooga County Agricultural Center. The featured speaker will be Sophia Price from the Chattooga County Beekeepers. Governor Brian P. Kemp has announced a $1,000 pay supplement for all eligible sworn law enforcement officials and first responders in Georgia. Local governments and employers of public safety officials and first responders are encouraged to visit the Office of Planning and Budget’s grant funding opportunities website for more information on how to apply, receive, and distribute these funds. Applications will be accepted from October 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021.
