In a social media post on Sunday evening, local Jefferson’s Restaurant owner Todd Kingsolver said that the restaurant on Commerce Street in downtown Summerville will be closed “for the next several Monday’s and Tuesday’s”.

A four-wheeler accident in the Pennville Community on Saturday sent a juvenile to the hospital via Lifeforce. According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened on Knox Street in Pennville, which is near Paradise Garden. The accident is still under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol Post in Rome. The child was flown from the Redmond EMS Station in Summerville to Erlanger Medical Center.
The Chattooga County School District released its weekly COVID report on Friday of last week. According to the numbers there were 8 positive cases at Chattooga High School; 14 cases at Summerville Middle School; 4 cases at Leroy Massey Elementary; 11 cases at Lyerly Elementary and 10 cases at Menlo Elementary. There were no cases reported in Chattooga Pre-K last week.
The Trion City School System released its weekly COVID report on Friday of last week. According to the numbers, there were 5 positive cases at Trion Elementary School; 2 cases at Trion Middle School, 8 cases at Trion High School and 2 district staff members testing positive.
The City of Summerville Municipal Court was to have met tomorrow, but Municipal Court Judge Tracy Maddux along with the City of Summerville has made the decision to put off all court cases that were to be held tomorrow and postpone court proceedings until October.
