Industrial Wood Chipper Fire On Friday

A large plume of smoke was visible all across Chattooga County on Friday afternoon.  The fire was caused by a industrial wood chipper that was on site at a logging operation on Sling Alley Road in Lyerly. The smoke could be seen as far away as Cloudland to the west and Walker and Floyd County to the north and east.  Local fire departments responded to the scene to keep the fire contained.

Wrightsville, Georgia Police Look For Missing Woman Originally From LaFayette
