A man wanted in Alabama and the driver of a vehicle with a bad taillight were arrested last Thursday after a traffic stop on Highway 114 near the Raccoon Creek Bridge.
A fifty-year-old man was charged with DUI after he was accused of pointing a gun at another driver on Highway 27 near Trade Day. According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened last Tuesday shortly before 9 AM.
The Summerville City Council met on Monday evening and was presented with a veto by Mayor Harry Harvey. Harvey vetoed a $2,500 donation to the Summerville Youth Wrestling organization, calling the donation “illegal”.

Police in Floyd County are searching for a missing teenager. Sixteen-year-old Madeline “Maddy” Dempsey has been missing since this past Sunday and her family is concerned about her health, according to a social media post by the Floyd County Police Department. According to the post, the teen is considered to be a run away juvenile. She has shoulder-length brown hari and was wearing blue jeans, a blue shirt and had on a white hat and was carrying a black bag. She was last seen in the Armuchee area. Anyone with any information about this child should contact 911.
