The Trion Fire Department reresponded to a call on Oak Hill Drive on Tuesday evening. Fire officials say that it was an illegal burn. Area residents are reminded that all outdoor burning requires a permit and all fires must be extinguished before dark. To obtain a burn permit, please visit www.gatrees.org .

A twenty-one-year-old Chattooga County man was arrested in neighboring Walker County last week on drug charges. According to docket records from the Walker County Sheriff’s Office, Damon Durane Dockery of a Manning Mill Road, Summerville address was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Dockery was lodged in the Walker County Jail.
