It probably won’t come as a surprise to anyone, but another annual event has been canceled in Chattooga County due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
A woman living on Northern Heights Circle in Summerville reported a theft to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office this week.
The complainant told a responding deputy that someone had stolen two flower planters and a wooden porch swing. The planters were stolen from the complainant’s yard and the swing was taken from her porch.
She told the deputy the name of a person who had approached her about purchasing the items earlier in the week. The deputy went to the residence of the person who had inquired about the planters and swing, and they denied having taken the items.
The incident was turned over to an investigator.

A Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a theft call in Halls Valley this week after a complainant reported a set of off-road tires and wheels being stolen.
