The Chattooga County Fair Council is moving forward with plans to host this year’s Chattooga County Agricultural Fair. For now, the fair council says that everything is being planned – with the exception of major musical entertainment.
Georgia gas prices increased slightly at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $2.00 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. Monday’s state average is only 2 cents more than a week ago, 23 cents more than last month, and 59 cents less than this time last year.

The 2020 Trion High School Seniors have been waiting for graduation day and now it looks like they will finally get to receive their diplomas at the end of this month. Dr. Phil Williams, Superintendent of Trion City Schools, says that plans are to host the graduation on July 31st at 8 PM at Sam R. McCain Stadium.

Country music and southern rock legend Charlie Daniels has passed. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Grand Ole Opry member died this morning at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee. Doctors determined the cause of death was a hemorrhagic stroke. He was 83.
Funeral arrangements will be announced in the coming days.
