
Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) has announced that public voting for the Congressional Art Competition’s People’s Choice Award has begun.
The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) this week is distributing 18,440 vials of the drug remdesivir received from the federal government. Nearly 85 hospitals in Georgia (complete list below) will receive remdesivir, enough to treat about 1,676 patients with COVID-19 infection, depending on the duration of an individual’s illness and treatment needs.
Chattooga County 4-H announced late Wednesday that all 4-H Summer activities have been canceled/postponed.
A Summerville woman recently came to the sheriff’s office to report numerous check forgeries. The complainant said that the incidents began around May 6th and numerous checks have been written on her account at United Community Bank. The checks have been written to a variety of retail establishments across the area, causing several hundreds of dollars in overdrafts and overdraft charges to the woman’s bank account. The woman said that she no longer uses checks and is not sure exactly how many checks have been paid or returned. The check fraud is being investigated by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.
Gov. Brian Kemp said Wednesday that he’ll continue to roll back coronavirus restrictions as long as residents abide by safety guidelines, adding that his decision to allow more businesses to reopen is “reinvigorating” the state’s stalled economy.
Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on Monday urged voters to return their absentee ballots in time for the June 9 primary. The Secretary of State says that around 1 million voters have not returned the ballots that they had requested.
The busy Memorial Day Travel Period wrapped up at midnight on Monday and the Georgia State Patrol says that there were a total of fifteen traffic fatalities statewide.
