The Georgia State Patrol Post in Rome is investigating a serious accident that happened on Dry Creek Road in the northeastern corner of Chattooga County on Friday. According to reports, the accident involved a single vehicle. Lifeforce was called to transport a victim who was said to have had extensive injuries. Reports indicate that the crash victim is in stable condition, according to family members. More information will be forthcoming when a report is released by the Georgia State Patrol in Rome.
A Cloudland resident reported the theft of handgun to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office this week.
Earlier this week, the store manager at the Summerville McDonald’s called the sheriff’s department after a drive-thru customer damaged equipment with a truck and trailer.

After several months of bad news in the ongoing water crisis, the City of Summerville received some good news on Friday. A test well at a location west of the water treatment facility is producing 1,000 gallons of water a minute at 364 ft. Summerville City Councilman Joe Money posted on social media, “Still alot of work to do but a great start! Thank you for your patience during this massive project.”
