A Trion man says that someone struck his vehicle on Penn Bridge Road last week and drove off without stopping.

Chattooga High School has set the date for this year’s graduation. The event will be held on Friday, May 29th at 8 PM at the CHS Stadium, but things will be a bit different this year due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. You can see a statement about CHS graduation below:
A family on Chandler Road in Trion lost their home to a fire last week. According to a report released on Monday by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department, a resident of the house told a responding deputy that they believed it could have been faulty wiring that caused the fire. The report stated that when the deputy arrived on the scene, the family along with their pets had already made it out of the house. No one was injured, but the house was a total loss.
There will be a COVID-19 drive-thru testing site located at Chattooga County Health Department, 60 Farrar Drive, Summerville, GA 30747 from 9 AM – 4 PM Tuesday, May 12th.
UPDATE:
On Monday evening, an armed robber entered the CVS Pharmacy located at the corner of Highway 48 and Rome Boulevard in Summerville. According to Summerville Police, the robber came through the front door and robbed the store of cash and then exited the building through the pharmacy drive-thru window. Summerville Police, the Georgia State Patrol and Chattooga County deputies searched the area for the suspect, but so far no one has been taken into custody. Police say that they do not believe the suspect took any medication from the pharmacy. More details will be released as they are available.
The Summerville City Council will hold its regular monthly city council meeting coming up this afternoon. The meeting will be held online, and the public is invited to comment before the meetings starts. The public input portion of the meeting will begin at 4:30 this afternoon, with the meeting to start at 5 PM.
Summerville Police were called to investigate a theft that happened last week on McGinnis Circle. According to the complainant, someone got into her vehicle and stole a wallet containing personal identification cards, credit and debit cards and $110 in cash. No suspect was named in the report that was released late last week by the Summerville Police Department. The incident has been turned over to an investigator.
