For the first time ever, TVFCU is hosting three seperate Idea Leap Grant Competitions in the Chattanooga, Cleveland and Dalton areas. The credit union is giving away $75,000 to entreprenuers in the Chattanooga area and $50,000 each in the Cleveland and Dalton areas.
A thirty-three-year-old Fish Hatchery Road, Summerville man was arrested on December 9th and officers found a “large amount” of methamphetamine on his person.

Last Saturday, armed robbers held up a convenience store on Highway 48 just outside of Summerville. The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department had been reviewing evidence and investigating the incident. On Tuesday night, Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader released a statement about the incident and warned other stores in the area to be vigilant.

The Chattooga County Sheriff’s office was called to a residence on Jenkins Gap Road by a complainant who said that a man had entered her house without permission.
The Summerville City Council met on Monday evening of this week and approved a contract for the interim city-manager. The council voted to approve the four-month contract for Andrea Surratt, whose most recent job was city manager in Sandy Springs, Georgia. A provision in the contract allows the council to extend the contract if a full-time city manager is not hired within the four-month period. The council also voted to transfer funds from the city’s restricted account to pay for the chassis for a new fire engine for the Summerville Fire Department. The council approved a motion to finance the balance of the new fire truck with Truist bank.
