Georgia gas prices decreased at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $1.95 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. Monday’s state average is 3 cents less than a week ago, 5 cents less than last month, and 48 cents less than this time last year.

Trion United Methodist Church Brunswick Stew Sale

Trion United Methodist Church will have their Brunswick Stew available Saturday, November 7, 2020.  It is $7 per quart.  The stew will be ready around 10:30 a.m.  Please pick the stew up from the fellowship hall (under the awning) before 1:00 p.m.  We usually sell out so the stew is sold on a first come first serve basis.  We have taken special precautions to protect our special people that purchase our stew and our volunteer stew workers!  Thank you to all who support our stew project.

Mr. John William “Booster”Jones Obit (M)

Mr. John William “Booster” Jones, age 64, of LaFayette, GA, died Saturday, October 31, 2020, at Parkridge East Hospital.
 
Mr. Jones was born July 18, 1956, in Summerville, GA, son of the late McKinley and Sadie Terrell Jones.  He was retired from Menlo Sawmill.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his sisters, Gloria Price, Minnie Jones, Carolyn Jones, Rosa Dell Jones Bennett; brothers, George Jones, Nathan Jones, Author Jones, and Cicero Jones.
 
Graveside services for Mr. Jones will be held at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at AMI Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
 
The Jones family along with the staff of Mason Funeral Home remind anyone in attendance to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings including social distancing, gathering limits, and face masks.
