Clothes Dryers Stolen from Summerville Man

Records from the Summerville Police Department indicate that a city resident recently had two clothes dryers stolen.

West Washington Street man William Morrison told a responding officer that he discovered his dryers missing the previous Thursday.

Morrison provided the name of a possible suspect. The police department is investigating the theft.

Mr. Casey Vinson Wesbrook, age 37, of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 3, 2018, at his residence. Born in Riverdale, Georgia on January 2, 1981, he was a son of Richard and Janice Brewster Westbrook, who survive. Mr. Westbrook was an artist, known for his iron sculptures.

Vehicle Catches Fire at Centre Wendy’s

Centre Police and Firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the drive thru at Wendy’s on West Main Street in Centre on Wednesday afternoon. Centre Police were first to arrive on scene to find the truck heavily engulfed in flames. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters from Leesburg and Sand Rock also assisted. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Arrest warrants have been issued for 31 suspects, which allege criminal activities associated with the street gang called “Ghost Face Gansters” in Walker and Catoosa counties.

Thief Hits Maplewood Apartments

At least two residents of Maplewood Apartments were victims of a theft last Sunday.

Mr. Josh Bates informed filed a police report with the sheriff’s department after his pair of Poulan chainsaws were taken from the apartment’s back porch. They are together worth $200, and one is a small climbing saw.

Ms. Sharon Penson filed a separate theft report that same day. Penson said that miscellaneous personal belongings had been stolen from storage room twice.

The sheriff’s department is investigating the thefts.

Deer Carcass Sends Motorist Airborne

A woman’s vehicle went airborne Saturday night after she drove over a deer carcass lying on Highway 27 near Silver Hill Road.

Misty Bowling told a responding sheriff’s deputy that she was traveling southbound on Hwy. 27 when she hit the deer, but when her Saturn Ion ultimately came to a rest, she was facing north from the grassy bank off the road.

Bowling’s vehicle only sustained minor damage to the radiator and to the front of the car. Reports do not indicated that Bowling was injured. The vehicle was towed by Luallen’s.

Drunken Summerville Woman Walks Up to Stranger’s House at 10 PM

After walking up to a stranger’s house at 10 PM, 40-year-old Heather Nicole McCool of Summerville was arrested last Saturday night on the charge of “Pedestrian Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs”.
