A Summerville man has been issued a citation after leaving the scene of an accident where he drove into one of the brick columns at the Summerville Graveyard.
Officers with the Summerville Police Department investigated the scene of the October 13th accident last Monday following a call-in report from a citizen. After the officers located a gold, mid-1990’s Honda front bumper at the scene of the accident, a lookout was posted for bumper-less cars matching that description.
A 1995 Honda Accord matching that description was located shortly thereafter Tuesday morning on Rome Blvd. The driver, Summerville resident William Davis Jr., told the officer that he had been involved in a small collision at the city graveyard but did not realize he had damaged anything, and did not realize he had lost his bumper until getting home.
Davis’ side of the story was forwarded to the investigating officer, but he was issued a citation for damage to property and leaving the scene of an incident.
