Center Post Community Center will hold its Monthly Music Night on Saturday March 16, 2024 beginning at 7 PM EST for a free concert featuring the Blackberry Winter Bluegrass Band. Red Clay Ranch is a horse rescue and sanctuary located on Parker Road in Lyerly. The ranch takes in horses that are in need of rescue and care and operates year round feeding, nurturing and loving over 80 horses. The ranch is made up of 180 acres and includes three pastures that are designated for blind horses so that they can live independently and comfortably. Coming up on Saturday, April 27, 2024, Red Clay Ranch is inviting the public for their annual open house. Guests will get enjoy BBQ with all the fixin’s along with music, tours and interaction with the horses. The City of Summerville has announced that they will be cleaning up the cemetery later this month. The city is asking that those with loved ones at the cemetery be sure to remove faded flowers, both real and plastic along with holiday or seasonal items and decorations at the cemetery. Also, people are asked to remove all glass items from the cemetery before Monday, March 25, 2024. Anyone with questions should contact the City of Summerville 706-859-0900.
A meeting will be held this coming Wednesday evening at Summerville Middle School for middle school students from Summerville, Menlo and Lyerly who are interested in playing football or basketball. The football interest meeting will get underway at 6 PM and the basketball interest meeting will follow. All middle school students interested in playing are invited to attend.
The Chattooga Young Farmers will be hosting a BBQ lunch sale next month. Proceeds from the BBQ sale will go to the Chattooga Young Farmers Scholarship Fund. The lunch will be available for pickup at the Chattooga County Ag Building off Highway 100 in Summerville from 11 AM until 1 PM on Wednesday, April 24th and will consist of a BBQ sandwich, chips and dessert. Deliveries will be available for local businesses.

A fundraiser for the LaFayette Ramblers Marching Band will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 called “Songs for the Band”. The event will feature LaFayette High School alumni country singer and songwriter Channing Wilson. Wilson has performed on the Grand Ole Opry and written songs recorded by Riley Green, Travis Tritt, Luke Combs and The Oak Ridge Boys. Wilson will be joined by country songwriters Rob Snyder and Johnathan Singleton for a concert at the LaFayette High School Auditorium. Tickets are $40 each.
