The Chattooga High School future health professionals – HOSA – will be hosting a mother-son dance coming up this Saturday, October 29th. The mother-son dance will be held at 6 PM at Chattooga High School. Participants are urged to come dressed for Halloween. There will be a costume contest at the dance. The mother-son dance is for children ages 3-13.
The Chattooga High School Booster Club is hosting Cow Patty Bingo again this year. What’s Cow Patty Bingo? It is when a cow will be let loose in a contained area with a clearly marked grid at the Chattooga County Fairgrounds at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29th.

The Cloudland Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a Trunk or Treat at Cloudland Community Park on Saturday October 29th from 3-5 pm. The public is welcomed to attend.
The Menlo Lions Club will be making their famous Brunswick Stew on the 4th of November. Pick up will be Saturday the 5th between 7 and 10 am. Price is 8 dollars a quart or 30 dollars a gallon. There will be a community yard sale at the Menlo City Park this coming Saturday October 22nd from 8am to 5pm. Stan Rosser with Small Town BBQ will be there selling his award winning bbq! Larry Wilbanks will be on site selling peanuts and nachos!
The price is $10 for vendor spots and sellers are required to bring their own table. All items not sold must be cleaned up. All proceeds will go to the Downtown Menlo Beautification Project.

There’s Hope For The Hungry will be at South Summerville Baptist Church Wednesday October 19th from 10:00 a.m.until 1:00 p.m.
With the skyrocketing costs of nearly everything over the past year, there’s a growing need in our community as the holidays approach. Right now, The Salvation Army in Rome is seeking to help children and seniors who need assistance this holiday season. The Salvation Army in Rome serves Floyd, Polk and Chattooga Counties. The deadline is nearing to sign up for The Angel Tree Program, which provides gifts for children and seniors to families in need. Families can nominate themselves or others they know who are in need. There’s Hope for the Hungry will be giving away free groceries this Thursday, October 13, at the Central Avenue Baptist Church at 14074 Central Avenue in Trion. The times of this event is from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. No ID is required.
