The Grand Ole Opry will celebrate the 80th birthday of Opry member Ronnie Milsap with a special “Ronnie Milsap & Friends” show on March 25 at the Opry House.

June Jam is coming back to Fort Payne — according to an announcement from ALABAMA members Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry. The announcement came as the band members accepted the V.I. Prewett Lifetime Achievement Award at the Fort Payne Chamber of Commerce’s Awards Banquet, alongside Lisa Cook, wife of late ALABAMA member Jeff Cook.
As Nancy Jones announced ‘Still Playin’ Possum: Music & Memories of George Jones,’ which will include performances by Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Jamey Johnson, Justin Moore, Lorrie Morgan, Mark Chesnutt, Michael Ray, Sam Moore, Tanya Tucker, Trace Adkins, Tracy Byrd, and Tracy Lawrence taking place at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama, on Tuesday, April 25th, nobody could imagine the excitement that would surround this event. he event has officially sold out within two weeks of its original announcement and the lineup continues to get bigger!
The streaming music service Pandora has honored country music super-group Alabama with a “Pandora Billionaire” plaque after the online music service certified over 2 BILLION Alabama music stream plays.

Jeff Cook, a founding member of the Fort Payne-based group ALABAMA, passed away on Monday, November 7. He was 73. According to the band’s publicity firm, Cook died at his beach home in Destin, Fla. “with his family and close friends by his side.”

Three country music greats will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame at a ceremony to be held today in Nashville, Tennessee. The hall of fame inductees are divided into three categories: non-performer, veteran era artist and modern era artist.
