* WHAT…Freezing rain, possibly mixing with rain or sleet at
times. A light glazing of ice is possible. For the Wind Chill
Advisory, very cold wind chills expected. Wind chills as low
as 5 below zero.
* WHERE…Portions of north central, northeast and northwest
Georgia.
* WHEN…For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 10 AM EST
Tuesday. For the Wind Chill Advisory, from 5 PM Tuesday to 10

* IMPACTS...Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are
possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or
evening commute. The cold wind chills could result in
hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

With temperatures expected to plummet into the single digits overnight tonight, a lot of people might be looking to space heaters to help heat their homes. If you plan to use electric, kerosene or wood space heaters, you should be sure that you are using them safely and properly.

Georgia’s gas price average continues to drop at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia drivers are now paying an average price of $2.95 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline (subject to change overnight). Monday’s state average is 2 cents less than a week ago, 4 cents less than a month ago, and 10 cents less than this time last year. It now costs an average of $44.25 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline. Georgians are now paying $1.50 less to fill up at the pump compared to a year ago.
If you haven’t hit a deer with your vehicle in Northwest Georgia, no doubt, you know someone who has. Just last week, the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office worked two car vs. deer collisions. One was on Highway 27 just north of JBar in Trion and the other was near the intersection of Highway 27 and North Ridge Estates.
