Mrs. Mary Lynn Aldridge, age 67, of Gaylesville, AL, died Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at her residence.

Mrs. Aldridge was born December 11, 1957, in Trion, GA, daughter of the late Raymond F. and Cathryn Inez Hughes Sims. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Aldridge enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and arts and crafts.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Aldridge was preceded in death by her son, Robert Aldridge as well as several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Robert Aldridge; sons, J.W. (Christina) Aldridge, Frankie (Jennifer) Aldridge; daughters, Jennifer (Joseph) Tucker, Emily Aldridge Jones, and Misty Aldridge; 14 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Johnson Cemetery with Rev. Steve Collins officiating. Active pallbearers will be J.W. Aldridge, Frankie Aldridge, Joseph Tucker, Jimmy Miller, Cecil Ferguson, and B.J. White. Honorary pallbearers will be her daughters and daughters-in-law.

Ms. Shirley Ann Crain, age 89, of Menlo, GA, died Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Oakview Health and Rehabilitation.

Ms. Crain was born August 5, 1935, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late Lillard and Maude Bennett Smith. She was a member of Menlo First Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Crain was preceded in death by her siblings, Doyle Smith, Mell Smith, Claude Smith, and Edna Willingham; nephews, Terry Glenn Willingham, Donnie Smith, and Ray Smith.

Survivors include her nieces, Pam Willingham, Deborah Lieske; special niece, Anita (Eddie) Smith; nephews, Greg Smith and Mark Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, May 4, 2025, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Roach officiating. Interment will follow in Subligna Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Greg Smith, Mark Smith, Eddie Smith, Chamie Willingham, Chuck Powell, and Matthew Willingham. Mr. Tony Dewayne Noles, age 59, of Summerville, GA, died Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Atrium Health Floyd.

Mr. Noles was born July 12, 1965, in Summerville, GA, son of Patricia Ann Walters Noles and the late Loyd Lee Noles. He was employed in the Maintenance Department at Mohawk Industries.

Survivors include his wife, Terri Ann Daley Noles; sons, Nathan Noles, Levi Noles; daughters, Heather (Dustin) Hines, Tonya (Tyler) Wesson; mother, Pat Noles; brother, Shane Noles; sister, Regina Daley; grandchildren, Isaac, Isis, Brantley, Kneeland, Karlynn, Emery, Camron, Breaton, Miracle, Addy, Honesty, Meranda, Brier, and Tyler; and great-grandchildren, Madilynn, Asher, and Brynlee.

Margaret Ann Brown Craig, Obit (ER)

MRS. MARGARET ANN BROWN CRAIG, age 80, of #212 Roberts Street, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Monday morning, April 22, 2025, at Her residence. A native of Trion, Georgia, she was born to the late Joe W. and Flossie Holloway Brown on December 8, 1944. Mrs. Craig was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, and member of United By Faith. In addition to Parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, the late Mildred Barlow, brothers, the late Emmett Brown and David Brown, and great grandchildren the late Nora Dodd, Conor Dodd, and Bentley Wilson.

Surviving are Her loving husband, Leon Craig; daughters, Margie Teague, Missy Wilson, and Teresa Simon; son, Joe “Shorty” Craig; sister, Dean Ponder; brothers, Virgil Brown and Frank Brown; Nine Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 25th, at 1:00 P.M. from the United by Faith Church with Pastor Barry Brown and Chaplain Sam Reese officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery. Active Pallbearers Shorty Craig, Kim Peague, David Wilson, Brandon Brown, D. J. Craig, and Jerry Wilson.

Mr. David Joe Gill, age 51, of Menlo, GA, died Thursday, April 17, 2025, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Mr. Gill was born April 4, 1974, in Fort Oglethorpe, GA, son of Kathy Cooper Gill and the late Roy Gill. He loved fishing with his son, Hunter, and his brother, Stanley. Mr. Gill was employed with Mohawk Industries.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Edna Gill; and maternal grandparents, James and Arie Cooper.

Survivors include his son, Hunter Gill; mother, Kathy Gill; sister, Christy (Chris) Drury; brother, Stanley Gill; girlfriend, Chanda Daniels; niece, Kelly Gill; nephew, Chris (Audrey) Drury; and several cousins.

Mr. Marvin F. Hunter, age 87, of Summerville, GA, died Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at his residence.

Mr. Hunter was born September 30, 1937, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Lee and Pluma McGuire Hunter. He was a member of the Summerville Pentecostal Worship Center, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Coosa Valley Contractors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Kevin Christopher Hunter; brothers, Leroy Hunter, Eddie Lee Hunter; sisters, Ruby Clements, Geraldine Baldwin; and a nephew, Roy Hunter.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Bell Sims Hunter; a son, Larry (A.J.) Hunter; daughters, Sandra Crowe, Fran (Randall) Hamilton; 5 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

MR. JOHN WALKER – Age 62, of Trion, Georgia passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025. He was born on October 6, 1962 to his late mother, Sarah Walker and father, Billy Allmond. A graduate of Chattooga High School and hobbies were detailing cars, cooking and playing Empire Games. He was a member of New Spirit and Truth Church. His brothers, Vance Walker, Lovette Walker and sister-in-law, Lisa Walker preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Samantha Walker; daughters, Ashley Hudgins, Leslie (Kassie) Hudgins and Alexus Allgood; sons, Shawn Graves and Marcus Sisk; eight grandchildren, sisters, Joyce Walker and Patricia Groce; brother, Brandon Walker; special nieces, Jakerna (Kedrick) Walker and Jakyia Walker and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at New Spirit and Truth Assembly of God, 487 Scoggins Street, Summerville, Georgia, 30747 with Bishop V. T. Harden and other ministers officiating.

Mr. Justin Ryan Lewis, age 35 of Summerville, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025 at a local emergency facility.

Justin was born in Ft. Payne, Alabama on September 10, 1989, son of Jimmy Ray Lewis and the late Melinda Sueanne Justice Lewis Sparks. He was formerly employed with Perdue Chicken in Trion. Justin was an avid music lover, enjoyed reading and anime, but his favorite activity was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his mother, Justin was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jazzlyn Grace Crump.

Justin is survived by his wife, Brandie Lewis; father, Jimmy Lewis; stepchildren, Jonathan Dakota Crump(Brooke), Gary Bryson Crump, Jr. and Samantha Star Lynn Crump; grandparents, Jean and William “Buck” Baker; sister, Brooke Johnson(John) grandchildren, Nehaeh Crump, Jonathan Dakota Crump, Jr., Jemma Mae Crump, Jaxon Gage Crump, Janiah Bryson Crump, Luna Mae Crump, Christian Michael Fay Thompson, Samuel Alfred Braylin Crump, Noah Takeis Jackson and Skylee Grace Crump; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and additional family members.

Brinley Alexandria Corbin, Obit (M)

Ms. Brinley Alexandria Corbin, age 26, of Trion, Georgia, transitioned from her earthly life to her heavenly home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Brinley was born on May 9, 1998, in Rome, Georgia. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia having received a bachelor’s degree in advertising and a certificate in music business. Immediately prior to her cancer diagnosis, Brinley was employed as a venue and operations coordinator with the State Room in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Though her life ended way too soon, Brinley made the most of it. She enjoyed traveling, especially to national parks and loved to find exciting seasonal jobs from Nantucket, Massachusetts to Alta, Utah. As a prolific listener of music, Brinley attended many concerts in multiple venues across the United States. When not traveling or listening to music, she enjoyed reading, binge watching her favorite shows, shopping, and fully enjoying life from hiking to jumping out of an airplane.

Brinley will be remembered for her radiant smile, kindness to others, adventurous spirit, and love for her family and friends.

Brinley is survived by her parents, Christopher L. and Staci B. Corbin; her brothers, C. Brock Corbin and Bryant L. Corbin; her grandmothers, Peggy B. Brizendine and Betty F. Corbin; her “sister” and lifelong friend, Kerrigan Ramsey Moore; very special friend, Sid Lanier; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandfathers, Frank D. Brizendine and Jerry R. Corbin.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 13, 2025, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jared Pickard officiating.

Jerry David “Hollywood” Holbrook, Obit (M)

Jerry David “Hollywood” Holbrook passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at the age of 74, surrounded by the love of his family. Known for his larger-than-life personality, his love of music, and his passion for living life on his own terms, Jerry leaves behind a legacy as colorful and enduring as the tunes he so loved to play.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Dorothy Holbrook; his brother and sister-in-law, Ollie and Linda Holbrook; his sister, Linda Adkins; and his longtime companion and love, Deborah “DJ” Jones.

Jerry is survived by his children: Tammy (Dwayne) Wissinger of Resaca, GA, Kenneth Holbrook of Resaca, GA, Kelsea Tucker of Summerville, GA, and Pati Ware of Santa Fe, TN; Hope (Don) Oliver of Unionville, MI,; a sister, Marlene (Larry) Hardwick. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his faithful four-legged friend, “Champ,” who rarely left his side.

A lifelong lover of bluegrass and country music, Jerry played in several bands throughout his life, sharing his talent and joy with all who listened. He had a knack for “wheeling and dealing,” always on the lookout for the next great trade or treasure. Jerry was an avid fisherman and hunter who found peace in the great outdoors and he never shied away from a gamble—whether at life, a slot machine, or a poker table.

Those who knew Jerry will remember his quick wit and his ability to find laughter in the unexpected. “Hollywood” lived boldly and leaves behind stories that will be told for generations.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 12, 2025, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow in the Chattooga Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Rusty Dooley, James “Roho” Tucker, Brandon Rhinehart, Payton Ware, Joey McNair, and Tony Fountain. Eddie Kennedy will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
