MS. CLEO FLOYD, age 91, of Lick Skillet Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018, at her residence. She was born in Lyerly, Georgia, Chattoogaville Community, on September 5, 1926, a daughter of the late John L. and Lena Mae Poovey Floyd. Ms. Floyd was retired from the Georgia Rug Mill preparation department.

Surviving are daughters, Glenda Norton and Jackie Weaver; son, Robbie Marshall; sister-in-law, Mammie Lou Floyd; grandchildren, Barry, Stacey, and Jason Vaughn, Gary and Chris Cook, Lorie Raburn, and Leslie Helton; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Mrs. Doris Imogene Patteson, age 81 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the residence of her son in Cornelia, Georgia.

Mrs. Patterson was born in Trion, Georgia on May 9, 1936.  She was employed with the State of Georgia and was a member of the Subligna Baptist Church.  Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by a sister, Nola Palmer and a brother, Bob Dover.

Mrs. Patterson is survived by her sons, Michael Hall Patterson of Cornelia and David Wayne Patterson of Armuchee; Brother, Hubert Dover of Subligna; sisters, Ann Cooke of Tallahassee, Betty Dover and Helen Ponder of Subligna; granddaughter, Heather Patterson and grandson, Zachary Harris and their 3 children, Christina Alexander, Noah Michael Alexander and Brady Alexander and granddaughter, Autumn Patterson and her 2 children, Abigail Mae Barnett and Allison Maclynn Barnett; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services for Mrs. Patterson will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Bishop officiating.

MR. WILLIAM PRESTON (BILL) GREEN, age 85, of Holland Road, Rome, Georgia passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at his residence. Mr. Greer was born on October 6, 1932 in Farrell, Alabama, a son of the late William Thermon and Jane Ray Greer. He was a member of the Rome Church of Christ, was retired from Temple-Inland Corporation, and was a avid bee keeper.

Surviving are His wife, Rita Greer; daughters and spouses, Wilma & Terry Maynard and Gail & Mike Burnett; sons and spouses, Preston & Kay Greer and Ashley & Elizabeth Greer; Eight Grandchildren, Four Great Grandchildren, sisters, Mary & Bo Bohannon and Nancy & Ralph Mann; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Mrs. Ophelia Vivian Brooks, Obit. (M)

Mrs. Ophelia Vivian Brooks, age 87, of Summerville, GA, died Monday, February 5, 2018, at the Oakview Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Brooks was born June 20, 1930, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late Dewey and Myrtle Maynor Maxey.  She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Brooks; son, Jimmy Wayne Brooks; brothers, Johnny Maxey, Dewey Maxey, Jr., Jerry Maxey; and a sister, Annell Smith.

Mrs. Brooks is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Doris Maxey, Rickey and June Maxey, Doris Maxey, Shirley Holt, Mary Alice Maxey; sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Tommy Holt, Cathryn and Leon Pittman; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brooks will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 8, 2018, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Terry Combs officiating.  Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Oakview Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Brooks will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Thursday.
