Mr. John D. Sanders, age 47, of Summerville, GA, died Saturday, July 18, 2015, at his residence.
Mr. Sanders was born February 21, 1968, in Dalton, GA, son of the late John Henderson Sanders and Lou Senda Eller Sanders.  He was employed with Mohawk. 
Mr. Sanders is survived by his sisters, Ivy Trammell, Jane Carlton, and Jo Ann Sanders; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Mr. Sanders will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 25, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Barrett officiating.

Mrs. Flora Willis Ford Cook Obit (M)

Mrs. Flora Willis Ford Cook, age 79, of Summerville, GA, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at her residence.

 

Mrs. Cook was born July 26, 1935, in Teloga, GA, daughter of the late Cicero J. and Lula Pettyjohn Ford.  She was a homemaker and was Church of Christ by faith.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Cook.

 

Mrs. Cook is survived by her son, Larry "Cowboy" Cook; daughters, Robin Cook Eberhart and Beverly Cook Johnson; a brother, Frank Ford; grandsons, Terry Cook, Jason Hunt, Dale Cook, and Justin Cook; step-grandson, Austin Eberhart; great-granddaughters, Shelby Cook and Elizabeth Cook; and a special friend, Jerry Hogg.

 

Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Cook will be held at 12:00 Noon Thursday, July 23, 2015, from the Macedonia Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Norton officiating.

 

Mrs. Cook will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Thursday.

Mr. Al Ray McCutchins Obit (Willis)

MR. AL RAY MCCUTCHINS – Age 56, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at his residence. He was the son of the late George and Eula Mae London McCutchins and was preceded in death by his nephews Isiah McCutchins and Trevor Montgomery. He attended Trion High School and was employed as a cook at Longhorn Restaurant and Dalton Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his son, Quinncy McCutchins; granddaughter, Quinniesha McCutchins; sisters, Ann Montgomery, Mona Lisa (Mike McGhee) McCutchins, Vivian Wells, Anita McCutchins, and Anna (Johnny Garrett) McCutchins; brothers, Rogers (Apostle Dr. Jennifer) London, and Tracey (Sandy) McCutchins; brother-in-law, Ronald Montgomery; aunt, Aliena McCutchins; and uncle, Robert Leggings; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 1:00 P. M. at the New Sprit and Truth of Jesus Church, 487 Scoggins St., Summerville, GA. with Apostle Dr. Jennifer London, Eulogist and Bishop V. T. Hardin officiating. Rev. Annie Mae Thurman Sturdivant Obit (Willis)

REV. ANNIE MAE THURMAN STURDIVANT- Age 86, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015. She was born in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Ernest and Johnnie M. Gaines Thurman. She served in the Methodist A.M.E. Churches in the Tennessee and the North Georgia area. Her husband, Rev. Walter Sturdivant, five brothers, and one sister, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sister, Ernestine (Jacob) Ramsey of Canton, Mississippi; niece, Brenda (David) Williamson of Summerville, Georgia; nephews, James (Glenise) Thurman of Rome, Georgia and Vernon (Sandy) Thurman of Summerville; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the New Spirit and Truth of Jesus Christ Church, 487 Scoggins St., with Bishop V. T. Hardin and other ministers officiating. Mrs.Mae (Frances) Morris(W)

MRS.MAE FRANCES(PARKER) MORRIS – Age 47, of Sidney,Ohio passed away Monday July 13, 2015 at her residence after a long battle with cancer. Mae was born in Summervile, Gergia to the late Eugene Parker and Lucille ( Cooper) Parker on August 28, 1967. On November 10 1997 she married to Terry Tyrone Morris and was preceded in death by two brothers, Freddie McCutchins and Joe Nathan McCutchins, and one sister, Linda Wiggins.Mae is also survived by her husband, Terry Tyrone Morris;son,Sidney Lavett Johnson, Jr, grandchildren, Sienna Lee Johnson, Samaria  Lazia Johnson and Sidney Lavett Johnson; a host of many nieces,nephews,cousins, other relatives and friends.The Morris Family would like to express their heartfelt "Thanks" to all the caregivers at the Cancer Treatment Center Of American, in Chicago,Illinois, for the compassionate care that Mae received throughout her illness. Mr.James Edward Tidmore (M)

James Edward Tidmore, age 77, of Summerville, GA, died Thursday, July 16, 2015, at his residence.

 

Mr. Tidmore was born June 1, 1938, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Turner Hugh and Parlie Brown Tidmore.  He was a member of the Harvest Worship Center, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills.  Mr. Tidmore was also a veteran of the United States Army where he served as a Paratrooper.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Joe "Junior" Tidmore, J. B. Tidmore, and Robert Nathan Tidmore; and a sister, Emma Frances Tidmore.

 

Mr. Tidmore is survived by his wife, Imogene Patterson Tidmore; son and daughter-in-law, Jamy and Marcia Tidmore; a daughter, Tammy Tidmore Lay; a sister, Emma Lee Tidmore; grandchildren, Turner Lay, Jared Lay, and Zach Mildren; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Tidmore will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 18, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phil Minter and Rev. Butch Tanner officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be grandsons, nephews, and Howard Adams.

Mrs. Hazel Mae Ingram Obit (ER)

MISS HAZEL MAE INGRAM, age 75, of March Lane, Pennville Community, Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015, afternoon at her residence. A native of Trion, Georgia, She was born to the late Thomas Franklin and Edith Marie Campbell Ingram on May 5, 1940. She was a member of the Harrell Street Church of God, an accomplished musician, especially on the guitar, piano, and organ. Miss Ingram formerly owned and operated several grocery stores and was retired from Mount Vernon Mills, bleaching department, with 35 years of service.

Surviving are sisters and spouses, Helen Marie & Michael T. Tucker of Summerville, Janie Sue & Sonny Roberts of Rome, and Bonnie Ruth Teems of Summerville; brother, Danny Lee Ingram of Gore Community, Summerville; former husband, Leon Dyer of LaFayette; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 20th, at 3:00 P.M. from the Harrell Street Church of God with Brother Rockland Hughes and Brother Denny Smith officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery. Active Pallbearers Stephen Little, Randy Teems, Joey Roberts, Tony Roberts, Shawn Tucker, and Tyler Bledsoe. Mr. Calvin Deering Obit (M)

Mr. Calvin Deering, age 70, of Gaylesville, AL, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at his residence.

 

Mr. Deering was born February 3, 1945, in Summerville, GA, son of the late James Alfred and Ruby Imogene Cavin Deering.  He was a member of the Chesterfield Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam.  He was also a member of the Foxhunters Club and served as a little league baseball coach.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Evans; a brother, Buddy Deering; a sister, Joyce Cagle; and a grandson, D. J. Seghorn.

 

Mr. Deering is survived by his wife, Pat Deering; daughters and sons-in-law, April and David Seghorn, Robin and Teddy Calvert, Stormy and Shane Hatcher; a sister and brother-in-law, Deloris and Ricky Philpot; grandchildren, Hope and Josh Deal, Dustin Seghorn, Angie Calvert, Andreah Calvert, and Alyssa Calvert; great-grandchildren, Lia Seghorn, Brylen Deal, and Elijah Seghorn.

Mrs. Mildred June Marshall, age 84, of Lyerly, GA, died Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

 

Mrs. Marshall was born June 20, 1931, in Broomtown, AL, daughter of the late Lee Roy and Sally Catherine Todd Wade.  She was a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Mohawk Industries.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Howard Marshall; sons, Charles Marshall and Frankie Marshall; a brother, Lee R. Wade; sisters, Bonnie Faye Hurley and Lillie Mae Jennings.

 

Mrs. Marshall is survived by her son and daughters-in-law, Steve and Ginger Marshall, Kathy Marshall; daughters and son-in-law, Gail and Dennis Moseley, Darlene Smith; a sister, Catherine Elizabeth Brewster; grandchildren, Kim Baker, Angie Harrell, and Richard Mobbs; great-grandchildren, Xavier Dekarske, Abby Baker, Trini Harrell, Jerzie Mobbs, Kristin Mobbs, and Haley Studdard; and a special person, Megan Mobbs.
