MRS. SHERRY DIANE KIRBY, age 66, of Montgomery Street, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, in a Rome hospital. Mrs. Kirby was born on July 15, 1958 in Summerville, Georgia, a daughter of the late Fred Miller and Martha Lou Clark Money; She was a Homemaker and Baptist by Faith. In addition to Parents, She was preceded in death by a brother, the Late Clark Money.

Surviving are Her husband, Ed Kirby; sisters, Lisa Keen, Buffy Money, and A. J. Martin; brother, Todd Money; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 2nd, at 1:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Stroop officiating, interment in Johnson Cemetery. Active Pallbearers, Chase Lively, Bryan Barnes, Allen Keen, Ty Hutchins, Ethan Young, and Nish Patel. The Family will receive friends Monday from 12 noon until 1:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Windy Ann Campbell, age 46 of Summerville, Georgia passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 28, 2024.

Windy was born in Kentucky on September 17, 1976, daughter of Larry Coleman Ray and the late Katherine Clark Ray. She had attended the Solid Rock Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed watching TV and loved being around her grandchildren. In addition to her mother, Windy was preceded in death by a daughter, Charity Ann Mitchell and a brother, Chris Ray.

Windy is survived by her children, Autumn Ray(Oran Smith) and Haven Campbell; father, Larry Coleman Ray; brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Robin Ray; grandchildren, Amelia Smith and Katherine Smith; nephew, Chris Ray; nieces, Candace Ray, Katherine Ray, Avinlee Ray and Sheena Guzman; and a number of additional nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Mr. Richard Teems, age 66, of Summerville, GA, died Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Advent Health Redmond.

Mr. Teems was born March 8, 1958, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Auther Buster Teems and Mary Eleam Teems. He was employed with K & L Dawson Logging. Mr. Teems was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 8 siblings and 1 great-grandson; as well as a brother-in-law, Wallace Money.

Survivors include his sons, Tim Teems, Richard (Laura) Teems; daughters, Amy (Bo) Ray, Mamie (Shane) Russell, Tiffany (Joey) Dempsey; brothers, Ralph (Brenda) Teems, Ray (Martha) Teems, Ricky (Sheri) Teems; sisters, Peggy Money, Susie (Jimmy) Dawson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 2, 2024, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ray Teems and Pastor Jason Teems officiating. Interment will follow in Silver Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bobby West, Tony Bannister, Kenneth Dawson, Lee Dawson, Danny McGraw, and Jimmy Vasser. Honorary pallbearers will be Bradin Suits, Cody Stewart, Landon Dempsey, Luke Hughes, Chris Lawson, and Lane Hughes.

Mr. Brent M. Cooper, age 53 of Gore-Subligna Community, Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at a Rome hospital.

Brent was born in Rome, Georgia on August 3, 1971, son of the late Jerry Cooper and Kathryn Elizabeth Hix Cooper. He was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church and was retired from the Mt. Vernon Mills. He enjoyed reading and gardening. In addition to his parents, Brent was preceded in death by his grandparents, Steve and Anna Norman Hix.

Brent is survived by an aunt, Linda Cumbaa; and a number of additional extended family members.

Memorial Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Subligna Cemetery with Pastor Jody Brock officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Azie Louella Todd Crane age 84 of Trion, GA passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024 at a Pruitt Health Care.

Mrs. Crane was born May 13, 1940 in Ringgold, AL to the late Milton & Ethel McCullough Todd . She was a member of Dry Valley Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her loving family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Clinton Crane; siblings, Johnny Milton Todd and Louise Virginia Todd Bynum; sister-in-laws, Mary Hartline Todd and Charlotte Kay Johnson Todd; brother-in-law Charles Bynum, Jr.; and nephew, Jeffery Milton Todd.

Survivors include her children, Linda Gail (Michael) Ray and Starla Evette Young; honorary son-in-law, Greg Harrison: siblings, Gene F. (Vera) Todd and Karen Elaine Hammitt (Lee) Warren; and grandchildren, Linda Michelle (Kelly) Floyd, and Jesse Alan Young; great-grandchildren, Tyler Kelly Floyd and Chloe Michelle Floyd; special nephews, Buster Bynum & Dewayne Bynum; along with several other loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Crane will take place at 5:00 PM Wednesday, November 27 at the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Chaplain Matthew Willingham officiating.
Interment will be at 2:00 PM EST Friday November 29 at Unity Cemetery with Buster Bynum, DeWayne Bynum, John Todd, Kelly Floyd, Tyler Floyd, and Jesse Young serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Hope Marie Floyd, age 90 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024 at the residence of her son in Trion.

Mrs. Floyd was born in Rome, Georgia on June 24, 1934, daughter of the late James Andy Vinyard and Elsie Mae Chapman Vinyard. She was a member of the Pennville Church of Christ and was retired from Best Manufacturing. Christmas was her favorite time of year. Mrs. Floyd enjoyed watching Soap Operas and attending Soap Opera Conventions. She loved to garden, crochet and make crafts of all kinds, but her favorite activity was spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by sisters, Frances Pettyjohn and Lucy Shropshire; brothers, J.T. Vinyard, Billy Vinyard and Franklin Vineyard; grandchildren, Jason Rogers and Lettie Stoner; and a daughter-in-law, Darlene Floyd.

Mrs. Floyd is survived by a daughter, Gina Rogers; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Mary Floyd, Jerry Floyd and James and Dale Floyd; sister, Charlotte Fortenberry; sisters-in-law, Betty Vinyard and Mary Floyd Hampton; cousins, Walter Hugh and Kay Vinyard; 11 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Floyd will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Minister of the Gospel, Rodney Stephens and Minister of the Gospel Robby Eversole officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Justin Rogers, David Rogers, Johnathan Floyd, Nick Floyd, Trevor Curtis and Sammy Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and all family members.

Mr. Benjamin Alfred “Billy” Blalock, age 93, of Lyerly, GA, died Saturday, November 23, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Blalock was born April 25, 1931, in Broomtown, AL, son of the late Calvin and Don Hartline Blalock. He was a member of Perennial Springs Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Mohawk Industries for 45 years. Mr. Blalock was also a proud veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Hugh Blalock, Bobby Blalock, and Ronald Blalock; sisters, Nell Dodd and Kathryn Vernon; and a grandson, Steven Matthew Blalock.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Parker Blalock; sons, Steve Blalock, Dwight (Donna) Blalock; daughter, Zebbie (Harold) Brewster; step-daughter, Elaine (Stewart) Toles; step-sons, Sidney (Pamela) Tibbs, and Randy Tibbs; a brother, Harold Blalock; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Madeline Cheryl Bartlett Stephens, Obit (C)

Mrs. Madeline Cheryl Bartlett Stephens, age 77 of Trion, Georgia passed away Friday, November 22, 2024 in Rome.

Mrs. Stephens was born in Trion, Georgia on March 11, 1947, daughter of the late William Frank “Bill” Bartlett and Mozelle Irene Ozment Bartlett. She was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church and prior to retirement was employed as a medical coder with Dr. Gary Smith and Dr. Richard Smith. Mrs. Stephens was an excellent cook and loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Lesley Biddle.

Mrs. Stephens is survived by her husband, Tommy Stephens; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Julie Stephens; grandchildren, Julianne and Jared Trammell, Jessica Stephens, Joseph Farmer and Lauren Neal; great granddaughter, Kaya Neal; nephew, Jamie and Myra Biddle; and a number of additional nieces and nephews.

Graveside and Interment services for Mrs. Stephens will be held Monday, November 25, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the Green Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Rickey Biddle officiating.

There will be no formal visitation.

Those attending the graveside service are asked to assemble at the Green Hills Memory Gardens at 1:45 P.M. on Monday.

Mr. Harold Glenn Leming, age 74, of the Wayside Community, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.

Mr. Leming was born November 28, 1949, in Trion, GA, son of the late Howard Ray Leming and Arvaleen Sisson Leming. He was a member of South Commerce Church of Christ and prior to his retirement, was employed with Blue Bird.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hugh Leming.

Harold, better known as “Papa,” was a kind, loving man who never met a stranger. Harold married the love of his life, Martha, on December 24, 1969, and over the next 55 years, they set an amazing example of what unconditional love truly is. Together, they raised 3 sons, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. To say “Papa” will be greatly missed is an understatement, but his legacy will live on in those who remember the way he lived and loved. So, to Papa, rest easy. We will always love you more!

Mr. Watwood was born September 13, 1986 in Gasden, AL, the son of the late Jackie Watwood. He worked as an inspector at Mt. Vernon Mills prior to his retirement.
