VICKIE EUGENIA YOUNG GOODGAME– Age 60, of Summerville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016.  She was born in Walker County, Georgia to James and Edna Earl Shropshire Young and was the widow of the late Robert Lee Goodgame. Her brothers, Bobby Ray Young, Harold Young, Van Lee Young and sister, Charlotine Marlin preceded her in death. She was employed at Mohawk Industries for over 25 Years.

Survivors are her daughter, Marquita Gasell Goodgame (Anthony Dozier); two sons, Jeremy Antone Young and Nakonya Sanders; grandchildren, Monet Amor Hatcher and Makyleri Divine Goodgame and sisters, Pennie Faye McCutchins all of Summerville, Georgia, Jane Frances Smith of Macon, Georgia; brother, Lester Earl Young of Rome, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relative, and friends.

Home Going Service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at New Spirit and Truth Assembly of Jesus, 487 Scoggins Street, Summerville, Georgia with Bishop V.T. Harden officiating. Mrs. Rebecca Charmin “Brandie” Bryant Obit (C)

Mrs. Rebecca Charmin “Brandie” Bryant, age 58 of Summerville, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Kindred Hospital in Rome.

 

Mrs. Bryant was born in Denver, Colorado on June 13, 1958, daughter of the late Earle Laughlin and Violet Scruggs Laughlin.  She and her husband often served as the Santa and Mrs. Claus for the City of Summerville Christmas festivities.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Laughlin.

 

Mrs. Bryant is survived by her husband, Robert Bryant; son , Bobby Bryant’ daughters, Rebecca White, Krity Pena and Cheyenne Bryant; brothers, Dicky Laughlin, Pete Laughlin, Albert Laughlin and Leland Laughlin; sister, Nora Maze; half sister, Glenis Davis; grandchildren, Madison Shaw, Mila Shaw, Autumn Pena, Ashley Pena, Anthony Bryant, Corey Bryant, and Caylin White; and a number of nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Bryant will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home.

 

Mrs. Bryant will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 5 until 7 P.M.

Ms. Gloria Jean Bohannon, age 72, of Cedar Bluff, AL passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL.

Ms. Bohannon was born October 29, 1943 to the late James Haggard and Lela Mae Garmany Haggard and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her sons; James R. (Loretta) Ramza and Michael E. (Rena) Ramza, sisters; Lonna Faye Black and Barbara Dean Sanford, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Walter Glenn Dockery, age 92, of Gaylesville, AL passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at Floyd Medical Center.
Mr. Dockery was born January 24, 1924 in Gaylesville, AL, son of the late William and Flora Inlow Dockery. He was retired from Klopman Mills and was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Gaylesville.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Dockery was preceded in death by his sisters; Edith Bagley, Edgel Sparks, Irene Jones, Vera Jones, and Mabel Sticher; and brothers; Clarence Dockery, Gerald Dockery, and Cleo Dockery.
Mr. Dockery is survived by his wife,  Imogene Hasty Dockery; son and daughter-in-law, Doak and Linda Dockery; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Doyle Owens; sister, Bobbie Buffington; grandchildren, Maggie Stansell, Carl and Heather Owens, Tiffany and Jay Blackburn; and great-grandchildren, Maddie and Reece Owens, Ava and Owen Blackburn, and Carson Kirby.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. (E.S.T.) Saturday, October 8, 2016, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Rainey and Rev. Mrs. Mary Lou Smith Cordell, 90, of Summerville, GA passed away Thursday, October 06, 2016 at Floyd Medical Center.
Mrs. Cordell was born November 30, 1925 on DeKalb, AL to the late Gordon and Johnnie Prestwood Smith. She was retired from Best Manufacturing and was a member of Pennville First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cordell is preceded in death by her husband; Manuel H. Cordell.
Mrs. Cordell is survived by her son; Eugene (Peggy) Cordell, Daughter Donnie Sue (Jerry) Brown, brother; Jim (Brenda) Smith, sisters; Janet (H.A.) Wilborn, Polly Tribble, and Freda Miller, grandchildren; Jerry Eugene Brown, Dustin Cordell, and Laura Lee Gann, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 8 at 4:00 PM at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Wynn officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens with Dustin Cordell, Rick Gann, Eddie Henderson, and Greg Harrison serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Allie Jo Hughes, age 70, of Summerville, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at Floyd Medical Center.
Mrs. Hughes was born March 7, 1946, daughter of the late Guy and Allison Jenkins Mitchell.  She was Baptist by faith, and prior to her retirement, had worked as a daycare worker at the Academy for Little People.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Freddy Mitchell and Stanley Mitchell; and a sister, Patricia Burlene Hilding.
Mrs. Hughes is survived by her husband, Howard Virgil Hughes, Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Howard Virgil Jr. and Ann Hughes; daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Joan and Randy Bishop, Tammy Christine Lau; brother, James Mitchell; sisters, Amanda Watson and Barbara Griffin; grandchildren, Stephanie Blackmon, Shannon Curtis, Samantha Hughes, and R. J. Bishop; great-grandchildren, Pierce Blackmon, Kade Blackmon, and Millie Blackmon.

Mr. Walter Harlen Williams, Obit. (C)

Mr. Walter Harlen Williams, age 86 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 2, 2013 at the Oak View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

 

Mr. Williams was born in Trion, Georgia on April 17, 1930, son of the late George Harlen Williams and Mary Dawson Williams.  He was a retired Baptist Minister, serving in several area churches, including Friendship Baptist Church in Trion and Fellowship Baptist Church in Jamestown, AL.  He was also retired from Best Manufacturing, where he worked as a supervisor in the Coating Department.  Mr. Williams was a member of the Pennville Baptist Church, and loved woodworking, gardening and visiting people.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a his wife, Carolyn Smith Williams; son, Ronnie Carl Williams, and a sister, Grace Brown.

 

Mr. Williams is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Harry Junkins; grandchildren, Jamey Cooper and Joy and Dwayne Hampton; great grandchildren, Railey Cooper, Ally Cooper, Ely Cooper and Cooper Hampton; and a special friend, Margaret Westbrook.

 

Funeral Services for Mr. Williams will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Dempsey and Rev. Mike Odom officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be Jamey Cooper, Dwayne Hampton, Randy Hunter, Gary Howell, Pete Hampton and Bob Agnew.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of the Pennville Baptist Church and the Staff and Residents of Oak View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Dale White, age 68, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at his residence.

 

Mr. White was born in Lafayette, Georgia on September 9, 1948, son of the late Charles W. White and Evelyn Rogers White. Mr. White was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. and was a member of the Dry Valley Baptist Church.  Until retiring, He was self-employed as a carpenter, and loved to fish. In addition to his parents, Mr. White was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Preston White; Grandparents, Joseph W. and Annie Byars White and Newt and Birdie Rogers.

 

Mr. White is survived by his wife, Mary Ann White, son and daughter –in-law, Michael and Betty White; Daughters, Suzanne Willis and Amber Dayle White; step-son, Shawn White; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Lowell and Nancy

White, Noland and Patsy White, Roger and Renee White; six grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Services for Mr. White will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October  4, 2016  in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy 
Weaver and Bro. Steve Skates officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery in Trion.
