Mr. Jimmy “Jack” Thomas, age 90, of Trion, Georgia, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at his residence.  

Mr. Thomas was born in Trion, Georgia on June 21, 1925, son of the late William Cleo Thomas and Clara Pierce Thomas.  He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy, a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ and was a self employed farmer.  Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Amy Jo Wilbanks Thomas on January 20, 2015; sister, Mary Ella Thomas, brothers, Max Thomas, Johnny Henry Thomas, Roy Thomas, Cecil Earl Thomas and a great grandson, Jackson Cole Hanes Thomas. 

Mr. Thomas is survived by a daughter, Jo Ann Clements; sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie and Kay Thomas, Arlen and Anna Thomas and Gary Thomas; sister, Goldie Patty; brother-in-law, Bobby Wilbanks; sister-in-law, Saralyn Thomas; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.  

Funeral Services for Mr. Thomas will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Minister Hugh Glaze officiating.  

Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Jeff Thomas, Jeremy Thomas, Kerry Thomas, Cole Thomas, Scott Clements, Cody Thomas, Maverick Herod and Andrew King.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Mr. Thomas’ great grandchildren. 

Mr. Thomas will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour.  The family of Mr. Thomas is accepting flowers, however, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.

MRS. JESSIE ANN HARDEMAN, age 87, of Goodwin Drive, Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday, Match 10, 2016, afternoon in a Rome hospital.  She was born on May 27, 1928 in the Martindale Community of Walker County, Georgia to the late William Bryan and Sarah Ann Brooks Fletcher.  Mrs. Hardeman was a Homemaker and member of the South Commerce Church of Christ.  She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, the late Amanda Blackwell Early.

Survivors include, Her husband, Paul Hardeman; daughter, Paula Montgomery; son, Brian Hardeman all of Summerville; grandchildren, Melissa & Britt Ragland; great grandchildren, Rodney Early, II, Kennedi, Alexa, Carsen, and Evan Ragland; brother, Benton Lee Fletcher of LaFayette; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 14th, at 11:00 A.M. from the South Commerce Church of Christ with Ministers Barry Gilreath, Jr. and Ron Tollette officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Brian Hardeman, John Montgomery, Brett Ragland, Rodney Early, Tyler Griffin, and Tyler Gilreath; Honorary Pallbearers Bill Speer, Leo Lanier, John Driver, Leroy Johnson, Preston Greer, Earl Kinsey, Will Greer, Harold Lemming, Ray Lemming.  The Family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 4 P.M. at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home.  Mrs. Hardeman will also be in state at the Church, Monday, from 10 A.M. until the hour of service.  Flowers are accepted or contributions may be made to the South Commerce Church of Christ.

Mrs. Shirley Ann Tapp, age 72, of Summerville, GA, passed away Saturday March 5, 2016 from injuries received in an automobile accident.

Mrs. Tapp was  born February 22, 1944, the daughter of the late George and Fannie Sosebee Brown.  She was a home maker and preceded in death by her husband, Horace Tapp, a sister, Betty Grace Tapp, niece, Mary Ann Tapp.

Survivors include children, Marie Tapp, Summerville, GA, Robert Tapp, Buford, GA, sisters, Foye Johnson, Catherine Burney, special niece, Margaret Lee Tapp, and several other nieces and nephew also survive Mrs. Shirley Ann Tapp.

Private Graveside service will be held Tuesday March 8, 2016 from the Old Trion Cemetery with Rev. Dean Tapp  officiating.

Mrs. Tapp will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family  will receive friends Monday March 7, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Benjamin Franklin “Benny” Perry, age 84, of Trion, GA died Friday, March 04, 2016 at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Perry was born March 25, 1931, the son of the late William Posey Perry and Alice Perry. He was owner and operator of Benny’s Tri-Sum Foods for many years.  Mr. Perry was a member of the Trion Masonic Lodge # 160, and the Yaarab Shriners Temple.  He was a member of Trion United Methodist Church.  Mr. Perry was former Mayor of the Town of Trion and former member and chairman of the Trion City School Board. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ann Duncan Perry and a daughter, Benjie Perry.

Mr. Perry is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Mike Klouda; sons and daughter-in-law, Tim and Deana Perry, and Lamar Logan; grandchildren, Perry Klouda, Benjie Klouda, Murphy Klouda, and Benjamin Perry.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Trion United Methodist Church with Rev. Art Graves and Rev. Skip Mitchell officiating; burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery with graveside Masonic rites conducted by Masonic Lodge #160.  Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Woodard, Kyle Hall, Tim Thompson, L. E. Day, Jimmy Rosato, Tab Gable, Perry Klouda, and Murphy Klouda.  Honorary pallbearers will be Brimp Warren, Bill Kinsey, Jack Allen, Mitchell Ollis, members of the Masonic Lodge #160, and all personal friends.

Mr. Perry will be in state at Trion United Methodist Church and the family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 12:00 noon until the service hour.  In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request memorials be made to Angel Tree of Trion School, the American Kidney Association, or to your favorite charitable organization.

MR. GLENN BUDDY WOFFORD, age 80, of Ball Ground, Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016.  Mr. Wofford served in the U. S. Army and enjoyed woodworking and NASCAR.

Surviving are wife, Hazel Wofford; daughter Melanie and Kenneth Thomas; son, Gary Wofford; step son, Tony and Jennifer Hughes; grandchildren, Heather and Scott Grubman and Lauren Thomas; step grandchildren, Davis, John, and Matthew Hughes; great great granddaughter, Alexis Grubman.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4th, at 2:00 P.M. from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home, in Canton, Georgia , with Rev. Mrs. Nancy Ann White, age 64, of Summerville, GA, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. White was born September 30, 1951, in Lyerly, GA, to the late Buster and Charlsie Price.  She retired from Roper Corporation in 2011 after 25 years of service.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Henry Thompson, Donald Price, and Buster Price, Jr.; sisters, Lucille Cameron, Pearline McCloud, Ruth Harkness, and Mae Nell Sperling.

Mrs. White leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 45 years and best friend, Arthur D. White; sons and daughter-in-law, Tyrone and Patrice White, Dewayne White; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Tommy Lawrence; brother, Ray Thompson; sister, Ruth Thompson; loving mother-in-law, Nellie White; grandchildren, Senorise Price, Mariah Price, Tommy Dakota and Tiffney Lawrence, and Cydni White; and a special niece, Cheryl L. "Sherlly Boo" Beedles.  16 nieces, 14 nephews, and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. White will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 5, 2016, from the North Summerville Baptist Church with Bishop V.T. Harden, Deacon Harold Thompson, and Pastor Kevin Roach officiating.  Interment will follow in the AMI Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be John Finley, Stan Nichols, Arthur Evans, Jerome Dozier, Dave Mosteller, Dan Mosteller, Scott Monton, and Mose Adams.  Flower bearers will be Mary Martin, Mae Emma Thompson, Marcella London, Jackie Parker, Irene Parker, Eyvonne Ethison, Peggy Perry, and Doris Shepherd.

Mrs. White will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday, March 4, 2016.  She will also be in state at North Summerville Baptist Church from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Saturday.
