Mr. Chad Dewayne Thompson, age 44, of Gaylesville, AL, died Monday, August 31, 2015, at U.A.B. Hospital in Birmingham.
 
Mr. Thompson was born November 8, 1971, in Tampa, FL, son of Dorothy Jean Teems Thompson and the late Charles Edward Thompson.  He was self-employed in landscaping.
 
Mr. Thompson is survived by his son, Tyler Thompson; a daughter, Caitlin Thompson; his mother, Dorothy Thompson; and a brother, Chuck Thompson.
 
Funeral services for Mr. Thompson will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 5, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Ledford officiating.  Interment will follow in the AMI Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jeff Ford, Edmond Brown, David Howard, Jeff Woodall, Anthony Ingle, Allen Barrett, and Ryan Thompson.
 
Mr. Thompson will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday, September 4, 2015.

Ms. Sandra Bernice Mosteller- age 55, of Summerville, GA passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Willie Mae Mosteller; brother, Bernard Mosteller.

Survivors are her sister, Glenice (James) Thurman of Rome, GA; brother, Daniel Mosteller of Summerville, GA and Samuel (Kim) Mosteller of Lithonia, GA.  Aunts, Mattie E Terry (Perry) Dent, Sr. of Columbus, GA, Bernice Terry of Union City, GA, and Ivera Terry Powell; uncles Jimmy L. (Thelma) Terry of Atlanta, GA, Clifford L. Terry of Park Forrest, IL, John Raymond Terry, and Samuel L. Terry of Manchester, GA, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Mr. Charles McDaniel Edwards obit (M)

Mr. Charles McDaniel Edwards, age 90, of Rome, GA, died Monday, August 31, 2015, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.  

Mr. Edwards was born August 13, 1925, in Summerville, GA, son of the late John Dewey and Ethel Wofford Edwards.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy, and prior to his retirement, was employed with General Motors. 

Mr. Edwards is survived by his sister-in-laws, Mable Coley, Ralph and Opal Sumner, Elizabeth Wofford; a cousin, Billy Edwards; his friend, Teresa Welch; and his caregivers, Inez Rowland, Beverly Sharp, Barbara Sharp, Mary Phillips, and Roberta Ibbetson. 

Funeral services for Mr. Edwards will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 2, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Martha Lamp officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Dalmous Richard Holbrook, age 67, of Trion, GA, passed away Saturday August 29, 2015, in Chattanooga, TN.   Mr. Holbrook was  born July 16, 1948,  in Summerville, GA, the son of Herbert and Bessie Stoker Holbrook.  He was employed with Trucktown of Summerville, and preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Jane Holbrook, Rebecca Holbrook, and a brother, Frank Holbrook.
 
Survivors include his wife, Mona Teresa Foster Holbrook, children, Dale Holbrook, Sunshine Holbrook, Teresa Holbrook, Wendy Holbrook, sister, Druceil Adkins, brothers, Virgil Holbrook, LeBron Holbrook, Ronald Durham, grandchildren, Tyler Bailey, Amber Bailey, Marley Wester, Grady Holbrook, Trey Holbrook and several nieces and nephew also survive Mr. Dalmous Richard Holbrook, SR.
 
Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday September 1, 2015 from the Mt Olive Cemetery with Bro. Steve Collins officiating with burial to follow in the family plot at Mt Olive Cemetery.  Active pallbearers, Shane Holbrook, Jimmy Holbrook, Michael Kirk, Gary Holbrook, James Arnold, Billy Joe Dooley.  Honorary pallbearers all employee’s and former employee’s of Trucktown, they are asked to meet at cemetery at 1:45 Tuesday.

MRS. NELLIE B. DAVENPORT, age 89, of Yarbrough Road, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015, at her residence.  A native Chattooga Countian, She was born to the late Roy Clinton and Hattie Lemuel Veatch Allmon, on July 6, 1926.  Mrs. Davenport was retired from the sewing department of the former Best Mfg. Company of Menlo, Georgia and a member of Chelsea Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Garner Earl Davenport; sisters, Sarah Evans, Margaret Knight, Zenter McHaffey, and Fannie Mae Hunter; brothers Rube Allmon, Cecil Allmon and Deforest Allmon.

Surviving are two daughters & spouses, Jeanette and Bill Shelby and Shirley and Albert Smith, Jr.; son & spouse, Benny and Karen Davenport; seven Grandchildren, twelve Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

MRS. JESSIE COLBERT PENDLAND, age 93, of Thomas Road, Trion, Georgia passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015, at her residence.  A native of Chattooga County, She was born to the late John Henry and Alloie Jo Robinson Dooley.  Mrs. Pendland attended the Trion Church of God, and was retired from the former Bed & Bath Shop.  She was preceded in death by former husbands, the late J. D. Colbert and the late William (Hank) Pendland; son, the late Jimmy Colbert; sisters, the late Lucille Dixon, Lottie Bishop, and Sybil Mershon; and brothers, the late Ollie Dooley, Wilburn Dooley, and J. H. Dooley.

                Surviving are daughters and spouse, Peggy Colbert Campbell and Paulette Colbert Owens and Melvin Owens; son & spouse, Doug and Carolyn Colbert; daughter-in-law, Janet Colbert; 10 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Mr. James Henry Rosser, age 73, of Trion, GA, died Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Redmond Regional Medical Center. 

Mr. Rosser was born September 27, 1941, in Trion, GA, son of the late John Henry and Lena Thrasher Rosser.  He attended the Trion Heights Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed with the Town of Trion.  Mr. Rosser was also a veteran of the United States Army.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Gentry Rosser; and a brother, Trent Rosser.

 Mr. Rosser is survived by his son, Jonathan Rosser; daughters, Nancy Adams and Jeannette Laney; brothers, Stan Rosser and Steve Rosser; a sister, Martha Cordle; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a special grandson, Zachary Eaton.  

Funeral services for Mr. Rosser will be held at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, August 30, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. MR. ROBERT E. (SPOOKY) DAWSON, age 62, of Gore-Subligna Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday afternoon in a Rome hospital.  He was born in Summerville, Georgia on October 31, 1952 to the late Lester M. and June Self Dawson.  Mr. Dawson was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and an avid cattle farmer.

        Surviving are his wife, Vickie Jo Dawson; daughter & spouse, Allison & Matt Eubanks of Summerville; grandchildren, Dawson Eubanks and Griffin Eubanks.
