Mrs. Dorothy Lee Mann Incomplete Obit (C)

Mrs. Dorothy Lee Mann, age 71 of Mtn. View Road, Trion, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2015 at her residence.

Mrs. Mann was born January 11, 1944, daughter of the late Leroy Reynolds and Rena Lucille MacNellie Reynolds. She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mann was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Mann, Sr., and a brother, Leroy “Buddy” Reynolds.

Mrs. Mann is survived by her sons, Wilson Mann, Jr. and Ronald Mann; daughters, Dorothy Weaver, Geneva Burrage, Beverly James and Annette Terry Elrod; brothers, Johnny Reynolds and David Reynolds; sisters, Helen Wade and Euvonne Bice; 21 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced by the Coffman Funeral Home.

Miss Mary Elizabeth Crowe (M)

Miss Mary Elizabeth Crowe, age 77, of Gaylesville, AL died Wednesday, April 01, 2015

at her residence.

 

Miss Crowe was born July 22, 1937 in Cherokee County, AL, New Moon Community,

the daughter of the late George Orr Crowe and Myrtle McCullough Crowe.  She was retired from Best Manufacturing.   Miss Crowe was a member of Mt. Zion Church.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, George Crowe, JR; and a niece, Tina Crowe Gazaway.

 

Miss Crowe is survived by a brother, William Frank “Bill” Crowe; and several

nieces, nephew, and cousins.

 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p. m. Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Mason

Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Roach officiating.  Burial will follow in

Mt. Zion Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Ralph Crowe, Georgie Crowe,

Coleman Thompson, and Marty Crowe.  Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny

Todd, Gene Todd, JR Hughes, Donald Joe Hughes, Chris Roach, Melissa Keith,

Heather Hamilton; and employees of ABC Hospice.

 

Miss Crowe will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive

friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p. m. on Thursday.  In lieu of flowers the family

respectfully request memorials be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund.

Mrs. Emma Ruth McDonald Obit (M)

Mrs. Emma Ruth McDonald, 84, of Menlo, GA died Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at

Redmond Regional Medical Center.

 

Mrs. McDonald was born August 26, 1930 in Stevenson, AL, the daughter of the

late George Alvin Cooper and Ethel Vinalia Golf Cooper.  She was a homemaker.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Revert McDonald; brothers, Lenard Cooper, Bill Cooper, and Red Cooper; and sisters, Ruby Pallocks and Gurthie Hampton.

 

Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Jordan; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth

Ray and Shari Cooper; brothers, Raymond Cooper and James Cooper; grandchildren,

Christy Cooper, Shirley Cooper, Kenny Cooper, Melody Galloway, Marie Johnston,

and Anona Szymanski; and 11 Great Grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Friday, April 3, 2015 at Mason Funeral

Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Cooper officiating.  Burial will follow in Lyerly

Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be William Parker, Jamie Tucker, Mark Fowler,

Michael Deaver, Jody Stephenson, and Ryan Copeland.

 

Mrs. McDonald will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive

friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. on Thursday, April 2, 2015.

Mr. Clarence Dell Ward Obit (M)

Mr. Clarence Dell Ward, age 85, of Trion, GA died Monday, March 30, 2015

at Floyd Medical Center.

 

Mr. Ward was born December 4, 1929 in Ringgold, GA, the son of the late Clarence

Frank Ward and Evelyn D. Snyder Ward.  He was retired from Shaw Industries.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Syble Louise Hollingworth Ward; and brothers, Arlen Ward and Farrell Ward.

 

Survivors include a daughter, Diane Blackmon; a sister, Faye Smith; grandchildren,

Lynn Bates and Adam Jenkins; and 4 Great Grandchildren.

 

Memorial graveside and interment services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Friday, April 3, 2015 at West Hill Cemetery.  Leon Woody will officiate. 

 

Family and friends are asked to meet at West Hill Cemetery at 1:45 PM on Friday.

Mrs. Ruth Percilla Ellison Obit (M)

Mrs. Ruth Percilla Ellison, age 79, of Summerville, GA died Monday, March 30, 2015

at her home.

 

Mrs. Ellison was born December 31, 1935 in Little Sand Mtn, GA.  She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Annie Belle Fincher Winters.  She was retired from Mohawk,

where she was a member of the 25 year Elite Club.  Other than her parents, Mrs.

Ellison was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Jaytee Ellison; and brothers,

Grady Winters and James Winters.

 

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Janet Ellison; sisters and

brother-in-law, Lena Ingle and Betty and Oliver Brown; brother and sister-in-law,

Joe and Jenny Winters; sister-in-law, Nell Winters; grandchildren, Michael Ellison, Matthew Ellison, and B. J. Ellison; 5 Great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Alice Herring; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015 with Bro. Glenn

Wilbanks officiating, with eulogy by Matthew Patrick Ellison. Burial will follow in Oakhill Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Ken Reynolds, Melvin Ellison, Marty Ellison, Jeff Warren, Travis Maxey, and Stacy Brown.

 

Mrs. Ellison will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive

Mrs. Dorothy Louise Tapp, age 87, of Trion, Georgia passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at a Rome Hospital.

Mrs. Tapp was born in Sweden Cove, Tennessee on January 23, 1928, daughter of the late Marlin Rector and Beulah Roberson Rector. She was a kind hearted person that loved to shop, go to Trade Day and Cook, but her greatest hobby was being a caregiver to her family, kids and grandchildren. Mrs. Tapp was a member of the Solid Rock Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Bryson Daniel “Dan” Tapp; a son , Danny Tapp, and a sister, Inez Burgess.

Mrs. Tapp is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Sammy and Judy Tapp, Lamar Tapp and Barry Tapp; special niece, Wanda Wright and her husband, Lee; a sister, Marie Harmon; three grandchildren, Danielle Tapp, Abby Tapp and Alex Tapp; one great grandchild, Brentlee Tapp; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Tapp will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. David Hayes and Rev. Jimmy Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

ANDREW MYERS WILLIAMS, JR., age 91, of Nixon Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015.  A native of Chattooga County, Georgia, He was born to the late Andrew Myers Williams, Sr. and Ruby Tutton Williams on March 230, 1924.  Mr. Williams was a member of First Presbyterian Church P.C.A; was a former grocery store owner/operator and was retired Supervisor for the Summerville Housing Authority
Surviving are daughter, Suzann W. Lanier & Sidney A. Lanier, Jr. of Summerville; sons, Gregory A. Williams & Marilyn D. Williams of Dublin, GA. And Andrew M. Williams, III & Sue M. Williams of Blairsville, GA.; grandchildren, Darin M. (Jenny) Williams, Kerry W. (Danny) Welch, Andrew M. (Laura) Williams, IV, Abigail W. Williams, Alexandra S. Lanier, Sidney A. Mr. Thomas Harold Gordon Obit (ER)

MR. THOMAS HAROLD GORDON, age 86, of Highway #27, Summerville, Georgia, Gore Community, passed away Friday morning at his residence following an illness. A native of Gore Community, He was born, to the late Homer C. and Mary Doster Gordon, on December 25, 1928. Mr. Gordon spent the greater part of his life in Gore, was a Veteran of Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from General Electric, Rome and was a member and Deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by a son, the late Bary Gordon on June 27, 2007 and brothers, the late George Ed Gordon, Don Gordon, and Sidney Gordon.

Surviving are His devoted wife, Frankie Dawson Gordon, daughter and spouse, Mary & Robert Taylor; sons and spouses, Gary & Tina Gordon and Mark & Connie Gordon; sister, Martha Sue Speer; seventeen Grandchildren, sixteen Great Grandchildren, three Great Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 30th, at 1:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Bryant, Rev. James Baird, and Rev. Mark Cosby officiating, interment in the family plot of Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
