Mr. Charles L. “Bo” Carroll, age 81, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Shepherd Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Carroll was born in Trion, Georgia on September 23, 1933, son of the late William Andrew Carroll and Georgia Madeline Barksdale Carroll. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in both, the United States Marine Corps and the United States Air Force, earning the National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Carroll was an Avid Atlanta Falcons Fan and a devoted Georgia Bulldogs Football Fan, but his favorite activity was spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Ruth Carroll, on June 21, 2013 and an infant brother, Ralph Lamar Carroll.
Mr. Carroll is survived by a son, Ronnie L. Carroll; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and J.R. Van Gurp; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronzie Lee Carroll, Sr. and his wife, Linda and Robert William Carroll and his wife Deborah; step-sister, Mary Vincent; four grandchildren, Crystle Gordon, Miranda Sumner, Jarret Van Gurp and A.J. Van Gurp; one great grandchild, Myles Gordon; and a number of special cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Carroll will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Oscar Stapp officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jarret Van Gurp, A.J. Van Gurp, J.R. Van Gurp, Robbie Carroll, Jamie Stanley, Lee McCormick and Ronzie Carroll, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff of Shepherd Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center and United Hospice.
Mr. Carroll will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.

Mrs. Bobbie Jean Nelson Barnes, age 74, of LaFayette passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred Nelson and her husband Arvil "Bud" Barnes.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by her daughter, Tina Barnes of LaFayette; sister Marzell Stewart and husband Billy of Summerville; brother, Sammy Nelson and wife Bonnie of Griffin, Georgia; grandchild, Whitnie Kimbrough and great-grandchildren, A.J. and Memphiss Keimbrough; grandchild Britton Lawson and wife Heaven and great-grandchild Cooper Lawson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 4 PM at Wallis Memorial Chapel of the Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home in LaFayette with Rev. Rickey Studdard officiating.
Pallbearers will be Donnie, Dennis, Chang and Nick Stewart, Joey McNair and Ryan Broome.
Interment will follow at LaFayette Memory Gardens.

MRS. EDITH M. McCOLLUM, age 86, of Trion, Georgia passed away Saturday evening at her residence. A native of Fayetteville, Tennessee, She was born to the late Tom and Zula Hall Morrow on February 16, 1929. Mrs. McCollum was a member of the Trion First Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Clifford “Tip” McCollum, June 25, 2014.
Surviving are daughter & companion, Ann McCollum and Terry Hawkins of Trion; son & daughter-in-law, John W. and June McCollum of Kensingston; grandchildren, Emily & Travis Poole and Laura & Steven Butler, great grandson, Noah Butler, special nephew, Greg Morrow

MRS. GLADYS N. CAMPBELL, age 92, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015, evening in a Rome hospital. Mrs. Campbell was a native of Clayton, Georgia, born to the late Christopher and Martha Garrett Marcus on August 10, 1922. She was a member of Berryton Baptist Church, a homemaker, and was preceded in death by her husbands, the late Woodrow Espy and Earl A. Campbell; She was preceded in death by daughters, the late Martha Park, Kathryn McArthur, Jeannie Griffin, Jeannie Griffin, 7 Sisters, and 2 Brothers.
Survivors include daughter, Sandra Gregg of Summerville; grandchildren, Phil (Christine) Luttrell, Kathy Hannal, Melissa (Brad) Johnson, Bryant (Jessica) Park, Josh Park, Clint Agnew; special nephew & Niece, Don & Jean Nichols; special family members, Charlotte & Dannie Moseley; 16 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews.

Mrs. Mary Walker Maxwell, age 74, of Summerville, GA, died Saturday, June 20, 2015, at her residence.
Mrs. Maxwell was born June 22, 1940, in Bonny Blue, VA, daughter of the late James Earl and Tansy Edwards Walker. She was a member of the Heritage Netherlands Reformed Church, and prior to her retirement, she was employed with Southern Airways. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Jerry" Maxwell; and her son, Michael "Sean" Maxwell.
Mrs. Maxwell is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alissa Maxwell Porter and Buddy Porter, Jr.; several nieces and nephews, great-nephews, and a great-niece.
Mrs. Maxwell will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 24, 2015.

Mr. R. C. "Roho" McCary, Sr., age 85, of Summerville, GA, died Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. McCary was born April 22, 1930, in Blanche, AL, son of the late Reuben Thomas and Laura Gamble McCary. He was a member of the Solid Rock Baptist Church, and prior to his retirement, was employed as a supervisor with the Millwright Local 1263. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War, and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 6688. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Montgomery McCary; brothers, Henry McCary, L.D. McCary, and Gene McCary.
Mr. McCary is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Clint McCary, Jeff and Michelle McCary, and Mike McCary; a daughter, Michelle McCary; step-daughter and her husband, Vickie Lynn and Donnie Frizzell; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Garrod, Iva McCary, Paula Williamson, Ann Fordham, Dot and Roy Roberson, and Lois Winters; a sister-in-law, Florence McCary; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. McCary will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 21, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hayes and Rev. Allen Young officiating. Interment will follow in the Summerville Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be J. J. McCary, Mitch Bemister, Matt Bemister, Matt Veitch, Steve McGill, and Joe Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Clinton Agnew, Buddy "Bug Man" Chisolm, Kenneth "O. B." Hunter, the members of the Millwright Local 1263, and members of the Solid Rock Baptist Church.
