Mrs. Flora Williams Howell, age 88, of Trion, GA passed away Friday, January 02, 2015 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Howell was born in Geraldine, Alabama on September 11, 1926, daughter of the late Elbert Estes and Eldora Addison Estes. She was a member of the Pennville First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 55 years, sang in the choir and was a G.A. and WMU director and teacher. Mrs. Howell was employed with the former Reigel Glove Mill, and retired from Best Manufacturing, where she was a member of the Best Silver Club. Following her retirement, she worked with The Pregnancy Resource Center. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her stepmother, Velma Estes; first husband, Eugene Williams, and her second husband, Dalton Howell.

Mrs. Howell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Deborah Williams of Summerville; daughter and son-in-law, Annette and James Mashburn of Crossville, AL; sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Jim Stricklin; sisters-in-law, Betty Duckett and Madge Smith; grandchildren, Amy and Jay White, Kelli Tibbett, Jamie Waldrip and Traci Mashburn; great grandchildren, Brooke and Marcus Tibbett, Beth Durham, Abby and Judson White, David and Katie Jenkins, Hailie and Taylor Morgan, and Jackson and Kennedi Waldrip; one great great granddaughter, Mackenzie Tibbett; Special Cousin, Helen Anthony of Trussville, AL; and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Howell will be held Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. George Palmer, Rev. Billy Dempsey and Bro. Johnny Wynn officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Stricklin, Vic Stricklin, Drew Stricklin, Evan Scott, Jay White, Judson White, Brock Rutledge and Josh Rutledge. Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of the Pennville First Baptist Church, Staff of the Pregnancy Resource Center, Ann Lanier, Vera Palmer, and Imogene Gilbert.

Mrs. Howell will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour. At other hours the family may be contacted at the residence of her son, Robert Williams, 290 Woodhaven Drive, Summerville.

Floral tributes will be accepted, however, those desiring may make memorial contribution to the Pregnancy Resource Center.

MRS. MARION N. SHIVER, age 90, of Summerville, Georgia passed

 away Tuesday, December 30, 2014, in the local nursing home.  

Born on October 1, 1924, in Calhoun, Georgia, a daughter of the 

late John Hobson and Sarah Etta Frady Nelson.  She was a member

 of Summerville First Baptist Church, a member of the Dorcus Sunday

 School Class, and a faithful member of the choir. Together with Her 

late husband, Otis Shiver, she was in retail sales.  Mrs. Shiver was 

also a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Aux.
 
Surviving are sons & daughter-in-law, Nelson Shiver and Farrell 

and Kay Willingham Shiver all of Woodstock; granddaughter, Sarah 

Bethany Shiver; brother & spouse-Charles and Helen Nelson of Varnell, GA.

; sisters-in-law, Edna Helton of Summerville and Linda & Alan Green of Lyerly;

 several Nieces and Nephews.
 

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 2nd, at 3:00 P.M. from the

Summerville First Baptist Church with Dr. Kenneth Summey, Dr. Paul Mason, 

and Dr. David Hunter officiating, interment in the Family plot of Summerville

 Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers-Michael Green, Marc Green, Cory Green, Adam

 Green, Ricky Wyatt, Stacey Wyatt, and Will Wyatt; Honorary Pallbearers-the 

Dorcua Sunday School Class of Summerville First Baptist Church and Administration

 and Staff of Oak View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  The Family will receive friends 

Thursday from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home; Mrs. Shiver will also be in state at the Church Friday, from 2 P.M. until the hour of service.

MR. HILLMAN HIX, age 96, of Trion, Georgia passed away Monday,

 December 29, 2014, in a Rome hospital.  He was born in Gore, 

Georgia on September 27, 1918, a son of the late Eugene and

 Ruby Phillips Hix. Mr. Hix was a Trion High School graduate, 

served in the U.S. Army during WW II from February, 1941

until October, 1945 in General Patton’s 2nd Armored 

Division; returning to Trion to work for Reigel Textile 

, later Mount Vernon Mills personnel office until retirement. 

 He was preceded in death by his wife the late Willie B.

 Parham Hix in 2006, sisters, the late Susie Gray, Nell Hendrix, 

Georgia Mae Walker, Ruby Lee Nix, and brothers, 

the late Freeman Hix and Jack Hix.
 
Surviving are Nieces and Nephews.
 
Funeral will be held Thursday, January 1st, at 2:00 P.M.

Mrs. Marion N. Shiver aged 90 of Summerville passed away Turesday December 30 in the local nursing home….She was born on October 1st, 1924 and was a member of the Summerville First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband the late Otis Shiver….Funeral arrangement are incomplete at this time but will be announced later by The Earle Rainwater Funeral Home….

 Mr. Jeffery Jerome Barbare, age 54, of LaFayette, GA, died Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Floyd Medical Center.

Mr. Barbare was born November 13, 1960, in Dalton, GA, son of the late Cleveland and Lena Mann Barbare.  He was a member of the Solid Rock Baptist Church and was employed with Bill’s Heating and Cooling.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Buck Barbare, Mike Barbare, and Freddie Barbare; and a sister, Joyce Ferguson.

Mr. Barbare is survived by his son, Preston Scott Barbare; brothers, Vernon Barbare and Harold Barbare; sisters, Sue Woodard and Bobby Thompson; grandchildren, Katie Johnson and Shane Buzan.

Funeral services for Mr. Barbare will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 30, 2014, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hayes officiating.  Interment will follow in the Ridgeway Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Richard Sims, Josh Hurley, Shannon Keen, Tim Winters, Lamar Mann, and James Hayes.

Mr. Barbare will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Tuesday.

Mr. Kenneth Douglas Treadaway, age 63, of Summerville, GA, died Saturday, December 27, 2014, at the Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Treadaway was born March 28, 1951, in Trion, GA, son of the late Rexford and Annie Mae Acrey Treadaway.  He was a truck driver and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam.

Mr. Treadaway is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Seaborn and Kym Treadaway; a sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Matt Angus; several nieces and nephews; Brandon and Melody Galloway, Mollie and Jeremy Mathis, Katelyn Treadaway, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Treadaway will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 30, 2014, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Johnson officiating.  Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Floyd, Buford Lee Fox, and the Staff and Residents of the Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Treadaway will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Tuesday.
