Mr. Robert Lynch Park Obit (M)

Mr. Robert Lynch Park, age 65, of Subligna, GA, died Friday, December 26, 2014, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Park was born April 12, 1949, in Honolulu, HI, son of the late Bryant Lawson and Helen Faustine Park.  He was formerly employed with Syntec Industries, was a member of the Subligna Baptist Church, and a Gideon.  He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the First Calvary Division in Vietnam.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Shane Robert Park, and his brother, Bryant Lawson Park, Jr.

Mr. Park is survived by his wife, June Pope Park of Subligna, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Julia Park of Subligna, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Shannon and John Coonley of Acworth, GA, Carrie and Nick Griffin of Rome, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Yandell and Brenda Park of Subligna, GA; grandchildren, Trinity and Owin Park of Subligna, GA, Peyton and Kennedy Falk, Dylan and Jackson Coonley of Acworth, GA, Carter and Kali Griffin of Rome, GA; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Park will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 29, 2014, from the Subligna Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Bishop and Mr. Reggie Temples officiating.  Private interment will follow in the Subligna Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Mark Buffington, Mike Buffington, Kenny Jennings, Doug Kimbell, Bryant Park, III, Dale Scoggins, Mike Scoggins, and Leroy Sweatman.

Mr. Park will be in state at the Subligna Baptist Church and the family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Monday.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in Mr. Park’s name to the Subligna Baptist Church Building Fund, or to the Heart House at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, GA.

Mrs. Rebecca Elaine Goble Obit (C)

Mrs. Elaine Crowe Goble, age 64, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Goble was born in Trion, Georgia on June 8, 1950, daughter of the late James B. Crowe and Marie Parris Crowe. She was a member of the Horizon Baptist Fellowship and prior to retirement was employed as a teacher at Coosa School and most recently the Pennville School and Summerville Middle School.

Mrs. Goble is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. “Trey” and Jennifer Goble; daughter, Rachel E. Goble; sister, Brenda A. Dove; grandchildren, Andrew Torimoto, James Goble, Reese Torimoto and Ella Torimoto; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Goble will be held Monday, December 29, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Green Hill Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

Mrs. Goble will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 until 7 P.M.

Mrs. Juanita Hicks Tate Obit (C)

Mrs. Juanita Hicks Tate, age 89 of Lafayette, Georgia, formerly of Trion, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Cozy Manor Assisted Living Center.

Mrs. Tate was born in LaGrange, Georgia on January 22, 1925, daughter of the late Walter L. Hicks and Beulah Wilson Hicks. She was a member of the Trion United Methodist Church since she was six years old, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Lafayette Band Boosters. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Tate and her husband, Bill Tate, owned and operated the Tate Furniture Company. Following her retirement, she was a volunteer at the Redmond Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Tate was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Tate, Sr., a son, William P. “Buster” Tate, Jr., a brother, Jessie Hicks, a sister, Gladys Smith, and a great-granddaughter, Alexandria N. Mousseau.

Mrs. Tate is survived by her daughters, Patricia Faulkner of Trion and Phyllis Maddox of Lafayette; grandchildren, LaWayne and Jennifer Bowling, Sandra and Stewart Bailey, Andrea Maddox, Allison and Austin Pugmire, William O. Tate, Amy and Russell TateLorri Anna Tate -Hulsey and Jeremy Hulsey; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Tate will be held Friday, December 26, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Art Graves officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Charles Edward (Eddie) Galloway Obit (M)

Mr. Charles Edward Galloway, age 73, of Lyerly, GA died Sunday, December
21, 2014 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
 
Mr. Galloway was born October 10, 1941, the son of the late Joe Willis and
Verna Virginia Shankles Galloway.  He was a carpenter.  Other than his parents,
he was preceded in death by a son, Kenny Galloway; and a brother, Jerry Wayne
Galloway.
 
Mr. Galloway is survived by his wife, Leslie Hunt Galloway; children, Randy Galloway
and Rodney Galloway; brothers and sister-in-law, Roger Galloway, Danny and Audrey Galloway; sisters and brothers-in-law, Katherine and James McCarty, Barbara Gill, Beverly and Charles Green, and Sandra Timmons; and 1 Grandchild.
 
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 27, 2014
at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Izell officiating.  Burial
will follow in West Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Bob McCarty, Michael

Mrs. Athel Mae Agan Obit (M)

 Mrs. Athel Mae Agan, age 74, of Summerville, GA, passed away Friday December 19, 2014, in Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Agan was born May 2, 1940, in Trion, GA, the daughter of the late William and Eva Mae Teems Walker.  She was co-owner and operator of the Agan Printing Company,   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Erin Prince.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin Agan, son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Kelly Agan, daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Chuck Sizemore, April Reed, Connie and Bryan Hawkins, sister, Glenda Turner, 9 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday December 23, 2014 from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steven Payne officiating. Interment will follow in the Weiss Lake Memorial Gardens.  Active pallbearers will be Hayden Sizemore, Chad Hawkins, Bryan Hawkins, Billy Agan, Gene Agan, Larry Blackwell, Chuck Sizemore, Donnie Agan, and David Agan.

Mr. J.R. Pope Complete Obit (C)

Mr. J. R. Pope, age 79 of Trion, GA passed away December 17, 2014 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.  Mr. Pope was born August 6, 1935 in Hamilton, AL.  He was president of Textile Mechanical Service  until his retirement 12 years ago.  Mr. Pope was Christian and Baptist by faith, having attended several churches recently.

Mr. Pope was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Christol Pope; parents, William Thomas and Mary Delphia Howell Pope; sisters, Autie V. Martin, Lois Sanderson, Ellia Mae Staples, and Buina Howell; and brothers, Otis, Dell, Eldon, Floyd, and Lee Pope.

Mr. Pope is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Preston Cash.  Mrs. Polly Gilbreath was his companion, travel mate, and very special friend. Also surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Burrell Henderson; a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. 

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 3:00 p.m.  from the Petitt Chapel of Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Norton and Rev. Waydell Howell officiating.  Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery.

Visitation for Mr. J. R. Pope will be Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Coffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Mrs. Mary Lou Wilkerson, age 100, of Summerville, GA, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014, at the Golden Living Center.

Mrs. Wilkerson was born January 14, 1914, in Jacksonville, AL, daughter of the late Henry and Ida Mae Sheffield Bramlett.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Highland Avenue Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Larry Wilkerson and Billy Joe Wilkerson; and her daughter, Sue McGaskey.

Mrs. Wilkerson is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Wilkerson of Summerville, GA, Bobby Wilkerson of California, Jerry and Jo Wilkerson of Winfield, AL, Mark Wilkerson of California, David and Edna Wilkerson of Lyerly, GA, and Dale Wilkerson of Nashville, TN; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wilkerson will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 19, 2014, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Greene and Rev. James Lackey officiating.  Interment will follow in the Edgemont Cemetery in Anniston, AL.  Pallbearers will be sons and Tyrone and Tim Young.

Mr. Joel Stephen “Steve” Hegwood Obit (M)

Mr. Joel Stephen “Steve” Hegwood, age 75, of Menlo, GA died Monday, December 15, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Hegwood was born July 14, 1939 in LaFayette, GA, the son of the late William Forrest Hegwood and Addie Lou Williams Hegwood.  Mr. Hegwood was owner and operator of Hegwood Used Cars, and a truck driver.  He was a member and deacon of Menlo First Baptist Church. He was a member of Alpine Masonic Lodge #211. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Bill McGill; brother, Ross Hegwood; and a nephew, Barry Hegwood.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Crain Hegwood; daughters, Carol E. “Beth” Hegwood Shaw and Shelly Ann Hegwood Ramsey and Jim Ramsey; brothers, Danny Hegwood, Tim Hegwood, and Mark Hegwood; grandchildren, Michael Heath Barnett, Sally Reed Kerce and Christopher Kerce, Cathryn Alivia Shaw; and 3 Great-grandchildren.

 Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p. m. Sunday, December 21, 2014 from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Roach and Rev. Billy Dempsey officiating.  Masonic rites will also be performed by Alpine Lodge #211.  Honorary pallbearers will be D C Schrader, Joe Reed, Terry Day, Billy Joe Dooley, Wayne Pritchett, all members of the Alpine Lodge #211 and all other Masonic Brothers.

Mrs. Rosa Elaine Pitts, age 67, of Summerville, GA passed away Sunday,
December 14, 2014 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
 
Mrs. Pitts was born September 21, 1947 in Marietta, GA, the daughter of the late
John Lane Bentley and Lillie Mae Puckett.  She was a homemaker.  Other
than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Smith; and a sister,
Bonnie Lou Bentley.
 
Mrs. Pitts is survived by her husband, Marvin Lanier Pitts; daughters, Tammy
Pitts and Keysa Mandy Bice; sister, Melissa Puckett; brothers, Johnny Bentley
and Samuel Puckett; grandchildren, Destenee Wooten, Kobi Farmer, Chloe Bice,
Croissa Bice, and Garrett Bice.
 
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p. m. on Tuesday, December
16, 2014 at Mason Funeral Home.

Mrs. Margaret Ann Barbare, age 70, of Lafayette, GA, passed away Saturday December 13, 2014, in Hutcheson Medical Center.

Mrs. Barbare was born May 21, 1944, in Summerville, GA, the daughter of the late John D. and Margie Ree Spears Reynolds.  She was a home maker, member of the Berryton Church of God, and preceded in death by her husband, Fred Barbare, and a son, Kim Barbare.

Survivors include her children, Shane Barbare, Patricia & Jody  Gilreath, speical niece  and husband, Sheila and Wade Young, brother, Doug Reynolds, sisters, Darlene Bramlette, Mildred Lewis, grandchildren, Breanna Gilreath, C.J. Barbare, Stephen Barbare, Alex Barbare.
