Mrs. Barbara Faye Knowles Obit (M)

Mrs. Barbara Faye Knowles, age 77, of Summerville, GA, died Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at the Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Knowles was born May 17, 1937, in LaFayette, GA, daughter of the late Homer Lee Floyd and Mattie May Cantrell Maxie.  Prior to her retirement, she worked in the nursing field, and was also a homemaker.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Knowles was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Cooper; a sister, Martha Smith; and a brother, Jerry Branch.

Mrs. Knowles is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Tammy Cooper; grandchildren, Zac Cooper and Andrew Cooper; great-grandchildren, Kailyn Cooper and William Cooper; and companion, Walter Jones.

Funeral services for Mrs. Knowles will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, November 29, 2014, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Min. Bill Cantrell officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Josh Cutshall, Michael Henderson, Ron Tucker, Keith Cantrell, Zac Cooper, and Andrew Cooper.

Mrs. Knowles will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Saturday.

Mrs. Mary Ruth Lowery Obit (C)

Mrs. Mary Ruth Lowery of Simmons Street, Trion, GA, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Oak View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Lowery was born in Trion, Georgia on July 15, 1930, daughter of the late Watson Hall Clements and Menta Duncan Clements. She was a member of the Pennville Church of Christ and was a homemaker. Mrs. Lowrey was preceded in death by her husband, Hancel Lowery; daughter, Debbie Elaine Reynolds; and sisters, Hilda McWhorter and Mildred Hardy.

Mrs. Lowery is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Danny Strickland; son-in-law, Bud Reynolds; Grandchildren, Fayla and Barry Vaughn and Tia and Joe Gable; great grandchildren, Taylen Vaughn, Averie Gable and Madison Gable; special caregivers, Erica Lambert and Nicole Hunt; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside and Interment Services for Mrs. Lowery will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. in the Green Hills Memory Gardens with Minister Robbie Eversole officiating.

The will be no formal visitation and those desiring to attend the graveside services should meet at the Green Hills Memory Gardens by 2:45 P.M. Wednesday.

Mrs. Joleame Raye Tanner McCutchins Obit (C)

Mrs. Joleane Raye Tanner McCutchins, age 35 of Trion, GA passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. McCutchins was born in Abilene, Texas on November 14, 1979, daughter of Janet Elaine McCluggage Tanner and the late Donald Ray “Duck” Tanner. She was a member of the Pennville Christian Missionary Alliance Church and was employed with the Roper Corporation. Mrs. McCutchins was active in Melanoma Awareness and with Summit Quest, working relentlessly to bring awareness and comfort to those whose life had been impacted by Melanoma. In addition to her father, Mrs. McCutchins was preceded in death by dear friends, Dee Janette “Nano” Cardin, Kristy Huff and Cindy Harris.

Mrs. McCutchins is survived by her husband, Garland McCutchins; daughters, Jazmin Alexis Gray and Shelby Jade McCutchins; step daughters, Tia Davis and Sharrie Danielle Daniels; mother, Janet Tanner; sister and brother-in-law, Deneale Rae and James Elrod; special friends Marie Watson and Tonja Bishop.

Memorial Services for Mrs. McCutchins will be held Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Pennville Christian Missionary Alliance Church with Pastor Carlos Martines officiating. Following the service, there

Mrs. Peggy Styles Morehead of 139 Melrose Lane, Summerville passed away Sunday November 23rd in Redmond Regional Medical Center, after a Lengthly illness….  She was born on April 7th, 1933 in Farner Tennessee, the daughter of the late Robert and Mamie Styles… Other than her parents she was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey David Morehead, 2 sisters, Jewell King Hardeman and Mildred Pettett, 2 brothers Robert Styles and Clarence Styles…She is survived by her husband of 59 years, O.G. Morehead of Summerville, 2 daughters Melanie Eubanks and Larry, Rosemary Rush and Bobby, both of Summerville….4 sisters Reginal Noble of Columbia S.C. Betty Ferrell of Ashevill N,C. , Marlyn Meredith of Summerville and Annette Woodard of Trion, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and number of neices and nephews also survive…She was a graduate of Vanderbilt University Peabody College in Nashville….She received  a masters degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and additional graduate studies at the University of Arizona, Tucson . AZ….

She began her teaching career at Trion High School in 1954 and for thirty years was employed by the Chattooga County School System, teaching elementary, Middle and high school, retiring as Chattooga County School psychologist…

For several years she organized and directed the Chattooga County Follies in Support ot the Chattooga High School Band…During the years that the follies were presented , over thirty thousand dollars was raised from the event to support the band….

Mrs. Morehead was a charter member of the Horizon Baptist Church and was the church pianist for 18 years

Mrs. Donna Marie Brown, age 63, of LaFayette, GA, died Monday, November 24, 2014, at her residence.
 
Mrs. Brown was born July 17, 1951, in LaFayette, GA, daughter of the late Harold “Buster” and Jean Aters Day.  She was a homemaker and had previously attended the Ridgeway Baptist Church.
 
Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, Leonard “Marty” Brown; sons and daughters-in-law, Justin Roy and Lacey Brown, Garrett Lamar and Amanda Brown; a sister, Pamela Lynn Day; grandchildren, Austin Mitchell, Brett Brown, Casey Brown, Cayley Blalock, Dawson Brown, and Anna Grace Brown.
 
Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be held at 11:00 A.M. Mrs. Dorothy Louise Moore Obit (C)

Mrs. Dorothy Louise Moore, age 89 of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Moore was born in LaFayette, Georgia on July 7 , 1925, daughter of the late Emmett Eugene Day and Nora Tinney Day. She was a member of the Pennville Christian Missionary Alliance Church, and prior to retirement, was employed in the meat department of the Piggly Wiggly. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard Adams and eight brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband, Billy Moore; son and daughter-in-law, Lamar and Anita Adams of Canton; brothers, Lawrence Day of Baton Rouge, LA and Ronald Day of Hiram, GA; 2 grandchildren, Wesley Adams and Gina Marcy; 5 great grandchildren, Wade Marcy, Reed Marcy, Chandler Adams, Emmaline Adams and Landon Adams; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Moore will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Carlos Martines and Rev. Waydell Howell officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Jeanette J. Noles, age 80, of Summerville, GA, died Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
 
Mrs. Noles was born December 22, 1933, in Centre, AL, daughter of the late
J. W. and Naldred Mobbs McGee.  She was of the Holiness Faith, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Best Manufacturing.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Lee Noles, Sr.; a sister, Ruth McGee; step-sons, Lloyd Noles, Billy Noles, Archie Noles, Jr., and Dean Noles; and a grandson, Quincey Arp.
 
Mrs. Noles is survived by her sons, Bobby Arp and Larry Arp; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Johnny Gorham; step-daughter, Mary Dendy; brother, Billy Stephens; sisters, Lola Mae Amos and Judy McGee; a grandchild, Dewayne Hogue; great-grandchildren, Corbin Hogue, Matthew Hogue, and Brianna Hogue.
 
Funeral services for Mrs. Noles will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 25, 2014, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mrs. Mildred Odessie Crabtree, age 77, of Summerville, GA, passed away Sunday morning at her home.
 
Mrs. Crabtree was born November 9, 1937, in Summerville, GA, the daughter of the late James and Respie Garmany Timmons.  She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church, was a homemaker, and was preceded in death by brothers, Melvin Timmons, Millard Timmons, and Edward Timmons.
 
Survivors include her husband, Bud Crabtree, sons, Tex Riley Tapp, James William Tapp, brother, Bernard Timmons, sisters, Delvie Reed and Dollie Lively.
 
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 26, 2014, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Lackey, Rev. Jack Gillespie and Rev. Jerry Wilkerson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Oakhill Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Arlie Timmons, Sherman Cooper, Tommy Cooper, Griffin Timmons, Clayton Cooper, and Alton Shaw.

MRS. ELIZABETH EVERGREEN KENNETT, age 79, of McGinnis Circle, Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014, in a Rome hospital. Born in Fort Payne, Alabama on April 4, 1935, She was a daughter of the late Milford and Maggie Eller Butler, and was a member of the Harrell Street Church of God. She was preceded in death by first husband the late Raymond Kennett, and four brothers-Archie Butler, Earnest Butler, Lester Butler, and Jonathan Butler, also grandsons, Waymond Kennett and Durando Kennett died earlier.

Surviving are husband-Billy Ray Hayes; daughters-Patricia Ann Redwine of Rocky Face and Judy Roberts of Summerville; sons-Raymond Ellis Kennett, Jr. of Summerville and Paul Ivan of Trion; sister-Truevillor Butler of Summerville; brothers-M.H. Butler, Robert Butler, and Howard Butler all of LaFayette, Albert Butler of Dalton, Delon Butler of Cedartown, and Joe Butler of Centre, Al.; twelve Grandchildren, ten Great Grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Michael Redwine and Freddie Bell officiating, interment in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Mrs. Mary Ruth Smith Johnston, age 95, of Summerville, GA went to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Oakview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
 
Mrs. Johnston was born September 6, 1919, in Center Post, GA, the daughter
of the late George W. Millican and Lillie Mae Kinsey Millican.  She had worked
at the Summerville Cotton Mill.  Other than her parents, Mrs. Johnston was
preceded in death b y her first husband, Buford H. Smith; her second husband,
Odell Johnston; sons, Joe E. Smith and Martin C. Smith; daughter, Glenda Faye Buffington; brother, Arthur Guylie Millican; sisters, Mattie Lou Allmond, Minnie Lee Bain, and Edna Pauline Strickland.
 
Mrs. Johnston is survived by her children, Herman Wayne Smith, Lula Mae Payne, Radonna Gale Green, Barbara Dianne Blackwell, and Cynthia Hope Cotton; 32 Grandchildren; 76 Great Grandchildren; 34 Great Great Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p. m. Friday, November 21, 2014 at MasonFuneral Home with Rev. Mike Odom and Rev. Wayne Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Grandsons.

receive friends from 1:30 until the service hour on Friday.  At other hours the
