Mrs. Rose Weems Chevremont, 84 formerly of Summerville passed away on Thursday in the Chatsworth Health Care Center….born in Summerville on November 1st , 1929 to the late Paul Bryant Weems and the late Maude O'Donnell Weems, She was an educator ….she was preceded in death by her husband Guillermo Chevermont and her Children Juan Antonio Chevremont, Cecilia Chevremont and Paulette Chevremont……..She is survived by her daughter Rosita McCamy, Granddaughter Jessica Rich and her husband Sammy Rich of Rome, great grandson Aiden Rich and Noel Rich of Rome, Grandson Patrick McCamy and his wife Jady McCamy of Chatsworth, great grand children Riley McCamy and Sarabeth McCamy of Chatsworth…She also acted as surrogate mother to Lester Miranda of Atlanta…..

Funeral services will be in the chapel of the Peeples Funeral Home in Chatsworth on Sunday October 19th at 6PM, The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4 to 6PM….Mrs. Cheveromont will be cremated and a private inurnment will follow later in the Summerville Cemetary…the family request no flowers…..Peeples Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Rose Weems Chevremont……

Mrs. Pauline Estelle Caroll Rampley Obit (C)

Mrs. Pauline Estelle Carroll Rampley, age 96, of Trion, Georgia, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Oxford, Alabama following an extended illness.

Mrs. Rampley was born in Geraldine, Alabama on February 7, 1918. She was a member of the Trion First Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Best Manufacturing. Mrs. Rampley was preceded in death by her husband, Lumas E. “Bud” Rampley, and a daughter, Regina Carol Rampley Gober, and seven brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Rampley is survived by her son-in-law, William Don Gober of Oxford, Alabama; grandson, Nathan Eugene Gober of Oxford, AL; granddaughter, Melissa Carol Gober of Auburn, AL; and nephew, John “Binky” Dawson. 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Rampley will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Dr. Floyd Roebuck officiating. Private Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Rampley will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.

Mr. Arthur “Andrew” Watkins Obit (M)

 Mr. Arthur “Andrew” Watkins, age 59, of Summerville, GA, died Saturday, October 11, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Watkins was born April 9, 1955, in Menlo, GA, son of the late Betty Miller and Arthur Watkins. He previously worked at Best Manufacturing and Century Glove.

Mr. Watkins is survived by his wife, Barbara Thomas Watkins; a sister, Carolyn Ruth Autry; brothers, Ronnie Watkins and Billy Ray Watkins; and a special nephew, Doyle Thomas and several other nieces and nephews  also survive Mr. Arthur “Andrew” Watkins.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday October 17,  2014  in Macedonia Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Rutledge officiating.  Active pallbearers will be Bryant Tidmore, Jeff Hill, Andy Tidmore, Doyle Thomas, Scott Mitchell, and David Pendergraft.

Mr. Watkins will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Mr. Adrian H. Powell Obit (Perry)

Mr. Adrian H. “Bud” Powell age 90 of Gaylesville passed away Wednesday October 8th at Cherokee Health & Rehab.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday October 12th at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Kellett officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3P.M. at the church.

Pallbearers include Lewis Leath, Lyn Fitzpatrick, Larry Hurley, Billy Kellett, Stanley Koonce and Junior Hughes.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cherokee County Health and Rehab Station 5 staff members.

Survivors include sons, D.L. (Pam) Powell of Broomtown and Douglas (Effie) Powell of Vicenza, Italy: daughter, Sherry (Stacey) Koonce of Summerville, GA. , 3 grandchildren, Lindsey and Josh Koonce and Rosemary Powell.

Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his brother Harrison Powell and sister Julene Powell Chapman.

Mr. Powell was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late Arthur H. and Gertrude Smith Powell and was a member of the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. He retired from Georgia Glove Mill in Lyerly Georgia in 1987.

The family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Mt. Bethel Cemetery Fund.

Mr. Keef was born July 30, 1955, in Lafayette, GA, the son of the late Jesse and Nancy Lorene Green Keef.  He was retired from Vines Construction Company.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by grandparents, Harvey and Dovie Green.
 
Survivors include his wife, Stella Craig Keef, children, Belinda and Jeremy Garrett, Kristy Keef Erwin, Nickola Laney, step-sons and wives, Fred and Cindy Hogue, Anthony and Niki Hogue, Lee and Patricia Laney, brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Joan Keef, grandchildren, Lee and Isabella Armstrong, Addie and Asher Garrett, 8 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren

Mr. James Henry Burse Obit (M)

Mr. James Henry Burse, age 57, of Summerville, GA died Wednesday, October 8,
2014 at his residence.
 
Mr. Burse was born January 19, 1957 in Summerville, GA, the son of Joe Henry and Emma Thompson Burse. James graduated from school in Summerville in 1975, being named the State of Georgia Football Player of the year.  Going on to attend Tennessee Tech in Cooksville, TN, on a football scholarship.  He excelled in all sports but had a passion for football.
Survivors include his daughter, Constance “Tobi” Daniel and husband Maurice, two grandchildren, Myles and Neriah, parents, Joe Henry and Emma Burse;  sisters and brother-in-law, Gloria and George Brooks, and Rebecca Burse, two nieces Greonna and Gratia Brooks, a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
 
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Mason
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Copeland and other Ministers officiating.  Burial will follow in Summerville Cemetery.

Mrs. Virginia Faye McCutchion Obit (Wright Memorial )

Virginia Faye McCutchion, age 68 transitioned from this life on  Thursday, October 2, 2014. Ms. McCutchion was born December 13, 1955, in Corpus Christi, Texas, daughter of the late Eugene McCutchion and the late Mable Lampkins McCutchion. She was the fifth child of six children.
 
She leaves behind her siblings; Franklin Faye McCutchion, Mary King, Larryetta McCraw and Tracy McCutchion; nieces and nephews; Kimberly McClutchion, Ronald King, Christopher  King, Melissa King, Jason McCraw, Jared McCraw; several dear great nieces and nephews; friends (who were family to her) particular; Gray, Fred Sawyers and Gillian; her Orkins/Rollins family, especially; Shelby Beal, Cheryl Freeman and Angela Jenkins; along with a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Faye was a special person to all and will be greatly missed!
 
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Wright Memorial Mortuary with Bro. Larry Ware Officiating. Wright Memorial Mortuary, Inc. Rome, GA has charge of the Memorial Service.

MRS. VERA H. WILLIAMS, age 89, of Nixon Street, Summerville, 
Georgia passed away Tuesday afternoon.  A native of Chattooga 
County, Georgia, She was born to the late Emmett Jackson and 
Blanche Irene Chandler Hemphill on December 19, 1924.  Mrs. 
Williams was a member of First Presbyterian Church P.C.A.; 
known as “Miss Vera”, She was retired Educator from the 
Chattooga County School system.

Surviving are husband, Andrew M. Williams, Jr.; daughter,
Suzann W. Lanier & Sidney A. Lanier, Jr. of Summerville; sons,
 Gregory A. Williams & Marilyn D. Williams of Dublin, GA. And
 Andrew M. Williams, III & Sue M. Williams of Blairsville, GA.; 
grandchildren, Darin M. (Ginny) Williams, Kerry W. (Danny) 
Welch, Andrew M. (Laura) Williams, IV, Abigail W. Williams,
 Aleiandra S. Lanier, Sidney A. Lanier, III; great grandchildren,
 Britton S. Williams, Blake T. Williams, Brileigh C. Welch, Everly B. Welch; 
one Nephew; special friends/caregivers, Sandra Durham, Bertha Harkins,

A Celebration of Life, service will be held Thursday, October 9th,

King and Rev. Donald Treick officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.
