She was the beloved daughter of Clyde Bartlett of Menlo, GA, and Flora Allen of Dalton, GA, both of whom preceded her in death. Evelyn carried their values of strength, kindness, and perseverance throughout her life.

Evelyn dedicated over 30 years of service to Shaw Industries, where she was admired for her unwavering commitment, strong work ethic, and the warmth she extended to everyone around her.

She was married to Raymond Delay for nearly 20 years, a bond just five months shy of that milestone. Their relationship was one of deep companionship, laughter, and mutual respect—a partnership that brought joy and strength to both their lives.

Evelyn was the proud mother of Tina Carroll Thompson (spouse Bobby Thompson) of Cedartown, GA; Dwight L. Carroll III (spouse Jenny) of Lafayette, GA; Joseph Delay (spouse Laura) of Trion, GA; and Raymond Delay Jr. of Dalton, GA. She was lovingly known by many names—Maw, Momma, Granny, and Mimi—each a reflection of the special place she held in the hearts of her nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She is also remembered as a cherished sister. Evelyn was preceded in death by her sisters Linda Adolphson and Joyce Ellison, and is survived by her sister Sandy Corbin of Menlo, GA, who continues to carry forward the bond they shared.
