Rev. Charles Joel Jennings Obit (M)

 

Rev. Charles Joel Jennings, Jr., age 83, of Cedar Bluff, AL, died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at his residence.

Rev. Jennings was born July 15, 1929 in Porterville, AL, son of the late Charles Joel, Sr. and Maggie Emma White Jennings.  He was a farmer and a member of the Farrill Baptist Church.  Rev. Jennings was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Faye Morris Jennings; a son, Charles Joel Jennings III; grandsons, Stephen Andrew Walker and Joshua Daniel Morgan; and a great-grandchild, Nicholas Litchfield.

Rev. Jennings is survived by his sons & daughters-in-law, John Harold & Patty Jennings, Randy Gene & Jan Jennings; daughters and sons-n-law, Brenda Faye  & Rickey Morgan, Rose Marie & Bevin Walker, Mary Jacqueline Stegall, and Martha Jeanne Gardner; a sister, Evelyne Bishop; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. E.S.T. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from the Mill Creek Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Sumner officiating.  Burial will follow in the family lot of Mill Creek Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Clayton Madisen, Michael Jennings, Bud Wooten, Terry Chestnut, Anthony Bishop, and Jason Bishop.

Rev. Jennings will be in state at the residence 2485 County Rd. 92, Cedar Bluff, AL after 4:00 P.M. EST on Monday.

Mrs. Betty Meers Kelley, age 82 of Cedar Bluff passed away Tuesday May 21st at Riverview Medical Center. Graveside services will be 11:AM Friday at Mill Creek Cemetery, with Mark Cosby officiating. Mrs. Doris Elaine Shelton Revised Obit EP

   Mrs. Doris Elaine Shelton, age 57 of Mountain View Road,

Trion, GA passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Floyd Medical

Center.  Mrs. Shelton was born March 2, 1956 in Summerville,

GA.  Mrs. Shelton attended Corner Church and was retired from

the Weaving Department of Mount Vernon Mills.

   Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Lee

Tapp; brother, Eddie Ray Tapp; grandparents, John and Ida Tapp

and Earnest and Margie Timmons; and several aunts and uncles.

   Mrs. Shelton is survived by her husband of 38 years,

John Charles “J.C.” Shelton; daughter, Keri Lynn Alley

of Summerville, GA; son, Sjohn Lee Shelton of Summerville, GA;

and daughter, Keisha Dianne Shelton of Trion, GA; 

9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; mother,

Nina Mae Tapp; five sisters, Myra, Rita, Ruth, Tammy,

and Cindy; 3 brothers, Roger, Troy, and Larry;  special

friends, Jill Porter, Gail Carmon, Diane Konkel, Sarah Daniles,

Mrs. Mary J. Blackmon Obit., (ER)

Mrs. Mary J. Blackmon, age 69, of Penn Street-Trion, Georgia passed

away Friday, May 17, 2013 at her residence. Born in Chattooga County,

Georgia on January 21, 1944, She was a daughter of the late James

Randolph and Mozelle Love Moon. Mrs. Blackmon was a member of 

Living Waters Ministries and was retired from the preparation department

of Mount Vernon Mills.

Surviving are her husband, James H. Blackmon, Jr.; daughter, Tina Rana

Loggins of Trion; three sons, James H. Blackmon III and Kenny Ray

Blackmon, both of Trion and Marty Lamar  Blackmon of Summerville,

Chelsea Community; four sisters, Margaret Timms of Fl., Paulette Hayes

of N.C., Charlotte Ann Taylor of Summerville, and Brenda Lewis of

Cartersville; eleven Grandchildren, thirteen Great Grandchildren, several

Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 21st, at 2:00 p.m. from the J.D.

Mrs. Sheila Gail Hensley Rape Obit (M)

Mrs. Sheila Gail Hensley Rape, age 50, of Cloudland, GA, died Saturday, May 18, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Mrs. Rape was born June 10, 1962 in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late Samuel and Frances Giddy Hensley. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Rape is survived by her husband, John Paul Rape; a son, Jonathan Hensley; daughters, Melissa Hensley, Tonya Tibbs; a brother, Doug Hensley; sisters, Sherril Timmons, Dorothy Brewster, and Imogene Tibbs; and a grandson, Samuel Regan.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 from the Mount Olive Cemetery at Cloudland. Burial will follow in the family lot of Mount Olive Cemetery.

Mrs. Kimberly “Gussy” Dawson Obit (EP)

Mrs. Kimberly “Gussy” Dawson, age 46 of Ramey Road, Trion, GA passed away Thursday, May 15, 2013 at Hutcheson Medical Center following a long illness.   She was born in LaFayette, GA on March 8, 1967.   Mrs. Dawson was a former paramedic with Chattooga County EMS.  She loved her job and won EMT of the year out of 16 counties.  She was a member of the Waterville Baptist Church. 

Mrs. Dawson was preceded in death by her sister, Agnes Louise Wingfield, Beatrice Lynn Brown, Bonnie Hartline Jones, and father, Hannis Kirby, Sr. Mrs. Dawson is survived by her husband, Michael Dawson; son, Justin White; daughter, Taylor Dawson Sprayberry; granddaughter, McKinnley Helton and grandson, Isaiah Sprayberry; mother, Arrie Mae Black; and brothers, Johnny Kirby and Hannis Kirby, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Waterville Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Barrett and Rev. Bill Abercrombie officiating.  Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Jamie Lynn DeLee Obit (M)

Mrs. Jamie Lynn DeLee, age 31, of Conyers, GA died May 14, 2013 at UAB in

Birmingham, AL.

 

Mrs. DeLee was born April 6, 1982 in Fort Sill, OK, the daughter of David Keen,

JR and Julie Hughes Keen.  She was a homemaker, wife, and mother.

 

Survivors include her husband, Lonnie DeLee; children, Coal Hennon, Bradley

DeLee, Brian DeLee, Brandon DeLee, Payton Hennon, Destiny Sholton, and

Deviny Sholton; parents, David Keen, JR and Julie Keen; brother, Drake Keen;

sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Jackie Burrage; grandparents, Larry

and Judy Allmon; great grandmother, Harriet Carroll; aunt & uncle, Steve and

Becky Osby; several Cousins; nieces, Kayleigh and Cassie Burrage.

 

Graveside and interment services will be held at 4:30 p. m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Summerville Cemetery with Rev. Waydell Howell and Rev. Barry Brown officiating.

Mrs. Mary Ann Tudor Obit (M)

Mrs. Mary Ann Tudor, age 75, of Rome, GA (formerly of Summerville, GA) died Monday, May 13, 2013 at Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Tudor was born July 21, 1937 in Rome, GA, the daughter of the late Clarence Eugene Pierce and Robbie Mae Carney Pierce. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Tudor was a member of Fishers Chapel Methodist Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband to whom she was married in 1960 until his death in 2007, George Ed Tudor; and a son, Michael Tudor.

Survivors include sons, Greg Andrews, and Roland “Lynn” Tudor; sister, Wylene Gillespie; brothers, Ernie and wife, Glenda Pierce, Harold and wife, Betty Pierce; grandchildern, Kim Holmes, and husband, Will Holmes,Edward Tudor: great grandchildren, Matthew Shephard, Allison Holmes, and Andrew Holmes.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Fisher’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Frank Bramlett and Rev. Ray Teems will officiate.

Mrs. Barbara Cox Obit (M)

Mrs. Barbara Ann Cox, age 68, of Summerville, GA died Monday, May 13, 2013 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Cox was born January 31, 1945 in Manns Choice, PA, the daughter of the late James D. Weneck and Anna Lois Tidey Weneck. She was a member of Berryton Church of God. Mrs. Cox was former president of the Ladies Ministries of Harvest Church of God from 1999 until 2006. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Weneck.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. William Cox; daughter, Schaunelle D. Pagan and husband, Danie H. Pagan; brothers, James D. Weneck, JR and Dennis Weneck; grandchildren, Caleb Pagan and Madisyn Pagan.

Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p. m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rich Bowen and Rev. Jason Lee officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Cleveland, TN. Pallbearers will be Daniel Pagan, Scott Pugh, Alfred Printup, Kelly Pugh, Ayana Graham, and Samantha Printup.
