Mrs. Sandra Ellen Edwards Fuller Obit (M)

Mrs. Sandra Ellen Edwards Fuller, age 65, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at her residence.

Mrs. Fuller was born in Summerville, Georgia on November 23, 1947, daughter of the late John Carlton Edwards and Mozelle Norton Edwards. She was employed as an accountant with Rome Printing Company and was a member of the Duos and Solos Square Dance Club in Ft. Payne. Mrs. Fuller enjoyed spending time with her family, loved to garden especially flowers and was an avid square dancing enthusiast.

Mrs. Fuller is survived by her husband, Darwyn Fuller; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Dusty Edwards; step-sons, Brad (Kim) Fuller and Marcus Fuller; brother, Johnny Edwards; sisters, Wanda Groover, Sheila Flood; grandchildren, Sydnie Edwards and McKinley Fuller; Uncle, A.L. Norton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 5 until 7 P.M. at the Mason Funeral Home. At other hours, the family may be contacted at their respective residences.

Private Memorial Services will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013.

The family respectfully asks that no flowers be sent, however, those desiring may make memorial contributions by Volunteering and Donating to the American Cancer Society a www.cancer.org.

Mrs. Veda Nell Simmons Obit., (M)

Mrs. Veda Nell Simmons, age 68 of Summerville, GA died Sunday, April 21,

2013 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

 

Mrs. Simmons was born September 23, 1944, the daughter of the late Calvin

Warren Boyles and Audrey Lorene Pace Boyd.  She was a homemaker.  Other

than her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin Lee Broyles.

 

Survivors include her husband, Carlton Simmons; sons, James Warren Simmons

and Jerrel Wayne Simmons; step-mother, Opal Broyles; sisters, Brenda Faye

Lands, Wileen Bryant, and Diane Pace; grandchildren, Jamie Simmons,

Marissa Simmons and Calvin Simmons.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. EST Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at

Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Morrison officiating.  Graveside

services will be held at 3:00 p.m. EST at Union Grove Cemetery.  Pallbearers

will be Donnie Treadaway, Richard Barnett, Dennis Lands, Jeremy Lands,

Daniel Wooten, and Daryl Ward.

 

Mrs. Simmons will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will

receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Monday, April 22, 2013.

MR. DAVID WILSON HALL, III, age 38, of Cloudland, Georgia passed 
away Friday, April 19, 2013.  Born in Scottsdale, Arizona on October 17,
1974, He was preceded in death by mother-the late Alice Peterson Hall. 	
Surviving is His father-David W. Hall, II of Satellite Beach, FL.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 27th, at 12 noon from the
Cloudland Presbyterian Cemetery, with Rev. Dan Steere officiating.

Mrs. Sybil F. Cleveland Obit (M)

 

Mrs. Sybil F. Cleveland, age 89, of Trion, GA, passed away Saturday April 20, 2013 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Cleveland was born August 13, 1923, in Chattooga County GA, the daughter of the late Marshal and Kate Cox Freeman. She was retired having worked for Fred & Ross Thomas Realty and Broome & Son Ice Company & Gyro Car Wash. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Jack Cleveland, and a daughter, Gail Beck Wilbanks.

Survivors include her Grandsons, Jason Beck, Adam Beck, Son-in-law, Sherman Wilbanks.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday April 24, 2013 from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Wilborn officiating with interment in the Greenhills Memory Garden. Active pallbearers, B.J. Gamble, Seth Turner, Clint Dillard, Jim Wisherd, Eddie Massey, Clay Sizemore. Honorary pallbearers, the Staff and Employee’s of The Suites at OakView.

Mr. Isaiah Morgan age 63, of Lylery, GA, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Erlanger Medical Center following a sudden illness. Mr. Morgan was born in Floyd County, Georgia on May 27, 1949, son of the late Harvey Morgan and the late Cora Chambers Morgan. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 1:00 PM at St. Peter’s Baptist Church, Morten Bend Community, with Rev. Thomas Rooks and other ministers officiating.  The body will lie in state at the church from 12 noon until the service time. Interment will follow in GA National Cemetery, Canton, GA, on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 12:30 PM with Military Rites held at the gravesite. The family will receive friends at the residence, 414 Wiggins Rd., Lylery, GA.

Mr. Carl D. Sanford Obit (ER)

MR. CARL D. SANFORD, age 71, of Holland-Chattoogaville Road, Lyerly, Georgia passed away Friday (October 5, 2012). A native of Round Mountain, Alabama, He was born to the late Cicero and Rena Ward Sanford on December 17, 1940. Mr. Sanford graduated Mississippi State University on a football scholarship and began a forty year manufacturing Executive career in Summerville, Georgia with Georgia Rug Mill, later Bigelow-Sanford Rug Mill; then to Canada, then with BASF/Honeywell in Dalton. Afterward retiring to the 750 acre Family farm on Holland-Chattoogaville Road.

Surviving are His wife-Tippy Sanford; sons-Colter Sanford of Chattoogaville and Tyler of Summerville; grandchildren-Carlie Sanford, Colton Sanford, Ayla Sanford, and Cason Sanford; sister-Dixie Messer of Cedar Bluff, AL; brothers-Sam Sanford of Cedar Bluff, AL and D.C. Sanford of Jamestown, Al; several Nieces and Nephews.

Entombment service will be held Sunday, April 21st, at 2:30 P.M. on the Family Farm in Holland Community.

Ms. Jean Kay Obit.,(ER)

MS. JEAN KAY, age 73, of Cherry Street-Trion, Georgia, passed away 
Thursday, April 18, 2013, morning in a Rome hospital.  A native 
Chattooga Countian, She was born to the late Albert and Everene 
Henderson Croy on February 28, 1940.  Ms. Kay was Baptist by Faith, 
retired from Mohawk Industries, and was preceded in death by a sister 
and brother.

Surviving are daughter-Kim Kay Palmour of Summerville; sons-James
Bradley Kay of Trion and Kenneth Lee Kay of Ringgold; grandchildren-Keith 
Morison, Preston Morrison, Jeremy Guinn, Cameron Kay, Darian Kay, Donavan 
Kay, Amanda Kay, Carmen Palmour, Alexandra Palmour, and Marianna Palmour; 
great grandchildren-Stella Morrison, Ashby Morrison, Jared Guinn, Jordon Guinn, 
and Danielle Guinn; several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins also survive.

Graveside, Family Only, service will be held Saturday, April 20th, in Union Hill
Cemetery.

Mrs. Evalene Trammell, age 52, of Lyerly, GA died Saturday, April 13, 2013

at her residence.

 

Mrs. Trammell was born March 27, 1961, the daughter of the late

Willie and Ailene Trammell.  She was a homemaker.

 

Mrs. Trammell is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan

and Charlee Howell; brothers, Joe Trammell, Ernest Trammell, and Ray

Trammell; 3 Grandchildren; and 2 Step-Grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 at

Mason Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Christopher Knowles, Timothy Knowles, Shane

McGuire, Sammy Trammell, Jamie Howell, and Lee.  Honorary pallbearers

Marguerite Partain Strickland Morgan, age 91, of Rome passed away Monday April 15, 2013 in a Rome Health Care Facility.

Mrs. Morgan was born January 21, 1922, in Walker County a daughter of the late George Partain and Allie Bryant Partain. She was a member of Shorter Avenue Baptist Church, and a retired LPN working at Floyd Medical Center and Tri County Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Strickland, brothers, Ivan  Partain, Emory Partain, Dennis Partain, and sisters, Vinnie Wilson, Glenna Wilson, and Ruth Duncan.

Survivors include  daughter, Diane Cash, and her husband, Fruithurst, Al; son, Danny Strickland, and his wife, Linda, Trion; grandchildren, Mike Clem, Tonya McBrayer, Terri Lumpkin, great grandchildren, Ashlee Atkins, Madison Jennings, Allee McBrayer, Addison Lumpkin.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday April 17, 2013 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Minister Robby Eversole, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday at Summerville City Cemetery, in Summerville. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday.
