Ms. Kathryn Ramey, age 80, of Summerville, GA, passed away Saturday November 24, 2012, in Cozy Manor Nursing Care. Ms. Ramey Was born Feb. 27, 1932, in Walker County Georgia, the daughter of the late Paul and Daisy Durham Ramey. She was a member of the South Commerce Church of Christ, and retired from Mt. Vernon Mills. Survivors include her sisters, Frances Patterson and Yvonne Sawyer, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service was held 11:00 a.m. Sunday November 25, 2012 from the West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Robert Patterson officiating with burial in West Hill Cemetery.
John Robert Kendrick, age 82 of Highway 100 Summerville, GA passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Kendrick was born September 24, 1930 in Summerville, GA. He was retired from McWhorter Farms. Mr. Kendrick was a member of the Summerville First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was a member of the Baraca Sunday School Class.
Mr. Kendrick was preceded in death by his father and mother, Allmon Kendrick and Minerva Tudor Kendrick; and brothers, James Kendrick, Allmon (Red) Kendrick, and Billy Kendrick.
Mr. Kendrick is survived by his wife, Edna Earl Parker Kendrick of Summerville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and Dave Nicholes of Suffolk, Virginia, Bonnie and Randy Steward of LaFayette, GA, and Amy Kendrick of Summerville, GA; sister, Nona Kendrick of Huntsville, AL; sister-in-law, Polly Kendrick of Rome, GA; 5 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Summerville First Baptist Church with Dr. Kenneth Summey and Dr. Paul Mason officiating. Visitation will be Thurday, November 29, 2012 at the Summerville First Baptist Church where the family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Max Dorman Galloway, age 77, of Mentone, Alabama, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Galloway was born in Gallant, Alabama on April 30, 1935, son of the late Lonnie Erwin Galloway and Lena Deering Galloway. He was a member of the Menlo First Baptist Church, the Valley Head Masonic Lodge and the Baptist Men’s Club. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Galloway was employed as a Construction Superintendent with Sullivan, Long and Haggerty. In addition to his parents, Mr. Galloway was preceded in death by two sons, Garry Galloway and Johnny Johnson; and a grandson, Nicholas Austin and a brother, Jerry Galloway.Mr. Galloway is survived by his wife, Annette Cabe Galloway; sons and daughter-in-law, Tony and Kenna Galloway and Mark Galloway; daughters and sons-in-law, Juanita Galloway and John McDonough, Regina and Charles Martin, Belinda and Marvin Bitner, Jamie and Eric Jackson, and Melissa Johnson; sisters and brother-in-law, Roberta and Max Cash, Marceline Chumley and Janice Galloway; sister-in-law, Burma Galloway; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; special nephew, Doug Combs and a number of additional nieces and nephews.Funeral Services for Mr. Galloway will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. On November 21, 2012 God took Mrs. Myrtice Elaine Hendrix Jackson, age 64, of Summerville, GA home to be with him.
Mrs. Jackson was born July 13, 1948 in Trion, GA, the daughter of the late Joseph Terry Greene and Annie Gwin Crider Greene. She was a member of Trion Heights Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Lloyd Greene, Leonard Greene, Scott Lee Greene, Russell Fay Greene, Wayne Greene, and Donnie Greene; and 2 sisters, Marie Thomas and Barbara Harris.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, LeBron and Marsha Hendrix, Dalton, GA; a daughter, Renee Brown, LaFayette, GA; a sister, Eula Story; 4 Grandchildren, Christopher, Adam, Devon, and Logan; and special friends, Nellie Wilbanks, Martha Oliver, Rhonda Levine, and Pam Powell.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be all members of the Ladies Sunday School Class of Trion Heights Baptist Church.

Mrs. Joyce Lavella Arden, age 85 of Sunrise Circle, Trion, GA passed away Monday, November 19, 2012 in Oakview Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Arden was born March 27, 1927 in Chattanooga, TN. She was retired from Best Manufacturing and was Baptist by faith.
Mrs. Arden was preceded in death by husband, Clyde Arden; father and mother, Clarence W. and Hazel Eller Suits; and brother, Franklin D. Suits.
Mrs. Arden is survived by brothers, William J. Suits of Palm Coast, FL and James D. Suits of Homestead, FL; nephews, Phil Bacon of Chattanooga, TN and Ken Arden; 3 brothers and 1 sister also survives.
Graveside and Interment services will be Friday, November 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Ken Johnson officiating. Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Ray Allen Millican, age 80, of Summerville, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the Floyd Medical Center.
Mr. Millican was born in Cedar Bluff, Alabama on December 14, 1931, son of the late Charlie Duke Millican and Allie Ann Robinson Millican. He was retired from Glove Mill. In addition to his parents, Mr. Millican was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Millican and sister, Helen Kilgo.
Mr. Millican is survived by his sister, Vivian Millican, brother, Charles Millican.
Graveside and interment services for Mr. Millican will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Tom Russell and Rev. Talmadge Barnes officiating.

Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Hamby Thomas, age 85, of Summerville, GA, Passed away Saturday November 17, 2012, from injuries received in an automobile accident. Mrs. Thomas was born August 28, 1927, in Summerville, GA, the daughter of Hugh and Margaret Wofford Hamby. She was retired from Best Mfg, a member of the Trion United Methodist Church, the Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women, the Triple LLL Club, and preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Levi Thomas, sisters, Peg Tate Hogg, and Nelle Adamson.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Doug Wilson, grandchildren, Liz and Stefan Hoglund, Darren Mitchell, Joan and Michael Graham, Amber Browning, Douglas Wilson, great-grandchildren, Claire Lindsey, Murphy Browning, Sydnie Hoglund, Wil and Tristan Graham, Addison Wilson, sisters, Hugh Belle Tucker, Joyce Hogg, Jane Stokes, brothers, Edwin Hamby, Jerry Hamby, and several nieces and nephews.

Durward Leon Petitt age 85, of Mahan Road, Summerville, GA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 16, 2012. Mr. Petitt was born January 3, 1927 in Whitfield County, GA. He was a Veteran of the United State Army having served in WW II.
Mr. Petitt was a graduate of the Gupton-Jones Mortuary College and was the President of Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home having acquired the funeral home in 1969. He was in the Funeral Service for 66 years. Mr. Petitt was a member of New Antioch Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon for 51 years, a member of Chattooga Lodge, Yaarab Shrine & Chattooga Shrine, and American Legion Post # 129.
Mr. Petitt was preceded in death by daughters, Rhonda Wells and Sandra Petitt; father and mother, Troy Leon Petitt and Gaudie Mae Petitt; sister, Vera Thompson; and brother, Bob Petitt.
Survivors are wife of 65 years, Ruby Petitt; son, Dana Petitt;, daughter, Renia Miller; and son-in-law, Larry Wells; grandchildren, Jeff Richardson, Anthony Richardson, Julie Becker, Travis Petitt, Yvette Hauck, Daera Wells, Natashia Dover, and Chad Miller; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Martha Higgins and Charlotte Dooley; and brothers, Harmon Petitt and Billy Petitt.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 19, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Helton, Rev. Waydell Howell, and Rev. Ken Johnson officiating.
