Mr. William Lenzton “Tank” Ludy, JR, age 64, of Summerville, GA died Sunday,November 13, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Ludy was born March 8, 1947 in Summerville, GA, the son of the late William Lenzton Ludy, SR and Mable Ophelia Harris Ludy. He was formerly employed as a machinist with Lester Industries. He loved cooking, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Ludy was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in Vietnam. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Pamela Ludy; and a brother, Ray Claude Ludy.

Mr. Ludy left behind his wife, Helen Wiggins Ludy; daughters, Terra C. Ludy, Charlene, and husband, Ralph Draper, Paula Wiggins, and Ayeisha Stewart; sons, Reginald, and wife, Darlene Ludy, and William Lenzton Ludy, III; sister, Linda, and husband, Timothy Finley; brothers, Rev. Gregory, and wife, Otha Ludy, and Morris Ludy; 12 Grandchildren; and 1 Great Grandchild; and several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Friday, November 18, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Anita Clouds officiating, with a song and scripture by Rev. Jennifer Mann. Burial will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be James Miller, Nathan Adams, Jackie Hoskins, Cedric Price, Tyman Jett, and Larry Anthony. Honorary pallbearers will be Nephews. Flower bearers will be Doris Shephard, Helen Stamper, Irene Parker, and Cassandra Wiggins. Honorary flower bearers will be Nieces.

Mr. Ludy will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p. m. on Friday.

Mr. Donald Lee “Donnie” Fletcher obit(M)

Mr. Donald Lee “Donnie” Fletcher died Monday, November 14, 2011 at Floyd Medical Center.

Mr. Fletcher was born November 26, 1959, in Summerville, GA, the son of the late Tom and Joann Hardy Fletcher. He was a life long resident of the Teloga Community. Mr. Fletcher was formerly employed with HCI.

Survivors include a brother, Eugene Fletcher, Denver, CO; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret Ann and Joe Myers, Columbus, GA; special nephews, Wes Thompson, Ben Thompson, and Luke Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Ken Bruce officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tim Thompson, Larry Cook, Brian Hardeman, Kelly Young, John Stubbs, and Sammy Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be Wes Thompson, Ben Thompson, and Luke Thompson.

Mr. Fletcher will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:30 p. m. until the service hour on Wednesday.

Ms. Linda Haygood Obit (ER)

MISS LINDA HAYGOOD, age 68, of Pine Street-Trion, Georgia passed away Friday, November 11 2011, in a Rome hospital. A native of Trion, Georgia She was born to the late Walter C. and Margaret Saylors Haygood on September 8, 1943. She was a member of Trion United Methodist Church and a retired nurse. Surviving are an Uncle-Luther Heaton of Minot, S.D.; Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 16th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Pierce officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday from 12:30 P.M. until the funeral hour. Mr. Daniel Reynolds Complete Obit(M)

Mr. Daniel Tyler Reynolds, age 17, of Summerville, GA passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 from injuries sustained while participating in a Motocross Event.

Daniel was born December 5, 1993 in Rome, GA, son of Zeta Ingle and Kenneth Reynolds. He was a Senior at Chattooga High School (Class of 2012) and was employed with Southern Engineering and Surveying. Daniel was also an active member of Four Mile Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, camp, and spend time outdoors. Daniel participated in both Motocross and Arenacross Dirt Bike Racing. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William “Bill” Ingle, and an aunt, Janet Petitt.

Daniel is survived by his parents, Zeta and Kenneth Reynolds; grandparents, Lena Ingle, Cecil and June Reynolds; aunts and uncles, Joyce and Jeff Warren, Karen and David Tallent; and cousins, Courtney Tallent, Chris Tallent, and Leanna Warren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Reynolds will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doyle Kelley and Rev. Joel Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Lyerly Cemetery.

Mr. Robert Earl Watkins, age 58, of Summerville, GA passed away Saturday,
November 12, 2011 at his residence.
Mr. Watkins was born August 22, 1953 in Menlo, GA, son of the late Betty
Miller and Arthur Watkins. He was employed as a Security Officer.
Mr. Watkins is survived by his sons, Eric Watkins, Kurtis Chadwick
Watkins; a daughter, Hillary Watkins Ledbetter; brothers, Ronnie Watkins,
Billy Ray Watkins, and Andrew Watkins; a sister, Carolyn Autry; and seven
grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mr. Watkins will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November
15, 2011 from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Rutledge

Mr. Larry Eugene Caldwell obit (M)

 

Mr. Larry Eugene “Luther” Caldwell, age 59, of Summerville, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011 at The Specialty Hospital in Rome, GA.
Mr. Caldwell was born in LaFayette, Georgia on June 8, 1952, son of Clarice Bennett Caldwell and the late Harvey Caldwell. He was a member of the Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church, was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army and was employed with Georgia Power. In addition to his father, Mr. Caldwell was preceded in death by a son, Joe Clark.
Mr. Caldwell is survived by his wife, Karen Dillard Caldwell; sons, Kenny King, Timmy Caldwell, and Joseph Caldwell; daughters, Amanda Coley, Amy Caldwell, and Carrie Payton; brothers, Billy Caldwell and Jimmy Caldwell; sisters, Lynn Cagle and Annette Nicholson; 22 Grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Military Graveside Rites for Mr. Caldwell will be held Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Summerville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Alex Brown, Bobby Brown, Stanley Grey, Tommy Dillard, John Bell, Casey Robinson, and Charles Lynn Cagle.

Mrs. Mary Sue Snyder obit (M)

Mrs. Mary Sue Snyder, age 78, of Summerville, GA died Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Snyder was born November 29, 1932 in Trion, GA, the daughter of the late Rufus and Ida Stowe Grimes. Mrs. Snyder was a member of Pennville First Baptist Church. She was a retired dental hygienist, having worked for Dr. Davidson, Dr’s Christenberry & Cromartie, Dr. Mason, and Dr. Ware over a period of 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Snyder; and a special brother, Morris “Bud” Grimes, and 14 other brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a son, David Snyder, Trion, GA; daughters and husbands, Beverly & David Talley, Calhoun, GA and Wendy and Chris Proctor, Rome, GA; sister, Frances Clementine Hayes; grandchildren, Kirsty Talley, Marci and husband, Bryan Banks, Brett and wife, Brianne White, Jennifer and husband, Chris Davenport, and Alyson Proctor; great grandchildren, Bryson Talley, McKenzie Talley, Eli White, Ansley Davenport, Logan Davenport, and Kaden Banks; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Aileen Adams Mosley Obit (W)

Mrs. Aileen Adams Mosley 73 of Summerville passed away Tuesday at Floyd Medical Center.

She is the widow of the late Mr. Benjamin Jefferson Davis Mosley and a member of  the A.M.F. Quintet.

She was preceded in death by two sisters; Mrs. Lena Mosley and Mrs. Katie Jackson and was retired from Bigelow Carpet Mill.  She is survived by two devoted sons and daughter in laws; Briton and Colette Mosley and Bradford and DeShana Mosley of Rome.; two granddaughters; Camden and Brayundra Mosley, grandson Adam Fredric, one sister  Mrs. Louise Favors of Summerville, sister in law; Mrs. Vernell Shropshire, a brother in law, Mr. A.L. Mosley;  special cousins; Oscar and Mattie Farmer, nieces , nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2PM at Oak Hill Baptist Church Gore Community Summerville, with Pastor George Beavers officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from noon until the funeral hour.  Internent Oak Hill Cemetery.   Arrangements are by Willis Funeral Home of Dalton.

Mr. John Donovits, JR, age 79, of Summerville, GA died November 8, 2011
at his residence.
Mr. Donovits was born February 8, 1932 in Summerville, GA, the son of the
late John Donovits, SR and Anne Johnson Donovits. He was retired from
Inland Rome. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Mr. Donovits is survived by his wife, Vaudean Parker Donovits; sons and
daughter-in-law, Jim Donovits, Summerville, GA and David and Michelle
Donovits, Anniston, AL; brother, William Franz “Bill” Donovits, Summerville,
GA; grandchildren, Presley Donovits, Parker Donovits, and Patton Donovits.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Thursday, November 10, 2011
with Min. Berlin Murphy officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p. m. until the service hour on Thursday.
