Mrs. Mary Agnes Coley 94 passed away Thursday September 4th in Oakview Nursing & Rehab Center…She was born January 20th, 1914 in Tallapoosa, Ga. and was retired from Riegel Textile Corporation where she worked in the packing Dept., and was a member of the East Trion Church of God…Mrs. Coley ws preceded in death by her husband T.J. Coley, father, Elijah Kilgore and mother, Alice Kilgore Whitehead, sisters Etta Stiles, Ola bowling, Myra Dyer, and Ida Bowling.. Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Leon and Sue Coley of Summerville Sister, Doris Dyer of Augusta, Grandsons and wife Jeff and Gina Coley, of Summerville, and scott Coley of summerville, 3 great grandchildren, Rachel coley, Rebecca Coley, and Kadie Coley, several nieces and nephews also survived….Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 6th at 2PM from the East Trion Church of God with REv. Charles Izell and Rev. Jim Chasteen officiating with Interment to follow in West Hill Cemetary….Mrs. Coley will lie in state Saturday September 6th at the East Trion Church of God where thw family will receive friends from 12 to 2pm….

Mr. William Terrell “Bud” Holbrook, age 73, 0f Cloudland, GA died Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Holbrook was born July 23, 1935 in Chattooga County, GA, the son of the late William Era and Mary Jane Hope Holbrook. Mr. Holbrook was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Rose Holbrook; son, Curtis Lee Holbrook, Cloudland, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia Rebecca & Dudley Easler, Mentone, AL, Melisa Ann and Clinton Carroll, Rainsville, AL, Phyllis Denise and Robert Johnson, Cloudland, GA; sister, Martha Sue Smith, Cloudland, GA; 8 Grandchildren; and 7 Great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Friday, September 5, 2008 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marlin Starnes officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eddie Ballinger, Johnny Smith, Charles Ballinger, Charlie Huskey, Andy Huskey, and William Hegwood.

Mr. John Howard Parsons, age 82, of Summerville, GA died Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Shepherd Hills Nursing Home.

Mr. Parsons was born November 9, 1925 in Chattooga County, GA, the son of the late Robert Lee and Earlie S. Morris Parsons. Mr. Parsons was a member of Fisher’s Chapel Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II. He was preceded in death by sons-in-law, Billy Dearing, Ronald Rogers, and Richard Cook.

Survivors include his wife, Violet R. Parsons; sons & daughters-in-law, Lee and Elaine Parsons, John & Shirley Parsons, Dalton, GA, Michael Parsons, Summerville, GA, Anthony Parsons, Cohutta, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda & Charles Harris, Millie Dearing, LaFayette, GA, Janie & Spencer Harp, Tunnel Hill, GA, Martha & Dale Chastain, Silver Hill, GA, Patsy Willingham, Cohutta, GA, Wanda Rogers, Rocky Face, GA, Mary Hendley & Ed Holland, Chatsworth, GA; 20 Grandchildren; 21 Great Grandchildren; & 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Several Step-Grandchildren also survive Mr. Parson.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p. m. Monday, September 1, 2008 at Fisher’s Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Skip Mitchell & Rev. Ray Teems officiating. Burial will follow in the Fisher’s Chapel Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Earl Kinsey, Billy Smith, Billy Hughes, Andy Hughes, Max Joyner, Brad Ward, DeWayne Ward, & Christopher Alkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Grandsons and Darrin Smith and Reford Atkins.

Mr. Parsons will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Sunday, August 31, 2008. He will also lie in state at the church on Monday from 2:00 until 3:00 p. m.

Mrs. Lorene Parker 80 of Summerville passed away Thursday in a Rome hospital… A native of Trion she was born to the late Milas and Alma blackmon Hawkins on July 9th, 1928.  She was retired from the Spinning Department of Mt. Dr. Alan Johnson age 60 a prominent dentist of Stallion Drive Summerville, passed away Monday afternoon in a Rome hospital, A native of Knoxville TN. he was born on September 5th, 1947 to the late Ray Allen Johnson, and Margaret Mae White Johnson who Survives. Dr. Johnson was a member ot Summerville United Methodist Church and was a Veteran of the US Navy serving during Viet nam.. Surviving are his wife Lynn Johnson, Mother Margaret Johnson of Greenville, TN. Daughter Mallorie Johnson of Summerville , Son Ben Johnson of Boone NC.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1pm from the Summerville First Baptist Church with DR. Jack Colwell, Rev. Mr.Harvey Gene Mitchell at 57 of Railroad St. Summerville , Pennville Community passed away Saturday evening at his residence following an extended illness.  He was born in Trion, on January 12th , 1951 to the late Harve Mitchell, Sr. and Maggie Smith Mitchell who survives.  He was retired from the maintenance Management in food service.  Mr. Mitchell wa preceded in death by a sister the late Barbara Baldwin and brothers, Harve Mitchell, Jr. , J.W.
