Xaviar Tre’Von Gray, Obit (M)

On October 30, 2022, the Heavens opened up and received an angel. Xaviar Tre’Von Gray has completed his assignment, a job well done.

Xaviar, affectionately known as “Zay,” infected everyone he came in contact with with his contagious smile. This well-mannered young man, at the age of 15 years old, set out to accomplish and excel in academics and sports, whether it was on the football field or the basketball court. Zay’s athletic abilities were something special; something that would allow him to be a shining star in the community and on every basketball and football team that he was on.

Zay’s presence will be missed by his parents, Le’Tysha (Jody) Flowers; his dad, Darius Williams; his grandparents, Tiffany Hicks, Felicia Williams, Willie (Michelle) Gray, Donald (Monica) Lloyd, and Earnest Flowers, Sr.; great-grandmothers, Maggie (Willie) Smith, Levern Coleman, Dorothy Cooper; a host of aunts and uncles, specifically Le’Shai Hicks, Trina Pierre, Bettina Redeemar and Michelle (Walter) Finney, John Robinson D’Artagnan Williams, Clifford (Esha) Flowers, and Eric King, Jr.; his siblings, Darius D’Aruius, Destiny, Jasmin, Angel, Deshauna, Jodi, Nene, Alicia, and Tre; a special big brother, Tray Ransome; nieces and nephews, Vay, Mir, Aiden, Arthur, Isaiah, Ari, and Mila; a host of cousins including his favorites, Terrence, Karion, Sakari, Wynter, Brielle, Lay Lay, and Kyuna.

Xaviar was preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Poince Hicks, Margaret (Arthur) Hayes; great-grandparents, Clinter Cooper and Willie Gray, Frank and Brenda “Joyce” Heart.

The same community that has supported Zay since he started playing ball; the same community that has watched him get bigger and better, came out in multitudes to support Zay. Chattooga, y’all rock, and we thank you!
Xaviar’s respectful demeanor was a blessing to all that he came in contact with, and although we feel that 15 years wasn’t long enough, we know that God makes no mistakes and that Zay fulfilled exactly what he was called to do. Zay was called to remind us how short life can be.

He loved all of his teammates and coaches as well!
