Mrs. Sandra Diane Murphy Bentley, age 67, of Gaylesville,  AL, the Jamestown Community, passed away Saturday Morning June 17, 2017, at her residence.

Mrs. Bentley was born October 24, 1949, in Gadsden, AL, the daughter of Roy Murphy, SR, and Fannie Mae Higgins Murphy.  She retired from Best Gloves, and loved to read and sew.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis (Buttercup) Bentley, son & daughter-in-law, Brent Matthew & Jacqueline Ann Bentley, daughter & son-in-law, Sonja Dennise & Sam Hall,  granddaughter, Harley Breanna Bentley, sisters-in-law, Barbara Lee Murphy, Geneva Williams.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday June 18, 2017,   from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Keith and Minister Berlin Murphy officiating with interment in the Moseley Cemetery.  Active pallbearers, Roger Tucker, Jimmy Tucker, James Bentley, Jamey Tucker, Jesse Tucker and Steve Tucker..

Mrs. Bentley will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Sunday June 18, 2017 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour.

MRS. VERA MAE BICE, age 89, of Hinton Street, Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, June 16, 2017, morning in the local nursing home.   She was born in Chattooga County on June 20, 1927 to the late Jim and Dolery Prince Bundrum.  Mrs. Bice was Church of God by Faith, a Homemaker, and was preceded in death by her husband, the late Frank Bice.

Survivors include daughter, Cindy Reece; sons, Danny Bice, Roland Bice, Richard Bice, Terry Bice, and Billy Bice; Nineteen Grandchildren, several Great Grand Childred and Great Great Grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 19th, at 1:30 P.M. from the J. D., Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Rutledge and Pastor Larry Reynolds officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Johnny Reece, Jason Reece, Justin Reece, Jason Bice, Paul Bice, and Stevie Bice.  The Family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

MS. MONA LISA McCUTCHINS – Age 60, of Summerville, Georgia passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Mrs. Eula Mae London McCutchins and Mr. George McCutchins, brother, Al Ray McCutchins, sister, Anita McCutchins, and two nephews, Isaiah McCutchins and Trevor Montgomery.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Mike McGee; daughter, LaPorsche McCutchins (Marketia McMichael); very special grandson, DeKerious McCutchins; three sisters, Ann (Ronald) Montgomery, Vivian (Marcus) Wells, and Anna McCutchins, of Summerville, Georgia; two brothers, Juan (Jennifer) London and Tracy (Sandy) McCutchins of Atlanta, Georgia; one aunt, Ailene McCutchins; one uncle, Robert Leggins of Toledo, Ohio; very special friends, Shelia Stewart, Sarah Ruth Thompson, Elaine Hudgins, and Dot McDaniel; dear cousins, Frank McCutchins, Jr., Mark and Annette Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Homegoing Service will be Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 1:00 P. M. at New Bethel Baptist Church, 281 Georgia Avenue, Summerville, Georgia,  with Apostle Jennifer London, Pastor Kevin Roach, and other ministers officiating.  Her remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday after 11:00 A.M. and at the church one hour before the service.  Interment, Allgood Cemetery in Trion, Georgia.

Mr. Aubrey Eugene “Gene” Albertson, age 79, of Summerville, GA, died Thursday, June 8, 2017, at the Oakview Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Albertson was born June 26, 1937, in Monticello, KY, son of the late Roy Albertson and Ora Lewis Albertson Windle.  He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and prior to his retirement, was self-employed in the construction industry.  Mr. Albertson was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Korea.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Clint Albertson; and a sister, Dorothy Thompson.

Mr. Albertson is survived by his wife, Judie Albertson; children, Lonnie (Jullie) Albertson, Evan (Tammy) Albertson, Darrin (Terri) Albertson, Pam Sanders, Guy (Marcey) Albertson, Amy Albertson, Wendy (Andy) Howell, Douglas Albertson; brothers, Jack Albertson, Roy Albertson, and Randy Windle; sisters, Nancy Williams, and Judy Brown; grandchildren, Shelby Howell, Sophia Strickland, Kyle Albertson, Natasha Albertson, Junior Sanders, Summer Sanders, Curtis Brown, J. P. Brown, Kristin Albertson, Tiffany Bland, Taylor Singletary, Brian Pope, Misty Newsome, Morgan and Cierra Albertson; and several great-grandchildren.

Memorial services for Mr. Albertson will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, June 17, 2017, from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Bro. Leon Tucker officiating.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Saturday.

Mr. James Lee McGuire, age 68, of Trion, GA, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017, at the Oakview Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. McGuire was born August 31, 1948, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Ralph and Essie McGuire.  He enjoyed woodworking and watching Shepherd’s Chapel.  Prior to his retirement, he was employed in the textile industry.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte McGuire; and a sister, Shirley McGuire.

Mr. McGuire is survived by his wife, Linda McGuire; son and daughter-in-law, Merle and Mary McGuire; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Henry Millsap, Donna and Kim McGuire, Wanda and Michael Wright; 9 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. McGuire will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 14, 2017, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. McGuire will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Wednesday.
