Mr. Eresel Flemming Obit

Mr. Ersel "Jack" Fleming, JR, age 57, of Gaylesville, AL died Tuesday, February 2, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Fleming was born June 5, 1953 in Montgomery, WV, the son of Jo Ann Craigo Morgan and the late Ersel Fleming, SR. He enjoyed woodworking, making fishing lures, and gardening. Mr. Fleming is a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include his daughter, Jackie Enterline; mother and step-father, Jo Ann and Richard Morgan, SR; step-sister, Melissa Bouldin; step-brothers, Richie Morgan and Phillip Morgan; grandchildren, Autumn Enterline and Megan Enterline; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p. m. Friday, February 4, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Martin officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Morgan, Richie Morgan, Robert Drake, Rickey Edwards, and James Trotter.

Mr. Fleming will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 2:00 p. m. until the service hour on Friday.

 

Mrs. Mollie Dover Obit

MRS. MOLLIE DOVER, age 70, of Saddle Club Road-Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday at her residence. A native of Russell County, Virginia She was born to the late Vernia and Gertha Mae Osborn Mullins on April 6, 1940. Mrs. Dover was retired from Shaw Industries and was preceded in death by her husband, the late David Dover; a daughter the late Diana Lynn Harris; sisters Jane Whitley and Juanita Patrick; brother, Gilmer Mullins.

Surviving are son & daughter-in-law-Chris and Christy Harris of Summerville; grandsons-Collin and Connor Harris; sisters: Virgie Williams of Florida, Nancy Hardy of Roanoke, VA, Flossie Kennedy of Gray, TN, Charlene Stacy of Mt. Carmel, TN. Brothers: Robert Mullins, Harold Mullins and Junior Mullins all of Church Hill, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 2, at 2:00 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral with Rev. Robert Patterson and Rev. Ricky Biddle officiating, interment in West Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Leonard Darnell Atchley obit

Mr. Leonard Darnell Atchley, age 71 of Marvin Avenue, Summerville,GA passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 in Floyd Medical Center.  Mr. Atchley was born in Rome, GA on April 1, 1939. He was retired from Mohawk Industries and was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church and was a Veteran having served in the United States Army.

Mr. Atchley was preceded in death by his father and mother, Bernell and Azzie Lee Loveless Atchley; son, Sid Ponder and daughter, Deborah Slayton.

Mr. Atchley is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Tapp Atchley of Summerville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Heather and Howard Pierce of Lawton, OK and Tonya and Travis Morrow of Coldwater, MI; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Billy Joe Simpson, Martha Potts, and Glenda and Archie Noles of Summerville, GA; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 2pm from the chapel of the Erwin-Pettit Funeral Home with Rev. John Mann and Rev. Leon Craig officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetary.

Mr. Atchley will lie-in-state Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6pm to 8:30pm. Mrs. Lula Mae Davis, age 65, of Summerville, GA, passed away Saturday January 22, 2011,
in Floyd Medical Center.
Mrs. Davis was born May 3, 1945, in Summerville, GA, the daughter of the late Rubin and
Daisy Lee Kincaide Williams. She was employed with American Glove, a loving mother,
grand-mother, who loved to help anyone in need. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Charles Davis.
Survivors are her husband Odell Mosteller and children, Jerry Lee Davis, Shante Stewart, Wanda Jean Suttles, brothers,
Jimmy Williams, Raymond Williams, David Williams, Allen Hudgins, sisters, Patricia Williams,
Helen Williams, Mary Turman, Dorothy Johnson, Bertha Johnson, Daisy Mae Fife, 12 grand-
children and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Vickie Grimes Obit

Mrs. Vickie Hankins Grimes, age 62, of Summerville, GA died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Grimes was born February 11, 1948 in Trion, GA, the daughter of the late Thomas Hansel and Aileen Smith Baker. She was a homemaker and member of Sardis Baptist Church. Mrs. Grimes was a veteran of the United States Air Force. She was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Grimes; and a son, Adam Grimes.

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Charles and Janice Hankins, and Josh Grimes; daughters, Cheryl Hankins and Jacqueline Ballow; brother, Tommy Baker; grandchildren, Avinlee, Alex, Kellie, Kaycie, Mark, and Kevin.

Master Hayden James Cagle Obit

Master Hayden James Cagle, age 2, of Summerville, GA died Friday, January 21, 2011 at his residence.

Master Cagle was born April 14, 2008 in Floyd County, GA, the son of Terry Wayne Cagle and Karrie Womack. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Betty Cagle; uncle, Jimmy DeBerry; great grandparents, Euclid and Molly Womack, and Mr. & Mrs. E. H. DeBerry.

Survivors include his parents, Terry Wayne Cagle and Karrie Leann Womack; grandparents, Debra England, Ray Womack, and Wayne Cagle.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p. m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Sanford DeBerry officiating. Burial will follow in Mill Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marty Newsome, Josh Robinson, Donnie Collins, and Chase DeBerry.

Rev. Burman Cape, Sr. Obit

Reverend Burman Cape Sr., 90, went home to be with the Lord from his residence Friday, Jan. 21, 2011 surrounded by his family. Reverend Cape pastored several small churches in Whitfield and Pickens County before moving to the Rossville area where he has resided for the past 59 years.

He became pastor of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in 1952 then served two other area churches, Cloud Springs Baptist Church and Bible Baptist Church. Brother Cape’s ministry covered a span of some 64 years having spent over 50 years as a pastor. He founded two churches: The Hinton Baptist Church, Hinton GA. and The Bible Baptist Church, Rossville GA. where he served for 37 years until he retired from the pastorate in 1998. Brother Cape also preached hundreds of revivals throughout the southeast. Upon retiring from the Pastorate he entered the field of Evangelism and preached until October 2010. All who knew him where inspired by his zeal and determination to be faithful to his Lord and his Calling until death.

He was preceded in death by his parents Levi and Willie Mae Walraven Cape Reverend Cape is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Evelyn Cape, sons Rev Burman( Carol) Cape, Jr. Atlanta Ga and David ( Ruby ) Cape, Ringgold; brother William Cape, Manitowoc, Wis; three grandchildren Carrie Grantham, Rachel Cape and Nathan Wells. Five great-grandchildren.

 Funeral services will be 1:00p.m. Wednesday at Bible Baptist Church 110 Talley Ave. Rossville, GA with Rev Issac Johns, Rev. Ricky Gravelly and Rev. Dennis Eggert officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 11-1 Wednesday. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ministers. Interment will follow in Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park. Mr. David Lynn Langston, age 65, of Rome, GA died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Langston was born June 20, 1945 in Trion, GA, the son of the late Jake "JC" and Bessie Lee Gilreath Langston. He was retired from G & W Electric. Mr. Langston was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. He enjoyed motorcycles, and building and flying his own airplane. He enjoyed outdoors with family and friends, and grandkids and great grandkids.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Mae Langston; brothers, Ralph Langston, Jim Langston, Ronald Langston, and Andy Langston; and a sister, Joyce Mitchell.

Survivors include his children, David Lynn Langston, Jr.& wife, Connie Langston, Jared Deforest Langston, Eugene Thomas Langston, Michelle Dawn Norton, & husband, Jerry Norton; sisters,Ruby Eller, Nell Thomas, and Sybil Shields; brothers, Charles Langston, Joe Langston, Larry Langston, Steve Langston, and George "Jeep" Langston; 10 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; and a number of Nieces and Nephews.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Old Trion Cemetery with Rev. Billy Wright officiating. Mrs. Nelda Jean Reynolds, age 68, of Lyerly GA passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011 in Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Reynolds was born October 4, 1942 in Summerville, GA, the daughter of Roscoe and Clara Atkins Steele. She was a member of Four Mile Baptist Church. Mrs. Reynolds was a former employee of Bigelow-Sanford. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Grover C. Atkins and Lillie Mae Atkins and Theodore Steele and Beulah Steele.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Eugene Reynolds; daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Sidney Snead; Robin and James Lemmings, JR; parents, Roscoe and Clara Steele; grandchildren, Ryan David Gifford, Caitlin Danielle Gifford, Alyssa Nicole Lemmings and Alexis Brianna Lemmings; and a number of Nieces and Nephews.

Roy Ralph Kellett Jr. Obit

Mr. Roy Ralph Kellett, JR, age 66, of Summerville, GA passed away January 18, 2011 at his residence after an extended illness.

Mr. Kellett was born December 28, 1944 in Summerville, GA, the son of Artichia Warren Kellett and the late Ralph Kellett, SR. Mr. Kellett was a member of the South Summerville Baptist Church. Mr. Kellett had served Chattooga County as sheriff for 17 years. Mr. Kellett was also a member of the Summerville-Trion Rotary Club and the Georgia Sheriff’s Association. He was named Democrat of the year in 2006. Mr. Kellett was a member of the Leadership Chattooga Program. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served his country in Vietnam. Other than his father, Mr. Kellett was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Kellett Jones.

Mr. Kellett is survived by his beloved wife, Aleta Kellett; son, Kyle Kellett and wife, Lori Starkey Kellett; daughter, Heather Hall Spann and husband, Bruce Spann; mother, Artichia Warren Kellett; grandchildren, Kylor Kellett, Gracie Farmer, Hayden Eagle, Taylor Eagle, Kayla Spann, and Kelsi Spann; and a sister, Jody Kellett Maples and husband, Will Maples; and several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Thursday, January 20, 2011 at South Summerville Baptist Church with Rev. David Craven, Rev. Jimmy Bryant, and Rev. Kevin Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Garden with graveside rites conducted by Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 American Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be Doug Stephens, Ronnie Winters, Mark Schrader, Wayne Pace, Billy Edwards, and Jack Floyd.
