Mr. Garry Mike Baker Obit

Mr. Garry Mike Baker, age 54, of Lyerly, GA died Friday, January 14, 2011 at Oakview Nursing and Rehab.

Mr. Baker was born August 16, 1956 in Summerville, GA, son of the late Frank Columbus and Nina McNeese Baker. He was an employee of Mohawk.

Survivors include his daughter, Christie Selman; brother, Frankie Baker; granddaughter, Angelina Selman; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2011 from the Chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Chaplain Alan Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in Lyerly Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tony Blalock, Jimmy Blalock, Shane McGuire, Mark Barham, Jason Baker, and Trey Foster. Honorary Pallbearers will be Savannah Bice, Emily Vaughan, and Paul and Shirley Ratcliff.

Mr. Baker will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Monday.

Mr. Rod Hardeman

MR. ROD HARDEMAN, age 88, of Allen Street-Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011, at his residence. A native of Fort Payne, Alabama He was born to the late Homer Harley, Sr. and Edna Rosa Beaty Hardeman on November 27, 1922. Mr. Hardeman was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church, Veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Navy, and was retired Sales Representative for Chemical Processing of Georgia. He was preceded in death by a son-the late Rodney Hardeman, sister-the late Flora Mae Whisenant, and brothers-the late J. B. Hardeman, the late Ed Hardeman, and the late Winfred Hardeman.

Surviving are His wife-Frances Thomas Hardeman; son & daughters-in-law-Gary R. & Arlene Hardeman and Jan Hardeman of Summerville; three Grandchildren, three Great Grandchildren; brother-Homer Hardeman, Jr. of Douglasville; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 15th, at 2:00 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Summey and Rev. Doyle Waters officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery. Pallbearers-James Moore, Gerald Dempsey, Buddy Young, Jerry O’Donnell, J.B. Cleveland, Dick Lowery, Chris Corbin, Harold Jackson, Earle Rainwater, & Charlie Williams; Honorary Pallbearers-Seekers Sunday School Class of Summerville First Baptist Church. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Summerville First Baptist Church.

Robert Lee Bramlett obit

Mr. Robert Lee Bramlett, age 80, of LaFayette, GA, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Bramlett was born August 28, 1930, in Cherokee County, Alabama, the son of the late Abraham and Guy Hurley Bramlett. He was a member of the LaFayette Church of Christ. Mr. Bramlett worked as a car dealer.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Bramlett; sons, Bobby Bramlett, and Gary Bramlett; daughter, Jane Drummond; sister, Nancy Hatcher, 8 Grandchildren, and several Great-grandchildren.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Summerville Cemetery with Minister Eddie Boggess officiating. Pallbearers will be Bobby Bramlett, JR, Earl Bramlett, Eddie Bramlett, Casey Bramlett, Jackie Cooley, Mike Barnes, and Mike Clem.

Mr. Bramlett will be in state at Mason Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.

Mr. Oren Andrew Hartline

Mr. Oren Andrew Hartline, age 101, of Gaylesville, AL, passed away Tuesday January 11, 2011, in Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Hartline was born December 23, 1909, in Broomtown, AL, the son of the late Reed & Liffie Gardner Hartline. He was retired from spinning department of Riegel Textile, and was a member of the Blanche United Methodist. He was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Hartline.

Survivors include his wife, Nora Lee Hartline; children, Charles Hartline, Lenell Pierce, Anita Adams, and Aleta Willingham; brother, Hugh Hartline, 14 Grandchildren, 20 Great-grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p. m. Friday, January 14, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allen Copeland and Rev. Jim Van Pelt officiating. Burial will follow in Moseley Cemetery. Mrs. Dorothy Nell Allen Housch 94 formerly of Rome and Cave Spring GA. passed away Sunday January 9th at Wildwood Health Care in Talking Rock GA. ..Mrs. Housch was born February 7th , 1916 in Chattooga County…She was a homemaker and Methodist by faith…She was preceded in death by her husband , Archie Doster Pete Housch, father and mother John Beverly Allen and Ida Young Allen, 3 brothers and 6 sisters…She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Flowers of Jasper, her son Ronald Housch of Springfield, VA.  Grandchildren Jennifer Consaul of Cumming, GA. Mr. Bobby Ronald Lee, Jr, age 45, of Lyerly, GA, passed away Saturday January 8, 2011, in Floyd Medical Center. Mr. Lee was born Feburary 19, 1965, in Atlanta, GA, the Son of Bobby Ronald Lee, Sr, and Edna Ray Wilkerson. He worked for J Bar and was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church.

Survivors include his Wife, Wanda Hatfield Lee, Children, William Keith Lee, John Tyler Lee, Jessica Nicole Lee, Layla Alexis Lee, Step-children, Candy Dawson, Tameca Edwards, Rocky Hatfield, Father, Bobby Ronald Lee, Sr, Mother, Edna Wilkerson, Sister, Davin Wilkerson Snowball.

Mrs. Helen Josephine Rapley, age 89, of Gaylesville, AL, passed away Monday January 10, 2011, in Cherokee County Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Rapley was born September 28, 1921, in El Paso, TX, the daughter of the late McConnell Lee Hutchins and Carrie Long Hutchins. Mrs. Rapley was a retired school teacher. She was a member of the Berea Church of Christ, and while living in South Carolina, she was a member of Georgetown Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Arthur Rapley, and daughter, Martha Anne Rapley Murphy.

Survivors include son-in-law, Max B. Murphy, Gaylesville, AL, son & daughter-in-law, Charles and Lynn Rapley, Andrews, S.C., grandchildren, Bryant S. Rapley, A. Derrick & Claudine Rapley, Melisa Rapley, McConnell Luke & Deanna Murphy, Max (Jr) & Connie Murphy,Michael A. & Heather Murphy, great-grandchildren, Casey Ward, Raelee Rapley, Chloe Rapley, Sean Rapley, Cadence Rapley, Luke Murphy, Cole Murphy, Hannah Murphy, John Michael Murphy.

Mr. John Thornton Stubbs Obit

MR. JOHN THORNTON STUBBS, JR., age 92, of Highway #337-Summerville, Georgia –Teloga Community, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011, morning at his residence. Born in Americus, Georgia on September 1, 1918 He was the son of the late John Thornton Stubbs, Sr. and Ann McWhorter Stubbs. Mr. Stubbs was an elder and member of Beersheba Presbyterian Church, graduated from Presbyterian College, was a Veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army, and worked for the U.S. Postal Service serving as Summerville Post Master for thirty four years. He was preceded in death by his wife the late Jean Thomas Stubbs.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law-Ann Stubbs Maddux (Dennis) of Summerville; sons and daughter-in-law-Tom Stubbs of Woodstock and John Thornton Stubbs, III (Dawn) of Summerville; grandson-John Thomas Maddux of Summerville.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 14th, at 3:00 p.m. from Beersheba Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ronald Ragan, Rev. Tom Rogers and Rev. Paul Bayerl officiating, interment in Macedonia Cemetery.
