Mrs. Roberta Louise Wagoner, age 68, of Trion, GA died Monday, May 30, 2011 at the
Specialty Hospital at Floyd.
Mrs. Wagoner was born April 18, 1943 in Camp Rucker, AL, the daughter of the late Vernon
and Arthena Spencer Bishop. She had worked as an electronics technician with Harris Corporation.
Other than her parents, Mrs. Wagoner was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Bishop
and Linda Torres.
Survivors include her husband, Morris Wagoner, daughter, Cynthia Hubbard, Trion, GA; sons, Alan
Miller, Moorehead City, NC and Mike Miller, Houston, TX; sister, Betty Jo Bishop, Tampa, FL;
grandchildren, Keith Miller, Nina Miller, Blake Miller, Cole Miller, Jessica Hubbard; great
grandson, Noah Miller.
Mrs. Wagoner will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from
6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Thursday. Mrs. Wagoner will be cremated.

Mr. Clarence Walter “Sonny” Caldwell Obit

Mr. Clarence Walter " Sonny" Caldwell, age 74, of Menlo, GA died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Caldwell was born December 31, 1936 in Lyerly, GA, the son of the late Clarence Carlece and Annie Lou Roberts Caldwell. He was retired from Paulding County Government. Mr. Caldwell has written many songs and poems. He loved painting pictures and he sung with the Gospel Merits for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Burrage Caldwell; daughter, Phyllis Carol Caldwell Bond; grandson, Jason Anthony Bond, Sr; great grandson, Jason Anthony Bond, JR.; and 2 step-great grandchildren, Terrell Stokes and Tymeria Bond.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Green and Rev. Billy Dempsey officiating. Interment will follow in Ami Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Vaughn, Michael W. Burrage, Anthony Burrage, Jason A. Bond, Sr., David Wiley, and Pete Vaughn.

Mr. Caldwell will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011.

Miss Mary Frances Cavin, age 84, of Gaylesville, Alabama, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A native of Gaylesville, Alabama, Ms. Cavin was born September 21, 1926, daughter of the late Charlie Alvin Cavin and Minnie Pearl Willingham Cavin. She was a member of the Chesterfield Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 60 years, and prior to retirement, was employed with Best Manufacturing as an Inspector. Ms. Cavin was also a member of the Best Silver Club, sold Avon products, loved to teach Sunday School and enjoyed being around children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Dovie Boyd, Faye Langston, Minnie Cavin, Ruby Deering, Betty Jean Mountain and Helen Cavin.

Ms. Cavin is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Joe Wheeler and Evaughn Cavin of Gaylesville; “God Children”, Robin Calvert and Stormy Deering; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services for Ms. Cavin will be held Monday, May 30, 2011 at 4:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Ledford and Rev. Robert Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in the AMI Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Cavin, Ricky Philpot, Teddy Calvert, Leo Bridges, Gordon Lee Boyd, Ronnie Joe Boyd, Loy Langston, and Gary Howell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Buster Cavin and the Deacons of Chesterfield Baptist Church.

Ms. Cavin will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.

MR. ORVILLE ROBERT “DOC” WHITE, age 74, of White Oak Road-Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at his residence. Born in Chattooga County,Ga., Berryton Community on January 13, 1937, he was a son of the late Robert Lee and Dovie Mae Tuggle White. Mr. White was a Self Employed Contractor and attended Summerville Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Imogene Cochran White, of Summerville. Two daughters: Robbie Baker Dooley of Summerville and Becky White Humphrey of Hixon, TN. One son, Orville Robert White, Jr. of Rome. A brother, Daniel L. White of Fort Oglethorpe, GA and Special Buddy “Shorty”. Six Grandchildren, Nine Great-Grandchildren, one Great Great Granddaughter, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Chasteen, Pastor Danny Harkins and Pastor Charles Izell officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Orville Robert White, Jr., Jamie Mitchell, Nicholas Dooley, Stanley McGraw, Trey Foster, Jason Baker and Aaron Dooley. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home.

Muriel Neal Maxey, age 91, of #2894 Old Summerville Road, NE, Armuchee, Georgia passed away Wednesday morning, May 25th, 2011 at a Rome, Georgia hospital following a brief illness.

A native of Walker County, Georgia, Mrs. Maxey was born on May 14th, 1920, the daughter of the late Abraham P. and Myrtle Storey Neal. She was a graduate of West Armuchee High School and had spent the greater part of her life in Floyd County, Georgia. Mrs. Maxey was a 61 year member of the New Armuchee Baptist Church where she was a member of the JOY Club and the TEL Sunday school class. For a period of time Mrs. Maxey was associated with Celanese of Rome, Dellingers of Rome and prior to her retirement was associated with Integrated Products of Rome. Mrs. Maxey was preceded in death by 1 sister and 2 brothers. She was married on December 20th, 1941 to W.H. “Jack” Maxey who preceded her in death on September 16th, 1996.

Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Patricia Maxey of Armuchee, Georgia and Perry and Beverly Maxey of Dacula, Georgia; 2 grandsons and their wives, Wesley and Julie Maxey of Dallas, Georgia and Darin and Jamie Maxey of Dacula, Georgia; 4 great-grandchildren, Nicole, Joshua, Alexis and Logan; 1 sister, Ezma “Tootsie” Pettyjohn of Rocky Face, Georgia; 2 brothers, James Neal and Windom Neal both of West Armuchee, Georgia. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Muriel Neal Maxey will be held on Friday afternoon, May 27th, 2011 at 2 o’clock at the New Armuchee Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Kelley and Rev. Edward E. Holsomback officiating with interment to follow in the family lot of Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Maxey will lie-in-state at the church on Friday afternoon from 1 until 2 o’clock.

Mrs. Maxey will remain at Fred Talley’s Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Thursday) evening from 6 until 8 o’clock. At other hours they will be at the home of a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Patricia Maxey at #51 Old Piney Road, Armuchee, Georgia.

The following will serve as active pallbearers, Kevin Pettyjohn, Kent Pettyjohn, Craig Henderson, Brian Neal, Lamar Neal and Trey Krouse. Members of the JOY Club and the TEL Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Active and honorary pallbearers are requested to meet at the church on Friday afternoon by 1:30.

Mr. Stanfield was born October 2, 1944 in Chattanooga, TN, the son of the late E. B and Pearl
Catherine Nations Stanfield. He was retired from Best Manufacturing. Mr. Stanfield was a member
of the United By Faith Baptist Church. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by
brothers, Ralph, Neil, Bill, John, Jerry, and Ray Stanfield; sisters, Inez Nash, Patsy Stanfield,
and Mildred Watson.
Survivors include sons, Eddie Stanfield and Michael Stanfield, JR; daughters, Jennifer Boyd,
Christy Dodd, and Lisa Noyes; grandchildren, Gracelyn Rose Drake, Holly Stanfield, Jordan Dodd,
and Taylor Dodd.
Graveside and interment services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Ami
Cemetery with Rev. R. C Boyd and Rev. Barry Brown officiating. Pallbearers will be John

her Lord in Heaven, on Thursday May 19, 2011.
She was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Edna Babcock. She was preceded
by her 1st husband, Douglas Ellison, sister, Dorothy Botcher, and 2 brothers,
Ben Babcock, and Ken Babcock.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, William Gayler; dear children, Lynda
and Doug; granddaughter, Beth; and several nieces and nephews.

MR. ROY LEE HUNTER, age 62, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday morning in Chickmauga, following an extended illness. A native Chattooga Countian He was born to the late Ed Hunter and Florence Hartline on January 21, 1949. Mr. Hunter was retired from the City of Summerville Water Department after 32 years of service. Preceding Him in death are a sister-the late Martha Hunter, brother-the late Robert Hunter, and step mother-the late Bonnie Hunter.

Surviving are daughter-Kimberlee Lovett of Chickmauga; son-Michael Hunter of Lyerly; sisters-Fran Mount of Pisga, Al., and Virginia Wade of Summerville; brother-Edward Hunter of Subligna; grandchildren-Brandon Hunter, Dillon Hunter, Meaghan Lovett, Lean Lovett, Amber Lovett, Preston Wade, Todd Wade, and Adrian Wade; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Sunday, May 22, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral with Rev. Jerry Rutledge and Larry Brooks officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery. Mr. John Vernell Stewart, age 94, of Summerville, GA , passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 at
Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Stewart was born March 14, 1917 in Langston, AL, the son of the late Marian Otis and Lou
Emmy Clayton Stewart. Mr. Stewart had worked at Riegel Textiles, E. T. Barwick Mills, and
he retired from Trion Recreation Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church Trion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lois Smith Stewart.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-n-law, Charles and Carolyn Stewart, Lake Isabella,
CA, Kenneth Stewart, Pennville, GA, Billy and Lisa Stewart, Trion, GA; sisters, Burma
Johnson, Section, AL, Cleo Wilks, Scottsboro, AL, Charlotte Davis, Chancellor, AL;
5 Grandchildren; and 7 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home
with Rev. Kevin Norton and Rev. Jimmy Wilborn officiating. Burial will follow in Fuller Cemetery.
