Mrs. Dorothy Mae "Dot" Cargle, age 80, of Little Sand Mtn., GA died Monday, October 12, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Cargle was born January 18, 1929 in Chattooga County, GA, the daughter of the lateGordon Lee Reynolds and Lillian Tudor Reynolds. She was a homemaker and an avid craft maker.She loved to cook. Mrs. Cargle was a member of the Little Sand Mountain Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Pledger, and brothers, Lee Reynolds and DanReynolds, son-in-law, Larry Childers. Mrs. Cargle is survived by her husband, James "Shorty" Cargle, to whom she was married March 14, 1949, children, Debbie Childers, Stanley and Karen Cargle, Tommy and Vicki Cargle, allof Armuchee, GA; brothers, Jerry Reynolds, Ringgold, GA, Henry Reynolds, Trion, GA, andFred Reynolds, Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Jason Childers, Joshua Childers, Christopher Cargle, Stephanie Cargle, Lindsey Cargle, and Zackary Cargle; and several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Little Sand MountainBaptist Church with Rev. Larry Scoggins and Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Mr. Jeffery Neal "Little Jeff" Smith, age 40, of Lyerly, GA died Monday, October 12, 2009 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. Jeffery was born November 14, 1969, the son of Neal Lance and Lois Marie Smith Lance. Jeffery attended LMCS Day Hab. He loved going for rides and being with his family. He never met a stranger and had a smile and "Howdy" for everyone. He attended the West Berryton Faith Temple. Survivors include his care givers, Jeff and Laura Dotson, Sean Dotson, and Zachary Dotson, brother, Barry Lance; sisters, Eva Lance, Needa Lance, and Teresa Lance. Mr. James Martin "Ted" Hendrix, age 66, of Summerville, GA died Monday, October 12, 2009 atRedmond Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hendrix was born February 15, 1943 in Trion, GA, the son of the late William RaymondHendrix and Edith Chastain Hendrix. He was employed with Mt. Vernon Mills and was a memberof the Quarter Century Club. Mr. Hendrix was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam.  Mr. L. D. McCary, age 83, of Summerville, GA died October 11, 2009 at Oakview Nursing andRehabilitation Center. Mr. McCary was born November 20, 1925, in Chattooga County, GA, the son of the late Reuben Thomas McCary and Laura Gamble McCary. He was retired from the Trion Police Department where he was employed for 22 years. Mr. McCary was a member of the Central Avenue Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in WWII. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Henry McCary and Melvin Eugene McCary. Survivors include a brother, R. C. McCary, SR; sisters, Dorothy Robertson, Paula Williamson,Mary Garrard, Lois Winters, Ivaline McCary, and Ann Fordham; and several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services for Mr. McCary will be held at 11:00 a. m. Mrs. Jo Ann Anglin, age 75, of Summerville, GA died Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Floyd MedicalCenter. Mrs. Anglin was born September 25, 1934 in Summerville, GA, the daughter of the late HerbertP. Whitley and Sadie Mathis Whitley. Mrs. Anglin was retired from Mohawk Industries.

Survivors include her husband, John F. "Jack" Anglin, Jr.;  sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney L. Anglin and Harriet Anglin; Michael L.Anglin and Lois Anglin;  grandchildren, Justin Anglin, Jeffery  (Karen),  Anglin, Brett , (Ilene), Anglin, Jacob Anglin, Garrett, (Ellen), Anglin and Suzanne Anglin; great grandchild, Madeline Anglin.

Mr. Robert Eugene “Gene” Dyer, age 88, passed away Wednesday morning at Oakview Nursing Home.  He was born October 21, 1920 in Chattooga County, son of the late Robert E. Lee & Hattie Stiles Dyer.  He was retired from Mt. Vernon Riegel and was a member of the Church of God Northside.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and in the U.S. Navy for 4 years during World War II.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marion B. Dyer.Survivors include his wife, Ann Daniel Dyer, Trion; son and daughter-in-law, Kerry Wayne and Nan Dyer, Chickamauga, GA; one daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn Jean and Ted Clark, Summerville; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Doris Dyer, Augusta, GA; sister and brother-in-law, June and John Drennan, Trion; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October, 9, 2009 at 12noon from the Chapel of Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev.
