Mr. Jeff Roland Brown, age 81, of Trion, GA died Saturday, September 26, 2009 at LaFayette Health Care.

Mr. Brown was born February 24, 1928 in Walker County, GA the son of the late Chiles Fallor and Ludy Mae Bandy Brown. He was retired from Riegel Textile and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Other than his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a daughter, Janie M. Brown; son, Gene R. Brown; sisters, Elizabeth Brown, Isadora Teems and Mozell Houston; brothers, Paulie Brown, D. C. Brown, and Hall Franklin Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Brown; children, Dean J. Brown and Sheila M. Massey; brother, Tiny W. Brown; sisters, Alice Brooks and Janie Adams; 8 Grandchildren; and 11 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Wilborn and Rev. Harold Helton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Larry Fair, Jackie Hall, Chad Nix, Dwight Brown, Shane Tinney, and Wayne Wilson.

Inf. Cassy Alora Helms, daughter of Robert Creswell and Cristie Helms, died September 24, 2009, in Floyd Medical Center. Mr. Bobby Wayne McDaniel, age 55, of Menlo, GA died Wednesday, September 23, 2009 athis residence. Mr. McDaniel was born May 6, 1954 in Trion, GA the son of Earl McDaniel and the late WinnieLee Crouch McDaniel. He was employed at Northwest Regional Hospital. Mr. McDaniel wasa member of the Pennville Christian Missionary Alliance Church. He was a member of thePlumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local #766, the Alpine Masonic Lodge # 211, and he was a Boy Scout Leader of the Menlo Troop. Mr. McDaniel is survived by his wife, Sheryl Wilson McDaniel; his children, Amber Sheryl McDaniel,Menlo, GA, Shanna Bobbie and husband, James Ammons, Eatonton, GA; his father,Earl James McDaniel, Summerville, GA; his sisters, Earlene Elliott, Rome, GA and Sue Murphy,Jamestown, AL; his brothers, Davis McDaniel, Pennville, GA, Tim McDaniel, Pennville, GA, andTony McDaniel Rockmart, GA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Nickolas Jordan Osley, age 14, of Summerville, GA died Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in a drowning accident.

Nick was born in Floyd County, GA on December 9, 1994 the son of Preston Osley and Joy Ray Osley. At the time of his death he was a student at the Summerville Middle School, a member of the wrestling and football teams. He had a loving personality and was a “mama’s boy”. He loved God and was everyones hero.

Survivors include his parents, Preston and Joy Osley of Summverville, GA; two brothers, Seth Osley and Chase Osley both of Summerville, GA; paternal-grandparents, Alene Smith and Chuck Osley; maternal grandparents, Pat and Mack Ray; his girlfriend, Delona Duvall.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. at The Church at Northside with Rev. Steve Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.

           David H. Zook, Sr. age 62, of #12581 Highway 100, Lyerly, Georgia died Monday evening, September 21^st, 2009 at a local hospital. A native of Fulton County, Georgia, Mr. Zook was born on June 27^th, 1947, the son of the late Sherman P. and Dale Evans Fricks Zook.   He has been a residence of Chattooga County for 10 years moving there from Buchannan, GA. and was a member of the Shepard Chapel Church.  For a period of time Mr. Zook was associated with Southwire as an electrician and a supervisor.  

 Mr. Zook was married on January 12^th, 1966 to Virginia C. “Jenny” Perry Zook who preceded him in death on February 16^th, 2008.             Survivors include 2 daughters, Tina Barnett of Cedar Bluff, Ala. and Debbie Calhoun of Tallapoosa, GA.; 1 son, David H. Zook, Jr. of Lyerly, GA.; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Paul and Junior, 1 great-grandson, Christopher, 1 sister, Dianna Fricks of Rome;3 brothers, Johnny Fricks, Samuel Zook and Phil Zook.  Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for David H. Zook, Sr. will be held on Thursday afternoon, September 24^th, 2009 at 2 o’clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Horace Humphery officiating.

Mrs. Bonnie Mae Lowrance, age 81, of Trion, GA, passed away Thursday September 17, 2009 in Redmond Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Lowrance was born April 10, 1928, in Chattooga County, GA, the daughter of the late Herman and Nancy Stella Gentry Craig. She was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Lowrance retired from Riegel Textile Mills. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Alvan Lowrance. Mrs. Betty Jean Crane Stowe, age 73 of Ringgold, GA passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Stowe was born in Jamestown, AL on June 28, 1936, daughter of the late Arthur Crane and Flora Hestor Crane. She was a member of the New Hope Pentecostal Church and was a homemaker.

 Mrs. Stowe was preceded in death by her husband, Frank “Bud” Stowe. Mrs. Stowe is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Debbie Stowe of Calhoun; daughters and sons-in-law. Rita and Larry Pickard and Lecia and Red Bethune of LaFayette, Donna and Bob Bellomy of Graysville, and Tina Smolik of Ringgold; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Dana Kay Hatcher, age 50, of Trion, GA died Friday, September 4, 2009 at her residence.Mrs. Hatcher was born October 17, 1958 in Hamilton County, TN, the daughter of Marlin

Staton Russell and the late Betty June Tumlin. She was a homemaker.

 Survivors include her husband, Kenny L. Hatcher, son, John R. "Trey" Parrish, III; brothers,Kyle Russell, Kevin Russell; sisters and brother-in-law, Nelta Smith, Lana & Randy Visage;

and several Nieces and Nephews.

Mary Lorena Smith Keith, age 91, a long-time resident of the Pennville Community in Summerville, G passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at Shepherd Hill Nursing Home.

She was born in Catoosa County GA, September 30, 1917 daughter of the late Charles Calvin Smith and Laura Dailcy Smith.  She also the adopted daughter of the late George and Leah Dietz Smith.  She was a member of the Pennville Missionary and Alliance Church. 

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Phillip Keith; one brother, George Dailcy Smith and two sisters, Ruth Smith Keith and Velma Smith Davis.Mrs. Davis is survived by one son, Rev. Charles Edwin Keith (Elsie) of LaFayette, GA; one daughter, Carolyn Williams (Jimmie) of Summerville, GA; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Rachel Gregory of Signal Mountain, TN; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 11am, from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Chaplain Mark Atwood officiating.  Interment will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.Mrs. Keith will lie-in-state, Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friend from 6 to 8pm.
