Mrs. Mary Nell Mull, age 81, of Summerville, GA died Friday, June 26, 2009 at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Mull was born April 4, 1928 in Trion, GA, the daughter of the late Emmett Hines and Mable Hale Vineyard. She was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills and was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Mull was preceded in death by a grandson, Jamey Mull and a sister, Margaret Hawkins.

Survivors include her husband, William J . Mull; son, Gary Mull; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Roger Farmer and Linda and Jackie Bowman, all of Summerville, GA; sisters, Betty Stoner, Summerville, GA, Barbara Farrow, Trion, GA, and Jean Allen, Rome, GA; brothers, Mitchell Hines and Ronnie Pettyjohn, both of Trion, GA; grandchildren, Gerald Mull, Angie Mull, Jeremy Bowman, Matthew Farmer, Michael Farmer, Leann Webb, and Caleb Mull; and 6 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Wilborn officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Bowman, Matthew Farmer, Michael Farmer, Dustin Webb, Jimmy Mull, Gerald Mull, and Ray Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be the Nursing Staff of Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Mull will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Saturday, June 27, 2009.

Mrs. Wanda Nell Elgin Parris, fondly known as “Peachy” passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Parris was born in Trion, Georgia on September 8, 1934, daughter of the late Otto Harrison Elgin and Wanda Bell Elgin. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Summerville and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Parris is survived by her husband of 49 years, Earl “Red” Parris of Summerville; Son and Daughter-in-law, Earl H. and Chris Parris of Summerville; Daughter and Son-in-law, Katharine Parris and Svein Romstad of Roswell, GA, and Wanda Nell Hudson and Jerry Pollard of Rome; grandchildren, Kim Parris of Gainesville, Amanda Parris of Summerville, and John H. Pollard of Rome.
Graveside and Interment Services for Mrs. Parris will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 9:00 A.M. in the Summerville Cemetery with Rev. Greg King officiating.

MRS. GERTHIE L. HAMPTON, age 72, of L.M. Thomas, Jr. Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Wednesday (June 24, 2009) in a Dalton, Georgia hospital following a sudden attack. A native of Jackson County, Alabama.  She was born to the late George Alvin and Ethel Golf Cooper on December 6, 1936. Mrs. Hampton was a member of the Ark of Faith Holiness Church and was retired from the tufting department of Aladdin Carpet. She was predeceased by siblings Ruby Peterman, Billy Cooper, Leonard Cooper, and George Alvin Cooper and step son-James Paul Hampton.

Surviving are her husband, James Hampton; son and daughter-in-law, James Leon and Vickie Ann Hampton of Summerville; sister, Emma McDonald; brothers, Raymond Cooper and James R. Cooper all of Summerville; grandchildren, James B. Hampton, Tabatha Hampton, and Christopher Hampton; four Great Grandchildren; five Nieces, nine Nephews, several Great Nieces and Great Nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday (June 28th) at 1:30 P.M. from the Ark of Faith Holiness Church with Pastor Lamar Rich officiating, interment in Lyerly Cemetery. Active Pallbearers Stacy Spencer, James Riddle, J. D. Riddle, Kenneth Cooper, Arly Timmons, Kenny Cooper, and Cody Parker. Mrs. Hampton will be in state at her residence #371 L.M. Thomas, Jr. Road-Summerville after 5:00 P.M. Friday.

Mrs. Frances June Pepe

MRS. FRANCES JUNE PEPE, age 80, of Menlo, Georgia went to be with the LORD Wednesday (June 24, 2009) morning. A loving wife, mother, and aunt, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Orange, FL. and attended the Menlo First Baptist Church. Mrs. Pepe was born in New Castle, PA. to the late Earl and Nettie Logan Chaffee on July 4, 1928. She was predeceased by sons, Joseph Earl Pepe &, Earl Francis Pepe; brother, Wayne Chaffee and sisters, Edith Stephenson and Beverly Harper.

Surviving are Her husband, Edward L. Pepe and daughter, Nettie Pepe Parham; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Interment service will be held Today (Thursday-June 25th) at 10:00 A.M. in Summerville Cemetery; Memorial service will be held Saturday (June 27th) at 3:00 P.M. from the Menlo First Baptist Church with Pastors Scott Quinn and Billy Dempsey officiating both services.

Eloise Pruitt Magnusson Obit

Mrs. Eloise Pruitt Magnusson, age 83, of Cloudland, Ga passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Fifth Avenue Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Magnusson was born in Cherokee County, Alabama on February 2, 1926, daughter of the late General Pruitt and Gladys Cavin Pruitt. She was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Magnusson was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse “Buck” Carlton Magnusson; Grandson, Kevin R. Godfrey, and a brother, Leon Pruitt.

Mrs. Magnusson is survived by a Son and Daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Jan Magnusson of Rome; Grandchildren, Jason and Sara Magnusson, Brooke Magnusson, Phillip and Daphne Godfrey; Great Grandchildren, Noah and Jacob Magnusson; Brother, Sam Pruitt and a sister, Ludane Gilreath.

Graveside and Interment Services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jack Green officiating.

Pallbearers will be Hershal Pruitt, Danny Deering, Kenny Lowenburg, Jason Magnusson, Mus Johnson and Josh Wilcox.

Mr. James Lively, age 79, of Summerville, Ga, passed away Saturday June 20, 2009, in Redmond Regional Medical Center. Mr. Lively was born June 12, 1930, in Chattooga County Georgia, the son of the late Lother James and Mary Lou Owens Lively. He was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean Conflict. Survivors include Daughter and Son-in-law, Glenda and Lebron Young, Trion, GA, Sons and Daughter-in-law, Carlton Lively, Nashville, TN, Ben and Dianne Lively, Summerville, GA, Grandchildren, Amber & Jeremey Lightsay, R.J. & Heather Young, Tonya & Adam Hogue, Tabitha Lively, Tristan Lively, 2 Great-grandchildren, Logan & Chloe Young.

William (Bill) Wilson

Mr. William H. (Bill) Wilson, age 88, of Bryant Road, Summerville, GA, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday. June 17, 2009.  A native of Walker County Georgia, he was born to the late William Carl and Myrtle Mae Purtain Wilson on January 2, 1921.  Mr. Wilson was a member of the Summerville First United Methodist Church, a career veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II and Korea.  He was a retired civil service in the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  He was a member of Chattooga Lodge #704 F & AM and the NAFR, Rome Chapter.  He was preceded in death by siblings, the late Fannie Mae Lacy and the late Curtis Wilson and the late John Henry Wilson.Surviving are his wife, Odessa B. Lacy Wilson; sons & daughters-in-law, W. A. & Claudia Ann Wilson of Acworth and Thomas Harold & Jean McClain Wilson of Roswell; grandchildren, Nicole Kathleen Wilson, Thomas Andrew Wilson and Jennifer Leigh Wilson; brother, James Wilson of Panama City Beach, FL; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be Saturday, June 20, at 11am from the J.D. Mrs. Rebecca Hankins, age 85, of 1011 Ponders Lane, Dalton, GA, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2009, in Hamilton Medical Center.  Mrs. Hankins was born July 14, 1923, in Valdosta, GA.  She was a homemaker and a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church.Mrs. Hankins was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Hankins; sons, Ricky Hankins and Malloy Hankins; brothers, Joe Wilson, John Wilson and Sylvester Wilson.Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-laws, Charles and Mary Ellen Hankins of Varnell, GA, and Carlton and Joyce Hankins of Ft. Pierce, FL; her daughters, Frances Smith of Rocky Face, GA and Annie Lee Mathis of Dalton, GA; several grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 19, 2009, at 11am from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Morgan officiating.  Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Hankins will lie-in-state Friday, June 19, 2009, at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 9am to 11am.Pall-bearers will be Eric Hankins, Charles Hankins, Jr., Terry Mathis, David Mathis,
