Wilson Obit

Mrs. Chatherine Virinia Wilson, age 83 of Summerville, passed away Saturday evening in the local nursing home.  She was a native of Chattooga County born to the late Earl Freeman and Annie Ruth Bullard Newsome on June 14, 1925.

She was a member of the Northside Church of Christ and a graduate of Summerville High School.  She also attended the Carrol Lynn Business School of Rome.  Mrs. Wilson was a retired bookeeper for the former Wilson Motor Company and was preceded in death by a daughter, the late Brenda Wilson.  Also by a sister, the late Maxine Newsome Marshall and a brother the late Edwin Earl Newsome, Sr. and by a nephew the late Edwin Earl Newsome, Jr.  and a niece the late Nedra Wilson.

Surivng are husband, Ewert Quinton Wilson, Sr, daughter and son in law, Becky and Gary Duke, son and daughter in law, Ewart Quinton Wilson, JR and Susan Wilson all of Summerville.  Also a sister, Charlotte Brand of Covington, GA, grandchildren Wendi Harkins, Shelley Wilson, Kyle Duke, Erin Shireman, Jeremiah Wilson, great grandchildren, Alex Wilson, Chandler Mitchell, Katherine Duke, Addyson Shireman, Adrianna Shireman, and Nicholas Duke and a special cousin Mike Dillard along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral servies will be held Tuesday at 1:30 PM from the JD Hill Memorial Chapel of the Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Ministers Ron Fisher and Tommy Broome officiating.  Intemrent in the Summerville Cemetery.  Active pallbearers: Jon Payne, Dee Windle, Lan Cordle, Rex Evans, Mike Wilson, and Jamie Renslow.  Honorary Pallbearers:  Dr. W.M. Payne, Dr. Bruce Lee, Bobby Lee Cook, Ralph Kellett, Don Baker, Barry Duke, Buddy Windle, Bron Love, Rose Willingham, Preston Greer, Betty Nally and the Staff of the Oak View Nursing Home.  Visitation will be Monday from 6 until 8 PM at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mary Ann Nix

Mrs. Mary Ann Nix age 71 of Price Bridge Road, Lyerly Georgia passed away Firday in a Rome hospital.  Mrs. Nix was born in Chattooga County, Georgia on September 3, 1937 a daughter of the late Turnp and Lula Smith  Alexander.  She was a member of the Berryton Baptist Church and was retired from Bigelow-Sanford Carpet shipping department.

Surviving are husband – Gene Nix; children, Howard Lee Nix of Ft. Payne, Ciba Lyn Bell of LaFayette, Kathryn Rogers of Summerville, and Jeannie Dell Renfroe of Lyerly; sister Dorothy Igou of Johnson City, TN; grandchildren, Shannon Nix, Jamie Davis, Stevi White, J.R. Goggins, Alan Goggins, Tanya Reed, Josh Bell, Aaron Bell, Summer Nolan, Drek Reynolds, Alyse Reynolds, Adam Hunt, Glenn Pierce, Renee Pierce, Talley Pierce, Casin Rogers, Desirae Rogers; 20 Great Grandchildren and Nieces and Nephews Survive.

Funeral Services will be held Monday at 1 PM from the J.D. Hill Memorial Chapel of the Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Mickie Skates and Rev. Joel Smith offiiciating, intermnet in the Greenhills Memory Garden.  Active Pallbearers – Alan Goggan, J.R. Goggan, Shannon Nix, Talley Pierce, Glenn Pierce, Keith Smith; Honorary Pallbearers Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Visitation Sunday from 7 until 9 PM at the Funeral Home.

Sizemore Obit

Mrs. Edna Mae Sizemore age 74 of Trion passed away Thursday December 11 in Hutcheson Medical Center.  She was born March 2 1934 in Chattooga County, GA.  She was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills after 32 years of service and was Church of God by faith.

Mrs. Sizemore was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Lewis Sizemore; father and mother, Chester and Pearl Lee McCutchins Chochran; brothers, Harvey Cochran and Leonard Cochran.

Survivors include son, Lewis Ray Sizemore of Trion, Daughters, Marlene Blackmon of Chickamauga and Patricia Frady of Chickamauga; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grand children; several nieces and nephews also survived.

Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday December 13th from the chapel of the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Wright officiating.  Interment will be in the West Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Sizemore will lie in state Saturday at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5 to 9 PM.  Pallbearers will be Lewis Ray Sizemore, Danny Frady, Ricky Frady, Jeremy Blackmon, and James Lee Frady.

Mr. Jerry Lee Kellar, age 59, of Lyerly, GA., passed away December 11, 2008, at his residence. Mr. Kellar was born May 30, 1949, in Jackson County Alabama, the son of the late Ben and Pauline Potter Kellar, Sr. Mr. Kellar was employed with Mt Vernon Mills. Survivors include a daughter, Rachel Duncan, Rome, GA., brothers, Bill Kellar, Trion,GA, Jimmy Kellar, Lyerly, GA, Bobby Kellar, Summerville, GA, Ben A. Kellar, Jr., Section, AL. grandchildren, Dawson Duncan, Noah Duncan, and Jozalyn Tanner, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. (EST) Sunday December 14, 2008 from the Center Point Baptist Church Cemetery, Scottsboro, AL. with Rev. Dean Tapp officiating with interment in the Center Point Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be nephews. Mr. Kellar will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. (EST) Saturday December 13, 2008.

Mrs. Ruth Orene Martin, age died Friday, December 12, 2008 at Shepherd Hill’s Health CareCenter in LaFayette, GA. Mrs. Martin was born December 15, 1934, in Dekalb, AL. the daughter of the late GroverCleveland and Minnie Eleanor Clark Wright. She was a member of the Mt.View Baptist Church, and preceded in death by husband, Winfield “Deed” Martin, son, Glenn Allen Martin, Grandson, Michael A. Martin, son-in-law, James Duffee. Mrs. Lynda Sue Ash, age 46, of Summerville, GA., passed away Thursday December 11, 2008, at her residence.

Mrs. Ash was born May 4, 1962, in Dalton, GA., the daughter of Mattie Pace Bedwell and the late Luther Bedwell, Sr. She was a member of the Chelsea Baptist Church and a machine operator with Shaw Industries. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Sue Ash, and a brother, David H. Bedwell.

Survivors include her husband, Deward Ray (Bud) Ash, children, Anthony Lynn (Gwen) Ash, Theodore Scott Ash, Belinda Rendon, Sonya Renee Payton, Summerville, GA., Rhonda Darlene (Frankie) Battles, Talladega, AL., mother, Mattie Bedwell, Chatsworth, GA., brother, Luther Bedwell, Jr., Oregon, sisters, Judy Bedwell, Barbara (Mike) Moore, Chatsworth, GA., Nancy Phan, Calhoun, GA., Betty Jo Bedwell, New Orleans; 12 Grandchildren; 4 Great-grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews; and special friends, Members of Chelsea Baptist Church.

Mr. Bill Kitchens Obit

Mr. Bill Kitchens, age 66, of Cambell Cresant Circle-Summerville, Ga, passed away Thursday morning at his residence following an extended illness. Native to Chattooga County, he was born to the late John Wes and Gladys Sitton Johnson on March 28, 1942. Bill was a member of Maranatta Baptist Church, owner and operator of Duff’s Florist, and was piano player for the Stedfast Quartet.

Surviving are sister-Dorothy(Dot) Johnson of Trion; companion Wayne Forbs of Summerville; nieces and newphews Amy Parker fo Calhoun, Jimmy Nicholson of Trion, P.J. Guthrie of Florida; several Great Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Anderson Obit

Mr. Bence Matthew Anderson, age 47, of Lyerly, GA died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Anderson was born July 29, 1961 in Floyd County, GA, the son of Bence and Ellen Louise Bryson Anderson. He was formerly employed with Mohawk Industries.

Survivors include his wife, Patty Anderson, sons & daughter-in-law, Matthew Dewayne & Misty Anderson, Steven Labron Anderson, Patrick Allen Anderson; daughter & son-in-law; MaLinda Ellen Denise & Jason Anderson; parents, Bence & Louise Anderson, brother, Mark Anderson; sisters, Diane Hulse and Mary Ragan; grandchild, Savannah Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, December 10, 2008 from the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Jones and Rev. John Mann officiating. Burial will follow in Lyerly Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Steven Gray, Dustin Glenn, Sidney Bandy, David Ragan, Michael Skates, and Brien Robinson. Mr. James Edward “Eddie” Prince Obit

Mr. James Edward “Eddie” Prince, age 55, of Summerville, GA died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Prince was born May 8, 1953 in Walker County, GA, the son of the late Charlie “Wayne” and Kathleen Hunter Prince. He was formerly employed with HCI and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Prince attended the Summerville Pentecostal Worship Center.

Mr. Prince is survived by 5 sisters, Linda Gail Howell, Barbara Nell Burnette, Dorothy Jean Hartline, Kathy Elaine Godfrey, and Donna Faye Perschau.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Thursday, December 11, 2008 from the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Hutchins officiating. Burial will follow in Summerville Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ricky Howell, Randall Burnett, Marvin Hartline, Mitchell Ward, Drake Perschau, and Reggie Burnette. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Corbin, Frankie Abernathy, and William Dobson.

Herman Lee Cash Obituary

Mr. Herman Lee Cash, age 83 of Centre passed away Thursday, December 4, 2008 at his residence.

Graveside services will be 1:PM Saturday, December 6th at Cherokee Memory Gardens, with Rev. Joel Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:AM to 12:30 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Preston Cash, Andy Cash, Jackie Cash, Larry Russell, Eddie Smith, Bobby McKinney, Scott Creel and Greg Hurley.

Mr. Cash was a native of Chattooga County, Ga., the son of the late Baxter Lee and Willie Belle Mathis Cash.
