Mrs. Rosa Mae White Woods, age 88, of Rossville, GA, formerly of Summerville, GA, died Friday, April 10, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Woods was born May 1, 1920 in Berryton, GA, the daughter of the late Claude and Emmie Rich Ponder. She was a homemaker and a member of the Summerville Church of God. Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul “Budgie” White;her second husband, Earl Woods; sons, Paul Devon White and Carl James White; brother, Ben Chapman; sisters, Gertha Rowells and Jewell Ponder Ledbetter. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in–law, Shirley Igou, Jeannie & Pat Moran, Chattanooga, TN, Nelda and Doyle Smith, Trion, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Henderson and Frances Ponder, Summerville, GA; 17 Grandchildren; 31 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great Grandchildren; members of the Paul “Budgie” White Family, and members of the Earl Woods Family. Mrs. Beatrice Joy Carroll, age 50, of Lyerly, GA died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Carroll was born September 8, 1958 in Danville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late H. L. and Doris Gwinn Padgett. She was employed at Menlo School and was a member of the Lyerly First Baptist Church. Mrs. Carroll is survived by her children, Kevin Carroll, Kim Carroll Collins, and Kerri Carroll; sister, Phyllis Marshall; brothers, Ronald Padgett and Hershel Padgett; grandchildren, Trevor Collins and Riley Collins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Friday, April 10, 2009 at Lyerly First Baptist Church with Dr. James Baird officiating. Burial will follow in Lyerly Cemetery. Mr. Thomas Ballenger, age 80, of Smyrna, passed away April 1, 2009. Graveside services were held Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 10:00am at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park with Minister Richard Barnes officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society, 117 Perimeter Center West, #E101. Survivors include: wife, Mary Ballenger of Marietta; daughters, Karen Ballenger and Donna Travis, all of Woodstock; sister, Jenny Copeland of Nashville, TN; brother, Ben Ballenger of Summerville; grandsons, Jake and Zach Travis; several nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Fuller was born January 9, 1943, daughter of Bertha Milton and the late Stanley (Pete) Milton. She was a member of the Adoration Church of God and was employed with the Bristol, Virginia Police Department.
Mrs. Fuller is survived by her husband, Max Fuller of Bristol, VA; Mother, Bertha Milton, Bristol, VA; Step-Sons, Stan (Helen) Fuller and George Michael Fuller, Sylacauga, AL and Tal Fuller, Bristol, VA; Brother, Bill Milton (Nancy), Moody, AL; Grandchildren, Lacey Johnston (Scott), Ryan Fuller, Cody Fuller; Great Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.

Mr. Jerry R. Sprayberry, age 70, of Summerville, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Sprayberry was born in Chattooga County, Georgia on July 3, 1938, son of Leonard W. Sprayberry and the late Zula Mae Headrick Sprayberry. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, serving in Air Operations and as a pilot. Mr. Sprayberry was President of the Chattooga County Historical Society from 1989-1990. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a Captain and pilot for 25 years with National Airlines and Pan American World Airways. Mr. Sprayberry was preceded in death by his mother, Zula Sprayberry.
Mr. Sprayberry is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Lynn Sprayberry of St. Paul, Minnesota ; daughters and son-in-law, Shari and Dennis Rodriquez of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Cynthia Sprayberry of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Grandchildren, Jessica Maruzzala, Khristina Elswick and Sarah Sprayberry; Great Grandchildren, Cameron Maruzzala, Caleb Maruzzala and Summer Elswick.
Funeral Services for Mr. Sprayberry will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Norton officiating. Interment will follow in the Summerville Cemetery.

Ms. Pamela Diane Brown, age 55, of Trion, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 3, 2009 at her residence.
Ms. Brown was born in Chattooga County, Georgia on November 30, 1953, daughter of Nona Lee Wilson Brown and the late George Oliver Brown. She was veteran of the United States Air Force and prior to retirement, was employed as a LPN.
Ms. Brown is survived by her daughter, Kristina Whisenant Romine of Trion; mother, Nona “Dot” Brown of Summerville; brothers, Oliver Brown, Johnny Brown, and Arthur Brown all of Summerville; sister, Marie Rowland of Summerville; and two grandchildren, Sydney Romine and Jaxton Romine of Trion.
Memorial Services for Ms. Brown will be held Monday, April 6, 2009 at 6:00 P.M.in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Russell officiating. Private Interment will follow at a later date.

MRS. LILLIE MAE SIZEMORE, age 75, of Back Penn Road-Summerville, Georgia passed away Monday (March 30, 2009) morning at the residence following an extended illness. A native of Ringgold, Georgia She was born to the late Robert Sherman and Delia Mae Vest Weaver on September 26, 1933. Mrs. Sizemore was a Homemaker, Baptist by Faith, and was preceded in death by husband-John Sizemore; two sons-Eddie Sizemore and Mike Sizemore and two sisters-Mary Ruth Osteen and Margaret Weaver.
Surviving are son & daughter-in-law-Robert and Loretta Sizemore of Summerville; daughters and sons-in-law-Johnnie Mae & Freddie Maynor of Trion, Ethel (Dee) & Joe Ledford of Mentone, AL., Eunice & Ted Simmons, Amie & Terry Green, and Lisa Sizemore all of Summerville; Fourteen Grandchildren, fifteen Great Grandchildren, 5 Great Great Grandchildren; brothers-Robert Weaver, George Weaver, and William Weaver; sisters-Bessie Sizemore, Millard Farrow, and Virginia Goodson all of Ringgold; several Nieces and Nephews.

Mr. Randy Shropshire, age 47, of Summerville, GA, passed away March 26, 2009,in Tampa, FL. Mr. Shropshire was born August 5, 1961, in Chattooga County Georgia, the son of Mrs. Emma Stewart Shropshire and the late Randolph J. Shropshire, Sr. He was a member of the Thomas Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Lyerly, GA, formerly employed with Riegel Textile Trion, GA, Best Manufacturing in Menlo, GA, and did yard work for people in the community. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Emma Stewart Shropshire, sisters & brothers-in-law, Betty J. & Milton McDaniel, Patrick A. Shropshire, Jeanette & Grimmett Glenn, Michelle Shropshire, brother, Jimmy Ray Shropshire, and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday April 1, 2009, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop V.T. Harden officiating with interment in the Lyerly Cemetery.
