Mrs. Alice Timmons Ward 82, of Filter Plant Rd. Summerville, passed away Sunday September 14th in a Rome Hospital. A native of Dekalb county Alabama and was born to the late Robert Lee and Emma Octavia Garmany Timmons on February 18th, 1926. She was a member of South Summerville Baptist and was retired from the card room of Mt. Vernon Mills. she was preceded in death by step daughter the late Diane Lovelace, Stepson the late Gerald Ward, sister the late Uarry Nell Young and brother R. B. Timmons. surviving are husband Franklin J. Ward, sons and Daughter in law John Hensley of Summrville and Mitchell and Teresa Hensley of Trion, Step daughters Nell Wright and Willie B. Amerson both of Forsyth, GA. sisters Ola McWhorter and Anna Lee Dodson of Summerville, brothers Thomas Lee Timmons of Summerville, J.B. Mr. Ricky Rance McNair, age 60, of LaFayette, GA died Monday, September 8, 2008 at his residence. Mr. McNair was born October 26, 1947 in Chattooga County, GA, the son of the late Ted Franklin and Lillian Mozelle Webb McNair. He was retired from the United States Army. Mr. McNair was a member of the Pennville Church of Christ. He was Preceded in death by a son, James Harold Ward, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Judy Gail Clements McNair; son, Jerry Wayne McNair, Millbrook, AL; step-mother, Cassie McNair, Summerville, GA; and a brother, Larry Ronnie McNair, LaFayette, GA. Mrs. Mary Ruth Blackwell 87 of Trion passed away Sept. 6th at the Oakview Nursing Home and Rehab Center. She was born June 19, 1921 in Chattooga County. Mrs. Blackwell was a homemaker and a member of Trion Presbyterian Church , an officer of Chattooga County Nursing Auxilliary. Mrs. Blackwell was preceded in death by her husband, George Bruce Blackwell, her parents Earl A. Mr. Terry Donald "Donny" Greene, age 62, of Lyerly, GA died Friday, September 5, 2008 at his residence.
Mr. Greene was born June 9, 1946 in Trion, GA, the son of the late Joe Terry and Annie Gwin Crider Greene. Mr. Greene was a self employed mechanic and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lloyd Greene, Leonard Greene, Scot Lee Greene, and Russell Greene, and a sister, Alice Marie Thomas.

Mr. William Terrell “Bud” Holbrook, age 73, 0f Cloudland, GA died Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Holbrook was born July 23, 1935 in Chattooga County, GA, the son of the late William Era and Mary Jane Hope Holbrook. Mr. Holbrook was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Rose Holbrook; son, Curtis Lee Holbrook, Cloudland, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia Rebecca & Dudley Easler, Mentone, AL, Melisa Ann and Clinton Carroll, Rainsville, AL, Phyllis Denise and Robert Johnson, Cloudland, GA; sister, Martha Sue Smith, Cloudland, GA; 8 Grandchildren; and 7 Great-grandchildren.

Mr. John Howard Parsons, age 82, of Summerville, GA died Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Shepherd Hills Nursing Home.
Mr. Parsons was born November 9, 1925 in Chattooga County, GA, the son of the late Robert Lee and Earlie S. Morris Parsons. Mr. Parsons was a member of Fisher’s Chapel Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II. He was preceded in death by sons-in-law, Billy Dearing, Ronald Rogers, and Richard Cook.
Survivors include his wife, Violet R. Parsons; sons & daughters-in-law, Lee and Elaine Parsons, John & Shirley Parsons, Dalton, GA, Michael Parsons, Summerville, GA, Anthony Parsons, Cohutta, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda & Charles Harris, Millie Dearing, LaFayette, GA, Janie & Spencer Harp, Tunnel Hill, GA, Martha & Dale Chastain, Silver Hill, GA, Patsy Willingham, Cohutta, GA, Wanda Rogers, Rocky Face, GA, Mary Hendley & Ed Holland, Chatsworth, GA; 20 Grandchildren; 21 Great Grandchildren; & 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Several Step-Grandchildren also survive Mr. Parson.
