Dilbeck Obit

Mr. Lester Dilbeck, Jr, age 74 of White Oak Road in Summerville passed away Thursday morning at his residence following an illness.  Born in Whitfield County Georgia on September 12, 1934 he was the son of Lester Dilbeck, Sr. and Fannie Louise Clark Dilbeck.  Mr. Dilbeck was Baptist by faith and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.  Mr. Dilbeck served in Korea and was retired from the Cobb County Waterworks.  He was preceded in death by his first wife the late Edne Warren Dlibeck; siblings Charlene Dilbeck and James Dilbeck; niece – Teresa Gail Dilbeck Cox and nephew Ricky Lee Dillbeck.

Surving are wife – Lillie Dillbeck; Step mother – Lila Dilbeck Rymer of Ringgold; Step Daughter – Ruth Parker of Summerville and Donna Earkle of North Carolina; sisters and spouces – Jewell and Jerry Earnest and Betty & Van Lance; borthers & spoucesGrady & Genelle Dilbeck and Robert & Polly Dillbeck all of Dalton.  Step brother and spouce – Ron & Lisa Kibble of Ringgold; half-sister and spouse – Gail & Patrick Burton of Dalton; half brothers & spouses – Ray & Paula Dillbeck and Steve & Katrina Dillbeck of Dalton. several neices and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 PM from the JD Hill Memorial Chapel of the Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev Danny Harkins and Rev. Jack Matthews officiating; interment in West Hill Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers – Van Lance, Jr. , Anthony Lance, Jason Meacham, Reid Thurmond, Terry Dilbeck and Jack Parker.  Visitation will be Friday from 6 until 8 PM at the Funeral Home.

Snyder Complete Obit

Mr. Harold DeForest Snyder, age 76, of Summerville, GA., died Saturday, November 8, 2008, in Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Snyder was born April 7, 1932 in Catoosa County, GA, the son of the late Harison Baker Snyder and Mamie Alice White Snyder. Mr. Snyder was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church. Before retirement he was employed with Roper Corporation and Riegel Textile. He was a veteran of the United States National Guard.

Mr. Snyder is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Snyder; daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly & David Talley, Calhoun, GA, Wendy & Chris Proctor, Rome, GA; son, David Harold Snyder, Summerville, GA;sister, Mary Jo Patterson, LaFayette, GA; grandchildren, Kirsty Talley, Marci Talley, Brett White, Jennifer Davenport, and Aly Proctor; great grandchildren, Bryson Talley, McKenzie Talley, and Ansley Davenport.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Tuesday, November 11, 2008 from the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Dempsey officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Davenport, Brett White, Clifford Snyder, Curtis Patterson, Howard Shelton, and Tony Samples.

Mr. Snyder will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Monday.

White Obit

Mr. Richard M. White age 78 of Summerville, passed away on Saturday in a Rome hospital.  A native of Floyd County, Georgia he was born to the late Hugh baxter and Mary Whomack White on March 23, 1930.  Mr. White was a member of the Pennville Missionary Alliance Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Army Intelligence Service, serving in both Korea and Vietnam and after 22 years, retiring an EB after which he obtained an R.N. Degree; waorked at Chattooga Hospital and was form Charge Nurse at Oakview Nursing Home, and worked with Life Flight at Georgia Baptist Hospital.

Surviving are wife Rosemarie White; daughters and spouses, Nancy & Jimmy Gribble of Rome, GA, Cynthia & Eddie Wilson of  Telgoa, Malinda & and Jay Tonge of Goldsboro, N.C., Laura and Kelvin Lovingood of Pennville, granchildren – Michelle Chamblee, First Lt. Michael Terrell, Daniel Terrell, step son Grant Montgomery and former wife Nancy White McDaniel.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 PM from the JD Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Carlos Martines officiating.  Interment in the Pennville Missionary Alliance Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers Eddie Wilson, Jimmy Gribble Jay Tonge, Kevin Lovingood, First Lt. Michael Terrell and Daniel Terrell.  Honorary Pallbearer – Grant Montgomery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 until 7 PM at the Funeral Home.

“Randy” Roberts Obit

Mr. William Randolph (Randy) Roberts, age 88, of Summerville, GA., passed away Friday November 8, 2008, at his residence. Mr. Roberts was born March 17, 1920, in Georgetown, TN., the son of the late Claude and Della Reep Roberts. He was a retired Restaurant Owner-Operator, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and preceded in death by his wife Bea Roberts, sisters, Bennye Nixon, Tommye Dollycott.

Survivors include special friends, Mary Henderson, Barbara Blackmon, Ewia Cruz,Mandy Dooley, Amber Woody and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday November 9, 2008, from Greenhills Memory Garden with Rev. Jimmy Wilborn officiating with interment in the Greenhills Memory Garden. Active pallbearers, Gary McConnell, Carlton Vines, Bobby Nixon, Olin Woody, Tony Echerra, Chris Blanks, Steve Baker, Ikey Henderson. There will be no visitation at the funeral home

 

Cross Obituary

Mr. Jackie Ray “Jack” Cross, age 73, of Panama City, FL died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at his residence.

Mr. Cross was born January 27, 1935 in LaFayette, GA, the son of Louie Bass and Mamie Carrol Cross. He was a twenty year veteran of the US Army, serving in Korea, Germany, Turkey, and Okinawa, Japan. He was an active member of the VFW in Key Largo, FL and a lifetime member of the American Legion. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He was also a dedicated Nascar Fan. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Cross.

Mr. Cross is survived by his wife and companion of 21 years, Wanda J. Cross; daughters and son-in-law, Catherine & Jay Morgan, Lowell, Massachusetts, Susan Cross, Ocala, FL, sons and daughter-in-law, John Cross, Lilburn, GA, Jeff Cross, Jesup, GA, Garry and Felicia Cross, Alpharetta, GA, sister, Oneida Cross Brown, Cloudland, GA, 7 Grandchildren, 2 Great-grandchildren, nephews, Bill and Arthur Brown, Panama City, FL, Dennis Brown, Cloudland, GA.

Mrs. Curtis Mae Brown 85 of Raines Circle , Summerville passed away Thursday at her residence.. a native of Chattooga county. she was born to the late EJ and Ida Mae McSpadden Bush on september 22nd 1923..She was amember of Calvary Baptist Church, a nurse retired after 40 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband the late Ralph Country Brown, and Siblings Frances Floyd, Edward Bush, and Jimmy Bush.  Surviving are son and Daughter in law Marty and Joyce Brown of Summerville Grandchildren Lisa and Keven MacKenny of Gainesville and Jason & Buffy Brown of Summerville, Great grandchildren, Jase and Libby Brown and Jeff MacKenney,a brother Bobby Bush of Caroleen, NC, plus several nieces and nephews also survive.  The Family request no flowers and suggest contributions to the Calvary Baptist church Missionary Fune or the Ralph Country Brown Scholarship Fund at BB & T bank…Funeral arrangement are incomplete and will be announced later by The Earle Rainwater Funeral Home.

Infant Georgia Aileen Deering died November 5, 2008 at Floyd County Medical Center.

Georgia was born November 5, 2008 the daughter of Jerome and Kristy Deering. Other survivors include a brother, Jayden Deering; grandparents, Deborah and Cedric Price, Marvin & Carolyn Timmons, Beverly C. Deering, Marvin and Steven Parker.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Friday, November 7, 2008 at the Summerville Cemetery. Minister Tommy O’Kelly will officiate. Pallbearers will be Marvin Timmons, JR. and Johnny Parker.

Baby Alley will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 10:00 a. m. until the service hour on Friday.
